  1. Hm interesting. When we submitted our AOS stuff it was dropped of right at the address vs what sounds like the post office per the tracking so it threw me off 😂
  2. https://www.reginfo.gov/public/do/eoDetails?rrid=363861 Seems like there is movement as this just passed the review last week. Guess we will have new published fees out somewhat soon.
  3. Anyone's tracking looked like this by any chance? Why on earth would a person pick up our package from the post office? 🧐🧐🧐
  4. We didn't personally. Our package was already hefty and I honestly don't think they add much, especially if you have plenty other evidence.
  5. Either way getting added to the lease now will not specifically help in showing that you were properly living together at the same address for all these months imho, although I'd probably still try to get this done if it were me. In terms of having your landlord write a letter explaining the living situation/leases/income verification thing... What I would suggest is researching and writing a sample for him. Then when you go speak to him again explain what exactly it is you need and why, offer to show him a sample letter of what's needed, tell him you'd be fine with him making use of said sample letter or use it as a guideline at least. This takes some of the ambiguity of it all out of the equation - landlord probably isn't as clued in this whole immigration stuff as we all are as we're literally living through it. Make it easy for him to give you what you need.
  6. Have you received hard orders already? If so, I would try to expedite the process based on this. Seen this go through a few times now. If whoever you are speaking to isn't being helpful... HUCA. Alternatively you could also upload the orders as unsolicited evidence. That might just push for it to be approved without interview whenever they get to it. If he/she is on orders that is enough to satisfy requirements as to maintain LPR status. No reentry permit or else required. OCONUS they will have an APO address that can be used as a mailing address.
  7. How was it determined that you also moved in and that you two are sharing the space now? Has there been no amended lease to include your name at all? If you really have none of the "typical" evidence re: leases, perhaps your landlord would be able to write up a statement for you guys that you can include? Forgive me if this has already been discussed - I only skimmed through some of the previous 5 pages.
  8. Dropped off our chonker of a package at USPS this morning... finally. I have never been so happy to stand in line at USPS for 30 minutes 😂. Estimated delivery date isn't until Wednesday, but last time it only took 3 days over the weekend also. Hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later.
  9. Take this with a grain of salt as it has been a couple of years since I went through the same - when I received my "I-693 Deficiency Notice" in mid-September 2021 there was ZERO comms from USCIS until mid-Feb 2022 (which was for my EAD/SSN, so no relation to the I-485). The next update in relation to the I-485 wasn't actually until early March 2022. What I'm trying to say is - there is no specific timeline to follow when it comes to receiving the I-693 Deficiency Notice as far as I'm aware. Just wait until they get back in touch with you guys eventually.
  10. I'm aware, but neither of us have any personal checks on hand. Using a cashiers check worked well for us for our AOS also, so I'm not too worried about it all things considered.
  11. Getting ready to send everything in a couple days finally. Am I right to assume the date of the cashiers check doesn't matter in the context of the 90 day window? 🤔
  12. We've made sure to include all pages of our leases, bank statements, tax stuff specifically. They're all numbered too so easy to see whether they're complete or not and I didn't wanna take chances
  13. Not sure where the "edit post" option went so apologies for double posting... For you guys who have filed already - curious whether any of you decided to print on both sides? Just realised I printed all our electricity bills and phone bills double sided on accident. This package is already looking hefty and still missing a few things so I'm not sure if I really want to re-print all of this single sided 💀 Also whilst we're here - how many pictures did you guys include? We did 20 for our AOS at the time, but honestly not sure how many, if any, the "norm" is for ROC these days.
  14. If you have an online account with USCIS more often than not you will be able to access certain documents (such as receipt notices) through there these days, as well as receiving them by mail.
  15. Oh nice, seems like they're reasonably quick to upload the important stuff still at the moment. I hope the hardcopies won't be too long for you guys either!
  16. Can't file for another couple weeks, but I will share mine when we send it off. Just in the process of gathering some last minute things and sorting out some pictures at the moment. USCIS was also nice enough to actually send me a reminder to file via mail right around Christmas 😅
  17. I concur. Had the exact same thing happening with our I-485 a couple years ago also. The IO definitely had our entire packet even though only maybe 10-15% were uploaded into the online account in three really bad .tif files. It's weird, but considering it's basically been happening across the board for electronically processed packages I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  18. Unfortunately we're expecting to be in a hotel without a permanent address until at least early April, if not longer. We're planning on getting a PO box in the meantime, but already ran into issues with some places (mainly our various financial institutions all of which we were planning on sending in for statements) not accepting a PO box for an address change. It's all a bit messy. So with only a few weeks to spare on either end of this... neither option is looking too great really. I'm hoping 6 weeks should be enough time on average for USCIS to receive everything and to get the NOA/extension letter. 😐
  19. Hi everyone, I figured there might be some people who are also in the process of putting their package together already ahead of the holidays. Hopefully it’ll be smooth sailing for all of us. Please share any timelines, thoughts, prayers… as we navigate this extremely joyous process. 😅 ————— Our 90 day window opens 01/19/2024 and plan is to have everything ready to go before this weekend, so we will only need to add latest bills/statements in January and print out some pictures pretty much. We are planning on mailing the whole thing out the very day the window opens. We'll be moving states at the end of February so I'm kinda anxious about receiving all the important letters from USCIS in those 6 weeks ahead of us leaving here. 🙃 Out of curiosity, is there anyone who’s travelled somewhat extensively in the last two years? How have you organised (or are planning on organising) evidence in relation to this - i. e. boarding passes, hotel resis, booking confirmations etc. pp. We have 17 trips we took together since getting married so really it is quite a lot. Still going back and forth on this as we’re not trying to overwhelm USCIS with potentially unnecessary information. Looking forward to getting this out of the way though honestly. It’s going to be a busy few months for us in between USCIS stuff, a last little on-island holiday, shipping all our belongings and cars, some extended hotel stays and a 15hr journey with a very hyper kitten.
  20. Just wanted to give a bit of an update on this as I figured it might be useful for others who find themselves in the same or similar situation at some point. The DMV was entirely unhelpful throughout this process and would not (could not? I mean who even knows at this point) escalate anything themselves. Called USCIS speak to an agent to start the appointment scheduling for a "Verification Referral" myself. First request for scheduling callback by a Tier 2 was closed after a week with a generic email sent as a response. Called to speak to another agent after this and she put extra detail of my issue in the notes supposedly. Received callback within a couple of weeks and scheduled the appointment at my local USCIS office for early December. So in total I've had to wait pretty much two months on the dot for an appointment at my local office. Afterwards, I booked a new renewal appt to give it another try. The DMV appt was this morning and I now got my new DL that's valid for the whole 8 years. Finally.
  21. I'm curious about this also, especially people who have not applied for citizenship. I haven't seen very many posts from people who have had both 485 and 751 interviews waived unfortunately. We're in the same boat and not having to deal with an interview would obviously be ideal. 😅
  22. Probably too late now, but I found mine on the old Account Acceptance Notice as well as my 485 Biometrics Notice 😅
  23. I agree with the above. Go to wherever your biometrics were scheduled with your letter and whatever IDs you need to get into the building asap. Explain the situation calmly and if necessary plead a bit so they will let you do a walk-in after the fact. It wouldn't even surprise me if they will have seen this same exact situation before either. Hopefully you'll deal with someone with a good amount of empathy and that's sorted. If not, you can at least say you tried and keep badgering USCIS for a rescheduled appt.
