Good morning everyone, I have a question that I’d love if anyone else in this group has any knowledge about. My vawa was approved little over a year ago, from the day I left my abusive relationship I have not spoken to my ex, which it’s almost 5 years ago. I know I am divorced as my ex has already remarried, I’m guessing he went through the process by himself. We both lived in ny, so I'm assuming here is where the divorce was filed, but all the courts I’ve checked can’t provide me with a copy of my divorce certificate. Does anyone know how I might obtain a copy? Thank you

Thank you for your valuable insight Sandra. I read the article and it said you can prove your first marriage was bonafide, which I can do. So I think I want to try because I really want to move on with my life, I’m getting older and would like children sooner than 5 years.

Hello Everyone!! Congrats to everyone making progress on their journey. I am not completely finished with my journey, but I have received my green card. I want to get married to my fiancé who is from my country, is anyone here familiar with it’s how long the process would take? or would it be better to wait until I became a citizen? Good day everyone, Just wanted to give an update that after almost 2 weeks I just received my green card. Usps took a week to ship it to me sadly. Let’s hope I can resume work soon. Thanks to everyone on this forum, I am not sure how I would have survived those years without it, most days it was the first thing I looked at in the morning and the last thing before bed. For everyone still waiting… trust me.. just hang in there 🌸
