And this is one of the problems with expedites lately. Too many people are requesting. Now expedite request are taking long time to get responses. There was a point where requesting an expedite was advised as an option. But we are seeing more expedites being denied. Probably for the reason of frivolous requests. You are not alone in your feelings.

You ever heard the phrase, "You are not stuck in traffic...you are part of it."

You can't show what you don't have. You can show those things you listed but they are not considered a valid reason. And you certainly can not make up an emergency situation. Technically, all you can do is apply with what you have and see.

No judgement from me. You are on a site where everyone has the same sentiment..."tired of waiting". You are free to apply for an expedite. Just do not get your hopes up about it. There are also threads here where people share tips and advice on how to overcome the anxiousness of waiting. But for now, the only help you can get with an expedite is, "file and see". There is no magic formula of evidence we can provide you. If it was a legit emergency like medical reasons then obviously there would be more to the answer.

Exactly! I was speaking to a friend a few days ago, she said she went to the dentist and they sent her to a specialist which wanted to charge $17,000 USD for a lot of stuff she didn't even need. She ended up going to Brazil for the holidays and decided to go to the dentist there. They took care of her for $300!😵

It might be even MORE expensive to get looked at and treated in the US and there is no guarantee your request would be approved. So considering your health is on the line, is there any other country that you can travel to and get treatment at a more reasonable price? Many people I know actually travel outside of the US for medical/dental appointments, as it is a lot cheaper to do so.

Yap. I think OP here wants to milk the situation with hindsight of trying to get them to US quickly. I don't know why people do that.

There's no country which has expensive Medicare than US. So, if you're trying to use your situation to get a faster route to US, think twice. It's not a good idea.

And I agree with everything @Carlos.Brazil said.

Wanna know how expensive it is? I went to the dentist 1 month ago and they never did anything other than take a scan. After insurance did their bit, I paid $300 out of pocket. My teeth weren't fixed. I was in an out in 10 mins. Just the $300 alone could have solved issues if I'd have gone outside the country. Doctors charge for anything here, even breathing in their office. So, go somewhere else. US isn't that rosy.

Did you by any chance mention to your doctor that you have a US petition or want to obtain a B-2 to go to US or something? I really doubt if he just blatantly told you to go to US, out of the blues. A lot of USC here are going to M.East and Italy for Healthcare.

I-131 Advanced Parole approved today! Just got a notification from Case Tracker saying it was approved! Not sure if it was because of an expedite or if it was just normal processing. Hope this means everyone will get theirs soon as well!🥳

Could be a big thing if it pans out.  Still a ways from practicality, but there is hope.

US scientists make major breakthrough in ‘limitless, zero-carbon’ fusion energy: report

The scientists, working at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, recently achieved a net energy gain in a fusion reaction, the Financial Times reported, citing three people with knowledge of the experiment.

Scientists have been struggling since the 1950s to harness the fusion reaction that powers the sun. But no group has been able to produce more energy from the reaction than it consumes.

Though developing fusion power stations at scale is still decades away, the breakthrough has significant implications as the world seeks to ween itself off of fossil fuels. Fusion reactions emit zero carbon and do not produce any long-lasting radioactive waste. Per The Times, a small cup of hydrogen fuel could potentially power a house for hundreds of years.

I did see a case not too long ago where a person was in the same boat as you. They had submitted their AOS package but no AP earlier this year. They later applied for AP (about a month ago I belive) and they had their AP approved after just a few weeks! It's worth a try, there is nothing to lose.

Well we signed up for the "Hiring our Heroes: Career Forward" program for veterans and military spouses, and so far it seems good. They provide a free subscription to Coursera to complete a Google Career Certificate within 6 months, and after you complete it, they push out your profile and resume to partnered companies that are looking for these candidates, some of them big companies like Google, Amazon, etc. The companies partnered with Hiring our Heroes also reach out frequently asking if there are any candidates that recently completed the certificates in ordered to potentially hire them. As you are completing the certificates on your own time, they offer workshops to help you build up your resume, brush up your LinkedIn profile and prepare you for interviews as well. We decided for her to do the "IT Automation with Python Certification" as it would teach her the basics of programming and open up a lot of career paths.

Something worth mentioning, since most people here speak foreign languages, you could try looking into the "Data Analytics" Google Career Certificate as there are many positions everywhere (Especially remote ones), and knowing another language could potentially get you a job. For example, if we type in "Portuguese Data" as keywords in a job searching website like Indeed or LinkedIn Jobs, we get a lot of positions for "Brazilian Portuguese Data Linguist", "Data Entry Specialist(Portuguese)", and "Portuguese Data Analyst", all which require a native level speaker of that language and some sort of data analytics experience, which the google career certificate could help you out with. (Most of these jobs pay very well, the average I saw was about $70k-$80K)

Even if you can't get into this Hiring our Heroes program, you would only have to pay about $40 per month for a subscription to Coursera and you could potentially finish one of these certificates in about 2 months if you put the time in(About 30 hours a week). For $80 to get upskilled with a certificate in a high paying field along with being a native level speaker in your language, that's a great deal!
I will update as we go along in the process.
