    We got our approval in December, it arrived at the embassy in HK last month, and we were preparing for the interview when Hong Kong was hit with a massive wave of COVID, crippling the country and causing the embassy to put another pause on all interviews 😭 Now we're just in limbo again, at the mercy of covid with no idea when interviews will resume (Embassy initially told us end of march, but its dependent on COVID).

    Good point. Regardless, I don't think that will cause issues for us, so that's a weight taken off 🙂

    I talked with a friend who went through the immigration process as well, and he suggested maybe it's an alien registration number. After reviewing our I-797 I can confirm it's the same number listed on that as AXXX XXX XXX. I'm not sure why USCIS wrote that in as her SSN, but I don't think it will cause us any issues since it's still a number associated with her.

    I don't really think there's anything to misunderstand here. There is a number manually written in this box, that wasn't there when I submitted the application.

    She was previously in the US, but only as a student on a student visa, and during that time she did not work here or apply for a SSN.

    You may share this link to your fiancee for her reference (this is in Chinese).

    Based on what I read, she will need to apply through the province where she has her Hukou (in this case, Hunan). On the application form, she needs to provide the addresses she has lived other than her hokou address.

    I was from Hong Kong and had lived in Shanghai for 2 years in the past. When I applied the Police Cert (I did it through an agency), I had to go to the closest border (in my case, Shenzhen) to get my latest record of Entry/Exit before I applied.

    Interesting that yours says 45 days. I just received the result of our inquiry today saying almost the exact same words except 90 days. "Your case is currently being adjudicated. You should receive a notice of action* within 90 days."
    NOA1 = March 1st
    Inquiry 1 = Nov 20th
    Response = Dec 6th

    March 1st here, just submitted the outside normal processing time inquiry. Hopefully we hear something soon.

    Anyone have a link to the spreadsheet that's floating around?

    March 1st here officially according to the case tracker on USCIS, so hoping to hear good news any day now 😂 We haven't submitted an inquiry, but based on the response to inquiries some have gotten, it may not really help much I guess. Just checking that email every day 😁

    That's what we did. We were waiting on the NOA2 when she moved. We gave the new address when we completed the DS-160. No issues.

    VJ also says that we will start hearing something in October but I’ve seen December filers getting approved in the beginning of august and now the started January. Maybe I’m too optimistic but I just can’t live without my fiancé. Distance is killing

    USCIS Charged my card yesterday and sent me an email today. We filled out the e-notification as well, but instead of text they sent email. Still got it so I'm good with that.
    Note to all: It went directly to junk mail, so make sure you're checking that!

    Received date March 1st, Time to enter the next stage!
