Hi! For those of us who were unable to register the appointment over the weekend, I was just able to do so this morning!

I've been seeing some posts saying that people are able to upload their 2020 tax transcripts on CEAC - can anyone confirm if that is possible for a joint sponsor and how to do so?

Great news! CEAC has updated my IV from refused to Issued on Oct.14th and on the 15th, I received the email to track my passport. Purolator says estimated delivery is this Monday.

I didn’t renew but got a new one in my married name. I put my old one because that’s what they had on file. I brought both my old and new passports to the interview and asked them to update and use my new passport for the visa.

Looks like our hunch of there being very few DQs Nov onwards was spot on. I have a feeling it goes up in March/ April. But we will see.

I am May 19 DQ and feeling optimistic about receiving interview letters next month.

Very happy for everyone who received ILs. Wish you all on the spot approvals.

    Hey everyone,

I’ve been afk for mental health reasons, thanks to everyone who reached out. I just wanted to let you all know I wrote to our new Ambassador, Arnold A. Chacón. I don’t know if it will even end up crossing his desk, and it certainly won’t be helpful for our case, but it made me feel better to write it in hopes it might help those of you who are currently DQ 2021. I hope none of you have to wait as long as those of us caught in the COVID-catch up. Even if it doesn’t help you, or if you’re finished your journey, I think it’s worth writing to him about how devastating this process has been in the wake of COVID-19, and what an impact the lack of access to resources, communication, and reliable information from the consulate has had on you.

The mailing address for the embassy can be found on their website and it should be directed to the “Executive Office of the Ambassador of the United States of America”. I’m happy to share a link to the Google doc for people to see what I wrote, but please DM me. I don’t want to post it publicly at this time, but I’m happy to share personally.

I'm back in Canada now and exempt from quarantine! No issues at the Canadian border, my free Walgreens ID NOW NAAT Test was accepted by the CBSA and my proof of vaccination was also accepted. My experience was surprisingly routine as outside of being handed the Covid-test and having it administered it felt like a regular pre-pandemic border experience. I hit the Douglas/Peace Arch border crossing. Used the ArriveCAN app, had a printout of the lab results that Walgreens provided me via email, my Fraser Health Vaccination card (with a Rite-Aid 2nd Moderna Shot given in the US) and took a taxi from 0 Ave back to home. Was all smooth. Hope my experience helps y'all out returning to Canada for your interviews.

    Hey!

I've seen quite a few people ask about free testing in the US, etc. and just wanted to share what I've been using.

I'm not sure if this helps (as I don't know how many people are in the Seattle/Tacoma/Everett area), but I've used Solvhealth (https://www.solvhealth.com/) to get a PCR test (I haven't looked past the more central areas, but I'd say if you're anywhere within Washington State, maybe try to look up your location on the site and see if there's anything nearby!), and have always gotten my results back within 24 - 48 hours!

Hope this helps/hope you're all able to find some free or more affordable options, as this testing thing definitely adds up.

Okay. I spoke with someone at the CBSA. They said that the ID NOW (NAAT) test is accepted. The email results on your phone are accepted too.

For the fully vaccinated exemption. It doesn't matter if US/Canadian shots are mixed on the same card. It just needs to have your full name, lot number, vaccine type, date provided and the provider. Rite Aid put a sticker on my Fraser Health card and they said that would be fine.

I presume people who didn't meet the requirements were able to U-Turn and be able to re-enter the US by land, rather than be fined the $5k. XD

Just finished up my medical with Dr Cheema in Surrey. Great experience and just an all around good guy. Exam was a breeze! Flew out of Edmonton at 7am and arrived in Vancouver at 7:15 local time. Grabbed a taxi and go to the medical at 8am (my appointment was at 9am) but they got me started on the small amount of paperwork and I was out by 9am to the X-ray. That took 15mins and then off to the lab which was just down the street. Had to wait until my appointment at 10:30 which Cheemas office made! Out of there by 11 and at the airport having a beer at noon. Lots of time left for my 1:30 departure back to Edmonton…

Finally finished with our journey! My husband had already activated his GC a few months ago at the border before the mandatory Covid testing was required to enter Canada from the US. We crossed on Tuesday at the Peace Bridge at Buffalo/ Fort Erie. Our van was packed full as the movers had already picked up all of our furniture. I had prepared a detailed list (4 pages) of all of our possessions that we were taking over with us. Got to the customs booth and was asked for my passport and husband’s GC, what was our citizenship and what state we were moving to...that was it! He didn’t even look inside our van or want to see my list which I told him we had. The only thing he was concerned about was importing our vehicle so we had to go inside for that, which we were prepared for. 15 minutes inside and we were good to go! Easiest crossing we’ve ever had and so happy to be near my family again!  We have to give a huge thank you to everyone here in VisaJourney as you guys have been a lifesaver through this whole process. I’ve also made a couple of good friends through here as well. Best of luck to all of you!!!
