  1. Things are out of order. File I 130 He goes to the interview Assuming everything else is OK except for the Misrep he will be given the opportunity to file the I 601. Is that what has happened?
  2. We know she does not work now. No suggestion she wants to move to the US to do so. Using round numbers she will be 70 when she gets here. To do 40 quarters she would need to work to 80. I question the practicalities.
  3. Tiger 1 converted to use Town Gas, they also had versions that used Wood Gas. They were supposed to be just used for training, this driver seems to need more training.
  4. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-06-14/the-dirty-secret-of-californias-legal-weed Aging yuppies in neon beachwear stand before a green wall with the catchphrase “You have changed ... so has cannabis.” The social media post is part of “Real CA Cannabis,” a $5-million taxpayer-funded campaign to promote California cannabis as safe, tested and “regulated by the state to protect consumers.” In reality, that safety is far from certain. An investigation by The Times, in conjunction with cannabis industry newsletter WeedWeek, found alarming levels of pesticides in cannabis products available on dispensary shelves across the state, including some of the most popular brands of vapes and pre-rolled weed. Colorado, well not me area of expertise but I can ask and find out. My assumption is that most of the legal pot shops are used by tourists and those for whom price is not an issue. I assume it is more normal to have your local retailer. I know people who know so will ask.
  5. He would need to declare a refused B, and that does not help. Not a complete bar.
  6. DUI does not preclude you from using the VWP. Now Canada would be different.
  7. I assume he is not eligible to use the VWP, anyway the fact that they are prepared to consider his case is a positive.
  8. Which Consulate?
  9. I am going to be dead before there is widespread hydrogen. The only way I could see this working if there is a palletised production system that could say be plugged in and deployed at gas stations. Or even better one you could buy from Home Depot and have at home.
  10. From a practical point of view I have never had a problem, just ticked HSD equivalent. It is a very low level. If you are looking at higher education then I would talk to the entity to see which organisation they prefer.
  11. I have reported your post so a Mod can follow through.
  12. Least surprising story of the day: Whatever happened to the climate kids? After Greens suffered bruising losses in the European Parliament election, some say tired and divided climate activists have lost their way. https://www.politico.eu/article/climate-kids-students-global-strike-marches-fridays-for-the-future/
  13. English Text Exemption for Naturalization There are certain exemptions to the English language requirement for naturalization in the United States. These exemptions are based on age, physical or developmental disabilities, or medical conditions that prevent an individual from learning or demonstrating English proficiency. Age Exemption: If you are 50 years old or older and have been a permanent resident for at least 20 years, if you are 55 years old or older and have been a permanent resident for at least 15 years, or if you are 65 years old or older and have been a permanent resident for at least 20 years, you may be exempt from the English language requirement for naturalization. Disability Exemption: If you have a physical or developmental disability or mental impairment that prevents you from learning or demonstrating English proficiency, you may be eligible for an exemption from the English language requirement. You must submit evidence of your disability, completed by a licensed medical professional, along with your naturalization application. Medical Exemption: If you have a medical condition that makes it impossible for you to learn or demonstrate English proficiency, you may be eligible for an exemption from the English language requirement. You must submit evidence of your medical condition along with your naturalization application. If you qualify for an exemption to the English language requirement, you must still pass the civics test. It is important to note that exemptions to the English language requirement are granted on a case-by-case basis, and you must provide appropriate documentation to support your request.
  14. Just wondering how far her pension will go in the US. Have you talked to her how she will afford this?
  15. You asked the issues you need to consider. Now it definitely would not have worked in my situation but people's situations vary.
  16. Illegal immigrant police could soon fill beleaguered ranks of blue city The Seattle Police Department has lost over 700 officers in 5 years https://www.foxnews.com/politics/illegal-immigrant-police-could-soon-fill-beleaguered-ranks-blue-city
  17. Qualifications for an Expedited Interview Appointment Consular sections overseas may be able to expedite your interview date if there is an urgent, unforeseen situation such as a funeral, medical emergency, or school start date. The process to request an expedited nonimmigrant visa interview varies by location. You should refer to the instructions on the website of the Embassy or Consulate Visa Section where you will interview, or on their online appointment scheduling site. You will need to provide proof of the need for an earlier appointment. In all cases: You must first submit the online visa application form (DS-160), pay the application fee, and schedule the first available interview appointment. Only at this point will a consular section consider your request for an expedited appointment. Note: Travel for the purpose of attending weddings and graduation ceremonies, assisting pregnant relatives, participating in an annual business/academic/professional conference, or enjoying last-minute tourism does not qualify for expedited appointments. For such travel, please schedule a regular visa appointment well in advance.
  18. Most properly put together Waivers are approved, PiP is discretionary, well it is currently.
  19. As you are not married no. If you do marry there is the I 130 and I 601a route or PIP if your children join the Military.
  20. Student interviews are usually pretty quick, a few days, if there is a backlog then it tend to be Visitor Visas but emergency appointments are available in certain circumstances.
  21. Does it qualify for a TN?
  22. https://chargehub.com/ I looked at couple of locations that are close to my regular destinations. For example: J1772 27 A, 6.5 kW Cost: Energy 00:00 AM - 4:00 PM 0.202 USD per kWh 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM 0.429 USD per kWh 10:00 PM - 11:59 PM 0.202 USD per kWh Parking 0 USD per hour for first 240 mins Parking 2 USD per hour after 240 mins So yesterday morning I could have used this for the 3 hours I was there, it is about 35 miles away. I would have charged about 20kw and cost me $4. Using the F150 example that would be enough for 44 miles so get me home, a level 2 Charger not a fast charger. I did fill up my Subaru about a mile away, cheaper there than where I am. Looking back at my old F150 it would have cost maybe twice this much in gas for the 20kw equivalent. Superchargers are the same sort of cost it seems where I am as gas, now I would not be interested if I had to use only Superchargers. Seems they are also not good for the battery if you constantly use them. And the ones near ish me are 40c plus per kw. Now I am looking at a big Truck, if you say looked at the Model 3 then your 3 hours charging on a Level 2 would get you 80 ish miles so enough for the round trip and a bit to spare. Most days my car is parked a few feet from a 20amp/120v outlet for at least 12 hours. So worst case 30kw, 66 miles in a F150, 120 miles Model 3. And the normal tariff cost would be $4.50. I probably average about 50 miles a day.
