Well, first of all, now it is something that can not be changed. And even still, sometimes it is not something you want to do. For example, I moved to the US nearly 3 years after marriage - there was no point for my husband to add me to his insurance while I have insurance in my own country, which I lived in.

That could be another option too actually, didn’t think of that. Thank you.

I do not know if you would be interested in getting a midwife instead of an obgyn. Yes, you should really get insurance. I bought my own on the marketplace after moving here because my move was not a “qualifying event”. But... my midwife charges about $5000 for prenatal care, birth and first several baby well visits. For a healthy pregnancy, which I hope you will also have, it is a cheaper alternative.

Also talk to your husband, he's US citizen and he should be helping with stuff like looking for insurance.. he should know those things.

OK, so family route is out. That is the biggest and easiest route so we are now down to very narrow and very difficult routes.

No, you don't speak to the embassy. They don't give visa advice or assist individuals with getting visas. They process the visa applications for people who are already qualified and sponsored.

What work do you do? Remember that it will cost a company upwards of $10,000 to bring you and your family here so you have to ask yourself what you bring to the table that is worth them spending that. You would also be competing against the local workforce who cost the company nothing to start work there and who can start tomorrow.

And here's another big question you need to consider. What is it you "love" about here? Whatever it is, you probably won't have that if you live here. Living here isn't all theme parks and cocktails by the pool. Cost of living is extortionate compared to the U.K. (I'm from the U.K. - moved here in 2016), annual leave is half what I had at home, no NHS means I am spending thousands a year on health insurance and co-pays/deductibles, utility costs are off the charts, car insurance is very expensive. Don't get me wrong, it's a great place and I am happy here but I'd be even happier if I had the time to enjoy it more and more of my hard-earned stayed in my wallet.

I understand. Having kids together is a big bona fide. But it's just one and they are going to need something else. Bus receipts also good. But lack of pics is a big fat red flag. Giving it to you straight. You may get a CO that overlooks it easily, you may (probably) won't. Do what you can to get 20+. Do what you can to get some photos of both of you with family & friends between now and the interview. Any vacation or anywhere outside your city you go together, have a photo there too. Also you should get witness affidavits that speak to your relationship, and you should get them notarized and include photocopies of the IDs of those who wrote them so USCIS knows they are real people.

So sorry to hear about your twins...sorry to ask this but what about medical bills or death certificates, would they have both your names? You don't have to answer that but if you do you can provide that.

How would you prove a negative?

You basically plan to go “Here Mr. CO, this looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, but is not a duck.”

If what you are saying is true, it was just a costume party, I would say your best bet is to not mention it unless asked specifically about it. The CO needs to know if you are married. You are not. End of story. They do not need to know about every time you got drunk.

This makes me kinda regret waiting til April. I had been eligible to apply in the last 12 months and I didn't because of personal reasons.

Hopefully, it picks up and I will actually receive a 3rd USCIS email this month stating I'm in-line or have an interview scheduled.

It's kinda frustrating how inconsistent the processing timelines have been. With how expensive it is, you would think it could at least be done in a timely manner.

For now... what can we do on this thread to keep us entertained?  HAHAHA

I checked now for your office's processing time, it is 9.5 to 15 months. Mine is 7 to 14.5 months.
The different is 1-2 months. I think you will hear something within these 60 days. Maybe your interview will be in Aug!

I would update USCIS with every address you get, even if it may be for a couple of months. Once you get a new address, you can update it again. Costs you nothing to do it.

On May 14, 2018, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOE***. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

Very happy to see that, and I hope you all get a good news soon.

I agree with the other posters.  I think her safety is a bigger issue than schooling, even if she may disagree.  But lets be honest, being raped to DEATH, kills any chance of being in school, or immigrating to the USA.  She should stay safe!!!!

That first girl didn't "expire".  She isn't mayonnaise.  She isn't milk.  She was a human.  She was killed.  She was MURDERED.  She died.  She did not "expire."

Sounds like the teacher sucks or she is a terrible student. Way too soon to not be suspicious. She will be back in Colombia shortly if what OP is saying is true.

I wonder why OP left for seemingly no reason after the argument.

Wives generally don't call the police on their husband, get them arrested, and file a protective order against them due to misunderstandings...I guess anything is possible though, of course.

    1)  Follow the no contact order.  Don't call/text/email/show up at the house.  Even if she calls/texts you, don't answer her. Breaking the protective order will make it much, much worse on you in court.  If she does text you/leaves a phone message, don't erase the message.

    2)  Do you know what she claimed to the police?  Did you obtain a copy of the police report?

    3)  Lawyer would be beneficial for court.

You have to meet and have PROOF of meeting BEFORE you file the I-129. You also have to be engaged to be married and plan to be married within 90 days of him moving here. It is a fiance visa, not a boyfriend visa or a 'maybe one day we'll get married' visa.

If I were you, I'd go for several visits (and have him visit you here in the US) before making the decision to marry. But thats me.

When you completed the I-129F, did you check box 4a for K-1 (fiance) or 4b for K-3 (spouse)? If you checked 4b, you may not need to withdraw but instead just submit an explanation and the I-130 which should have been filed prior to the I-129F. It's doubtful the K-3 would get processed but you wouldn't have to wait for a withdrawal of the previous petition that way.
