For anyone who’s doing k1 visas. I just got my interview appointment for 6 weeks away. So it’s taking 6 weeks from submitting notice of readiness to the interview date

Understandable and I feel the same way. I've been watching these forums since we first submitted over 9 months ago and have slowly seen the processing times go from averages around 230 to 250 to 260 and now over 300 days. The K1 trends in the timeline section for the NOA1 to NOA 2 section didn't even have a 300 days average option visible until recently. I feel like I've been thinking "Ok, just one more month to go" for months and months on end. I was so looking forward to being over 200 days waiting as it meant the end was in sight, and now as we creep closer to 300 days waiting it feels like there is no clear end in sight. Will it be another 30 days until we are finally past this first stage? 60 days? 100 days? 200 days? 300 days? Completely mentally maddening. I could have made a whole new person from scratch in the time we've been waiting!

You think I'm being negative...? I'm being honest, and everyone has the right to as much information as they can get, whether or not that makes them happy or sad. For the past 3 months, processing time has slowed down incredibly. March filers were supposed to get processed starting October - it is now end of January and we've only just really started. It has been confirmed several times over that getting 4,000 I-129Fs in one month is not normal. Our calculations are also not somehow incorrect b/c of the "current situation," our estimates have come from spending every night adding up approvals/RFEs and communicating to you guys exactly where they are.

It's because of us that the March/April filers aren't all thinking right now their applications have been lost in a bin somewhere. We're just trying to keep people informed so they don't get crushed when the VisaJourney and USCIS estimates come and go.

Probably everything got slowed down because of the holidays and the omicron mess. I would expect (hope) the pace to pick back up after New Years is over and omicron isn't the monster it was thought to be.

I also believe that as each month passes there will be less and less petitions filed because the 2 year window of meeting with a fiance is going to butt heads with very little international travel to many parts of the world. The world locked down nearly 2 years ago, so anyone who met someone online in the last 2 years will not have been able to meet in person and thus cannot meet the 2 year meeting in person requirement.

    WEEKLY CHART UPDATE 12/26:
    1 Approval
    1 RFE

    TOTALS:
    108 Approvals (all very sporadic)
    18 RFEs
3360 Other Action aka “waiting and others”

This week is another short week with Friday being a holiday, so let’s hope we at least see some March movement. At this point almost all of April can put in their first inquiry.

I think going off what you and @Kor2USA have said. I am definitely going to be looking into a spousal visa. I’m not sure if we can do zoom wedding since my fiancé isn’t a resident anymore but it might be easier to get married abroad in Europe and then register the marriage here and then apply for spousal. I need to also look into dcf requirements for the Irish embassy also. If anyone has any info on dcf that would also be great.

but yeah I think spousal will be the way to go because with the delays for k1 now and then the restrictions of work and travel spousal is looking a lot better.

thanks for all your guys help!

Unfortunately, I-129F now takes 9 months minimum to process, so such timelines are no longer realistic. I am unaware of how NVC processes cases through but it's my understanding that so long as the interviewing embassy is relatively clear, they'll request the packet fairly promptly. OP, you can always check the average amount of time it takes for an Ireland interview under the Processing Times tab here on VJ. I would recommend joining our little thread for March filers in the "Progress + Reports" subforum or the March filers Facebook group. We have charts that are regularly updated and may inform your decisions.

Yeah looking back , I wish we would’ve just got married here and did the spousal visa. I think now since we’re almost at the end of the k1 process we’re just gonna stick to it instead of starting all over again

    Hey guys.

we filed our i129f on may 3rd so we are officially 7 months in. Hopefully we get approved soon but I’m worried since they haven’t really started processing March cases yet.

my fiancé and I both live together in Ireland and we are worried about another covid lockdown being introduced. Would we have grounds for an expedite with uscis if my fiance(petitioner) loses his job and that would put us in financial hardship?

does anyone have any experience with this?

Yeah so we are 7 months into the uscis stage. We are hoping with the way things are going that we will be approved end of jan/ feb and according to timelines here in Ireland it is only take 1-2 months from noa2 - interview date.
I have looked into dcf as they do it in Dublin but only with exceptional circumstances but it’s taking about 3 months to get a marriage license here due to backlogs so I feel like by the time we do that, get married, file for dcf the k1visa will probably be issued by then.

    thanks for the link!

Wow we're quiet here. Is morale that low? I bring good tidings from the Facebook group: many March approvals today, including one from March 15th (which personally makes me happy to see!). Outstanding February cases are quite low and it does definitively seem like they've moved on to our little group. I've learned not to make predictions here, but it's a wonderful thing seeing March approvals again.

The Affidavit of Support Form I-134 is needed upon the interview and you should bring this along with the NOA1, NOA2, and the other documents you have submitted during the first filing. See the Ireland Consulate Review section https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=29406  here in VJ and you’ll find loads of information there about the interview process. There are also some recent K1 interviews which are really helpful. Hope that helps!
