USCIS claims nothing of the sort for a son in his 60s

Assuming the son is not married, cases  from 2014 are being considered.   If the son is married then cases from 2008 are being considered. I don’t know if begging married and later widowed / divorced counts as married.

And regardless the man is a USA citizen and so I-130 would be denied unless USCIS can satisfy itself the man isn’t.  Proving a negative for a mother who was resident  the USA for the 30 years of her life is hard. Statistically let’s say 90 percent of Americans traveled outside the USA at least once a year. The probability she she traveled every year for 30 years is 0.9^30 or 4.3 percent. Thus we can be 95 percent certain she had enough physical presence. And I really doubt 90 percent of Americans crossed the border each year then or now.  I’d say closer to 10 percent. 1 - 0.1^30 rounds up to 100 percent.

Why can't your friend petition with his father if he's a naturalized citizen?

Hello, my ceremony (November 2021) at the SJFO's parking lot was straight forward and easy going.
I was driving the car with two friends with me, no-one asked any question or anything to them. Once the ceremony was about to start they invite you out of the car and your friends/family can watch from about 20-25 feet away.

I just want to acknowledge something, please don't say it was a "bad idea" to file the first day you were eligible. We shouldn't feel guilty for filing when it was the time.
The process is daunting and current backlog is huge with people waiting forever to get their petitions processed. Plus many of us have been waiting for this moment for a long time, there's a ton of reasons to apply the first day possible.  USCIS is a federal govt service serving public,  that is funded by people (taxes) and should be working for people not against them. It is their lack of competence to get the website to work right! IF I get a denial, in a million years will I ever withdraw my application, it's not my fault.

I messaged them through the online inbox, and they replied today with the message below. June 26 is the date I actually filed, so hopefully that means we’re ok 👌

Our system shows that your N-400 application, which was filed approximately June 26, 2021, is pending and is within our current processing time.

I filed last year and Ive moved  with a pending application (filed office change followed). Waited a year to receive my interview notice. I think it's an average wait time, definitely not the longest.

Has anyone had an interview at Sacramento office recently? How do they handle name change?

The online form may not work if you just go there directly from web search (did not work for me). I got the same message and the message contained a link to that same AR-11 form. when i followed the link directly from my account and filled out the form, it did work. Then I saved that pdf, printed it out, signed and mailed it. It took awhile for my new address to show up online.

its their mistake. I don't really know your priorities, but it seems that you'd have to pay again and go through the process again. I would consult with a lawyer though, usually initial consultation is free. and maybe see what they recommend. Hopefully there is way to get a refund for you.
I also filed the first day I was eligible but am still waiting for my interview. Good luck!

Yes, agree that it might have been worse in this regard, but why one agent says that they won't cancel it, they cancel it. And what is that weird, confusing wording: unforeseen circumstances, while they might just clearly refer to change of residency. That's why I am confused even more than frustrated and wondering maybe there is a different reason for the cancelation.

You cannot predict what the agency decides, so be patient, and if possible, cancel the ticket. You are now in a much better place--yes, with the canceled interview. It could have been an unwanted scenario: for example, you travel, go to the interview and still have it canceled being physically present at the interview--waste of time and $. Hope you get your interview rescheduled soon.
P.S. you don't necessarily get put back in line when changing field offices, i'm not 100% sure, but they still tend to process petitions in order-- could be less time, could me longer, depending on thow busy the new office is.

UPD: My new address finally shows up online. I waited another couple of weeks after my original post and mailed in another copy and called 1-800 number and left the request with an operator to fix my address online. So it took effect 6 weeks after my first AR-11 filing.

I don't know exactly what to say. But if I were you, id set up an info pass appointment at the office you likely will end up having your interview at or at least get Tier 2 officer on the phone and explain to them the situation you're in. The reason why i suggest this is that I moved having a pending case and 4 weeks after notifying uscis my address still hasn't been updated online. You don't want this to turn in to a "no show" assuming they will handle it correctly.

It took about 3 weeks for them to update mine recently. Keep an eye on the old system, as you'll see your address change being processed there.

They messed up my first change of address, and didn't process it correctly, so I submitted a new AR-11 a month later which was correctly processed.

You have done all there is to do.
But still check your case on a weekly basis because sometimes USCIS updates to address does not get processed properly and the post office drops the ball

If you have that message of new card being produced then your case was approved. That is usually the first message, followed by your case was approved in a day or two. So congratulations!!

It is a little confusing.  Do you know for certain you are going to have an interview for the I751?  There are cases where interviews are waived especially if one had an interview for an AOS at some point.  If the system shows a card is being produced, I would think that is correct, but there have been glitches before.  I would stay in the queue for getting the I551 stamp until you receive either the new GC, or the mailed NOA that the I751 was approved.  If you do actually have an interview, yes, bring your updated taxes.

    Good Luck!
