Just passed through TSA on my new AP! I was very nervous but I made it. They took me to the secondary inspection room and looked through the documents and then asked standard questions and then let me go. I encourage everyone who is able to travel and doesn’t have anything barring them from coming back to definitely take the opportunity of their APs!

Someone in a similar situation on this thread did his own background check and mailed it to uscis.
After that, he got approved!
It was like the uscis never sent certain things partaking to that background check and was expecting a result that may eventually never got to happen.
So, he went ahead and did his with an agency and mailed it to them.
What do you have to lose by exploring that direction?

Nobody knows. Some people get it within 6 months, some have their interviews waived, some wait for 1-2 years or more. I suggest that you contact your congressman and ask them to inquire on your 485. My case was “lost” in NBC for 6 mo until I inquired.

3PFs. No RFE. Applied without a lawyer. i485 has also been transferred so that wait has started but for now, I am grateful. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

that's just an average time they are providing. Every case is different. I would not take uscis time process seriously.

VAWA can be expedited, this is true data and mentioned through the person that she has some life threatening situation thats why they approved her petition. Few people did get approved less than a year or little over a year. It really depend on case to case basis. We cannot overwhelm ourselves with what we see except just pray to get approvad.

I received an RFE notice email today from USCIS.
I am a March 2020 filer, and I am slightly worried, since I felt I submitted every bit of evidence I had to support my case. Hopefully, I will be able to overcome this and send in sufficient documents for approval 🙏🏻

Just a quick inquiry about latest processing time is showing 25.5 months but people who is currently in 27 months showing they can inquire in 33 months which does not make sense. Can you share any thoughts on it @sandranj and @Demise Thank you.

Hello all,
My VAWA was approved today.
Filed I-360 in July 2020. Status on I-360 changed to “new card is being produced” yesterday, and today received an update “case was approved”.

I had not much proof of living together. Submitted almost everything what I had to, never submit a psychological report or background check.

Hello friends,
I want to share my story. Some of you old folks may remember me from 2017. Filed Vawa in Jan 2017 by myself. I was begging to the lawers to help me, I was ready to give them money for just a hope, but no one took my case, (NY) because I had not enough proof for being together with my exhusband. I filed by myself in January 2017 and after 4,5 years got approved. All I want to say is don't lose hope. If I got approved with my weak case, everyone can. Timeline:
January 2017 - Sent Vawa.
May 2019 - Sent 485/765 (got EAD and started living life)
June 2021 - Vawa approved.
September 2021 - Fingerprints
April 2022 - Medicals drop off (have only 1 dose of Covid Vaccine)
April 14, 2022 - Green Card Approved.
Don't lose hope.

Hey Everyone, here to share the power of prayer. Yesterday I was asking if anyone knew of any solutions because my job wouldn’t accept my extension and @balo101 tried to help (thank you) as a result yesterday was my last day at work and I am terminated today. I prayed last night, and begged God to have mercy on me after all I’ve been through before going to bed, and just a while ago I get a notification that new card is being produced for my I-485!!!!!
I am so grateful and will pray for everyone in this community to hear good news soon 🌸

Hey everybody! I finally received my green card in hand today! I thought the day would never come but it did. My field office is NY and my i-360 was approved exactly one year ago. Hang in there everybody!

tbh PF does not mean anything, they can approve anytime they want or can choose to keep it hanging. I saw sept 2020 approval in fb

I personally don't recommend travel until you've got a green card in hand but if you really have to travel:
Be mindful of any covid restrictions still going on, but other than that you should be fine to travel on AP. It does not trigger a re-entry bar associated with overstays and being out of status as per Matter of Arrabally.
You won't get an outright denial which is what would kill your AP, if something's missing they'll RFE or NOID you for it and you'll have time to get yourself onto a plane back to deal with it.
Only real situation where I would say you should absolutely stay put is if you responded to an RFE because at that point it's generally sink or swim - they will approve or deny it and if they deny it while you're abroad you're kinda boned.

You should not travel if you are in removal proceedings or if you had or have an asylum case. It will not delay your case simply because you travel.

I understand your concern. 2 years ago I went to Europe. I have a pending asylum but i was married and i got advance parole and ead via marriage (AOS) and I used that to get my visa . I left US from JFK and spent 3 weeks in Germany and came back via JFK . I went to secondary inspection and waited 5mn. Officer called my name and ask where I live. That was the only question they asked me and he stamped my passport last page (paroled for a year). Overall process was smooth...
To get my boarding pass in Europe , I have to go to the counter but the first person (tier I) wasn't familiar , so I requested to speak to her supervisor and I got the boarding pass within 3mn after he arrived. The supervisor also showed her what to do next time cause she didn't know.
I am planning a trip this year again using ead+AP(based on Vawa and i485).
It's a 2 years old experience but hope it helps.
Note that I didn't go to my home country due to my pending asylum case. Don't travel to your home country if you have asylum pending or are in removal proceeding.

Gotta do a background check to issue the C31 EAD. If you checked no on question 12 then they could actually approve it without a background check. Anyways, USCIS has been playing it pretty loose with when biometrics expire due to the pandemic, in most cases these days if they have something old on file for you they'll just reuse those and send them again to FBI to see if you're still clean.

Hello everyone
I just got an update on my Uscis saying “ Notice explaining Uscis actions was mailed”. Does it mean an NOID? Are they saying they intend to deny the case?
