I recommend filing for I-131 and I-765 ALWAYS. Especially since it's free with I-485. Plans change, and it may be impossible to get I-131 later if you need to visit ill parents or attend some other emergency outside of the US.

There is no fee for renewal of both EAD and AP if you have paid for i-485. If you did not pay for i-485 then you either pay or send renewal package with fee waiver. You will not get combo card if you just send only EAD renewal. Only way you will get combo card if you send both applications together and USCIS approves both together. There are cases where USCIS approves these applications separatly therefore, people do not get combo card.

You do not need to file i-131 if you do not wish to travel.

Ran into my ex over the weekend at a social event for the first time in 2-3 years. I know he has no idea how I have been because my family and friends have been a protective vault with regards to me and my wellbeing. Judging from his reaction, I gather he expected me to die of misery following our awful marriage and even worse separation/ongoing divorce. But I didn't - in that time I have lost all the weight i gained in my suffering, graduated, and now work as a physician at a fantastic hospital, moved into a cute little condo, and just overall living my best life. Finally. He said hello, I responded cordially and i think we both realized at the same time that I am now blissfully indifferent. I always thought I would hate him or be resentful but turns out I just really don't care anymore. Guess who now wants to go to therapy and do everything to work this out? Hahaha. Never again.

This process is long, draining, and still ongoing for me but i am grateful it has helped me find myself again even though that felt impossible at some point just a year or two ago. We just all need to hang on a bit longer, this story will have a happy ending for us.

The "undelivered notice" that was provided by uscis to the congressman was absolutely identical PF that I originally received

so the response from Congressman was the attachment of the copy of undelivered notice (which appeared to be prima facia notice). And this prima facia notice was also mailed to me couple weeks after the congressman's response. So USCIS reacted faster to the congressman's request rather than to my e-request))

Well, I am really glad to know that I am not alone)) As for the update, I did couple things so far: 1. Created an e-request requesting a copy of an undelivered notice, at it was stated in the case status - no response so far. 2. I called the USCIS hot line and even spoke to a real person - they don't have access to VAWA cases, all they told me is to write a letter to the Vermont Service Center (later received a letter from USCIS saying that they were not able to provide info I need through phone and I have to write a letter to VSC) I sent a letter-request to VSC basically explaining what happened and asking what was the notice about and will they send me a copy. Yesterday I received a letter from them, with my original letter-request to them attached, saying that my "inquiry is being returned because the information you seek is available through USCIS by using online tools....". P.s. how interesting, they were not able to deliver the notice, but the letter telling that info I seek is available on USCIS - no problem to deliver at all!!!!))) 3. Oh, almost forgot, and I also reached out to the Congressman (in my case it is a Congresswoman) with the same basically inquiry. And received a response from her, that they contacted USCIS on my behalf and will let me know once hear from USCIC. That's it so far. And as I said before, my address wasn't changed since my original filing date, and all prior paperwork was nicely delivered....
So, write now, baffling myself, what to do next....

Just a quick update on the issue with undelivered notice from USCIS... the congresswoman was able to get a response from USCIS on what was the undelivered notice. And also a few weeks later I received a mail with a copy of that undelivered notice based on my e-request.
So thank you everyone for the valuable advices (especially the one about reaching out to the congressman - it really works!!!)

oh, ok. So if I have a valid passport (not USA, but from my mother land) the Canadian visa will be stamped into this passport (and not into I-512). Is that correct?

yeah, plenty of police reports, orders of protection, hospital records., etc. I have pretty much everything...
efforts, yes, you are right, but it is not smt unachievable. I am just not ready to pay 7k to attorney for compiling the docs, filling 3-4 required forms and sending to uscis. All instructions are available and it is just the matter of not being lazy))

    Good afternoon dear members!

I am at the beginning of the VAWA filing process. I will file the petition on my own, without Attorney. I have all the required and valid evidences (for both: marriage bona fide and the abuse). I also wrote a personal declaration, describing the entire situation, events occurred and referencing the relevant evidences. I would ask more organizational questions (which forms to submit, how, when, etc).
I would appreciate your knowledgeable and accurate answers to my questions.

So to start, my first question is:
I know that I am eligible to submit the form I-485 concurrently with the form I-360. What is the best practice: to submit them simultaneously or separate (mining to submit I-485 after I-360approval?)

    Thank you!

I sent this information to the attorney. But it sounds strange, that the order me to leave the country. Because I still have asylum pending which allows me to stay in the country
