@TD6886 Currently trying to schedule an interview at the consulate! Thanks, Yung! Hope all goes well!! Besides a Family Tree and a Relationship Timeline, are there any other evidences that you recommend we bring? Seems like the HCMC Embassy is a super pain currently and impossible to please if one did not frontload the I-129F petition with everything that they want.
  2. Thanks

Check Fridays around 12-1pm Vietnam time.  That’s when they seemed to post them in 2018.  Others may have more recent suggestions, though.

The embassy has your address from the K1 petition. They'll send it to you without you having to do anything.

And as far as the original post that was quoted goes. The OP back then had picked immigrant visa instead of K- visa applicant

Dude, you are good.  Stop stressing about this.  If you go into an interview as crazy tense as you seem here you might fail.  Show a little confidence instead of abject fear.  Just relax.  My wife was stressed about it - I understand it's a Vietnamese thing to always think the worst - but it's not that bad when you get there.  You have what you need.  Just relax and answer the handful of questions you will get.  Five minutes later you will wonder what you were all worked up about.

The interview does not need all the shot they do not collect this information. But go to the HCM city and start from scratch get all the shot she need and and keep  the record card. Because you either do it now or do it in the states when you she apply for the Green card ( time and money will cost a lot more then in VN )

They can test to see what she has had, Titre. I would start this well in advance, certainly for me it was much cheaper to go in with everything done.

My fiance recently got the packet through a courier on 5/10.
She lives in a smaller town (small town in Tay Ninh province) and the courier texted her first. She paid a bit over 100K in dong to the courier.
I did not fill out the address until she got the packet and finished filling out the DS-160.

    You guys got this!

The local post office will call, or hand delivery to you. I know you very exited and worry, but don't get too stress about these minor things and more focus on the interview.

Yes, it correct. With HCM embassy, you have to wait until they reach out to you with PKT3. If you want one step ahead, send an inquiry to them.

Five years, alot of paperwork and a few thousand dollars.  My wife took her citizenship interview this week and passed.  Now just an oath ceremony left and then citizenship for her and her daughter.  Will be good to leave USICS behind.  Keep it up the rest of you.  There is an end in sight.

MoneyGram.  It’s $1.99 to transfer from bank account or debit card to a bank account in Vietnam.  We sent money 2 days ago and it was deposited in the Vietnamese bank account before we even got the confirmation email!

    Exchange rate was $1=25,400+.

Oh... Sorry I missed that. That is very odd.
It sounds like they want you to complete the DS-160 without the packet 3 letter.
Which you technically can do. Once the DS-160 is submitted it stays valid for a year.

Was the only thing stopping you from doing the DS-160 the fact that you haven't gotten packet 3 yet?
There shouldn't be anything in packet 3 that you need in order to do the DS-160 anyway

The fact that embassies do this process all differently is very confusing lol

    Thanks for the input.
I figure as much since the K3 packet state to schedule the interview first before scheduling the medical exam / immunization.

Now it's a waiting game to see when the next available appointment for the interview opens up.

No, because if your fiancee manage to get the K-1 Visa, the expiration date on it will be 6 months from the time medical examination is done. Try to get the medical exam done as close to the interview date as possible.

I believe this varies by consulate. Some consulates automatically renew, some you have to request it, etc. Back when we went through this process, we needed ours renewed and we were able to just email the Sydney consulate to do so. Checking forums/threads specific to Vietnam would probably help you find the answer you need.

ToNhi reacted to MalloryCat in How long does it take an I-129F petition to reach NVC?
i do believe it depends on the consulate/embassy that the NVC is sending it to.
Ours was received by the NVC on march 12 2024, was assigned a case number on march 25 2024, and was received by the consulate in Germany on april 11 2024.
I emailed the NVC after about a month (i emailed them on april 9th) of it sitting with them to ask if there was a case number yet or if it had been sent. They were able to email me our case number and from there we were able to track it through CEAC

my fiance ended up receiving the letter from the NVC with our case number long after it had already been sent to the consulate.

from what I read on the the NOA2 I received was to wait 30 days/4 weeks before reaching out to the NVC for an update.
Since it looks like its been about 3 weeks for you, I would say wait maybe a week longer and reach out to them.

I was told an ‘estimate’ of 1-3 months at the NVC. That would be a fair amount shorter than time at the USCIS.

Yes I totally understand this! my fiancée and I started out as best friends in 2017! I was 13 and she was 15 turning 16, we started dating October 27, 2022 and got engaged October 23, 2023 but the distance has been so horrible because it’s been so long. Nothing is impossible though and we make it work! I’m glad you guys are strong too!

Every case is not the same. have you both ever marry before? there are so many things/details you just have to get ready and go into the interviews with all the evidence that you have and hope for the best. about the R.E. and F.tree you should have it fill out and bring it with you.
It would be best if you can go with her to the interview I think it will help a lot. best of luck

Bring pictures to interview if any.   Most important is with k-1 visa you get officially married in US before visa expires.
