  1. Perhaps query the CBP agent at U.S. POE specifically and closely about your intentions in regard to Canada. Ask for the CBP shift supervisor to be included, if there's any doubt or question. You need clarity, and the very fact that you're asking indicates honorable intentions on your part. Then, presuming that the CBP supervisor gives outright or qualified approval for your Canada detour, you can state this to any agent who's suspicious when you would try to re-enter the U.S. from Canada. Bear in mind that a total stay of less than 6 months might be all that's approved. Above all, do NOT wait until the last day (or two) of authorized stay before leaving the country. Weather, flight problems, and political unrest can cause delays leading to overstays, which would be disastrous.
  2. Fingers crossed. Be sure to keep us apprised.
  3. Fast-paced video (under 7 minutes) reminds us of the real history of the day. I wasn't taught this in school... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Video: Columbus Didn’t Sail for Spices — He Was on a Secret Mission Against Islam! On April 27, Donald Trump declared that "Christopher is going to make a major comeback! I am hereby reinstating Columbus Day." As I explain below, however, it's doubly good to remember and reclaim Columbus — but for reasons long forgotten if not completely suppressed. https://pjmedia.com/raymond-ibrahim/2025/05/06/video-columbus-didnt-sail-for-spiceshe-was-on-a-secret-mission-against-islam-n4939524
  4. There is zero shame. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 60 Minutes lionizes Trump-hating attorney Marc Elias, mastermind of the Russia hoax After an unprecedented on-air hissy fit last week over the forced exit of a longtime editor, 60 Minutes's Scott Pelley decided to go all in on the Trump-hate, using his on-air time to praise and promote Marc Elias, the architect of the Russia hoax scandal and probably the world's sleaziest lawyer. According to Breitbart News's Joel Pollak: CBS News' 60 Minutes portrayed Democrat election lawyer Marc Elias as a victim of President Donald Trump's supposed retaliation against law firms — without once mentioning Elias's sordid background. CBS' Scott Pelley portrayed Elias as a hero, the only lawyer brave enough to speak out against a series of executive orders by Trump targeting large law firms that participated in, or hired, lawyers who opposed him. Pelley neglected to mention that Elias was the architect of the Democrats' "Russia collusion" hoax in 2016; that he led the effort to change election laws in 2020; and that he has a long history of dirty political tricks. Nor did Pelley mention that [...] https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2025/05/60_minutes_lionizes_trump_hating_attorney_marc_elias_mastermind_of_the_russia_hoax.html

  10. This reminds me of "steamed crabs" at buffet restaurants. I always wonder, "What upset them so much?" Diner: Waiter! Do you serve crabs here? Waiter: Why, yes, sir -- we serve anyone.

  12. The NY Times, and more (like NPR), get barbecued! A fun read. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The press hates Trump more than it loves the truth — and the hyperbolic fear-mongering we've seen is proof When there is a Republican president, the leftist-dominated White House press corps likes to gang up and try to put him on defense. The ultimate fantasy is repeating the glory days of Watergate by driving the president from office. That was certainly the aim in Donald Trump's first term, where the hunt by Democrats with press passes — and the help of a corrupt FBI — was so intense that they produced a near-daily flood of lurid allegations, with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax being the grand climax. But Trump 2.0 is turning out to be a far different story, though not because the press has decided to be fair in its coverage. Far from it. Many editors and reporters are still predicting the end of the world every time he says or does something they don't like. Their definition of a scandal is when he deviates from past presidents, as if the Oval Office is a straitjacket. Take recent front page headlines in The New York Times describing the president's moves and agenda: [...] https://nypost.com/2025/05/03/opinion/michael-goodwin-the-left-wing-media-creates-false-allegations-with-trump-back-in-the-oval-office/
  13. Eye-opening facts and thoughts about Harvard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bill Ackman to Harvard: When A University Becomes A "Political Advocacy Organization," It Doesn't Deserve Nonprofit Status Hedge fund manager Bill Ackman advised Harvard to treat President Trump's demands with respect and said the president is fair to challenge the university's tax-exempt status if there aren't major changes. "If taxpayer money is going to an institution, the institution cannot have massive amounts of administrative bloat, waste, or bureaucracy," he said Monday morning on CNBC's "Squawk Box." "Acknowledge the areas where the President is absolutely correct," and make a deal, he said. 18. He will get a visa in his passport, typically stamped. General advice: If he has ample time before the interview, it's good to renew his passport for the longest period possible, if it's within shouting distance of expiration.
  19. Maybe this. Harry is certainly a beta male... or thoroughly whipped... or both.
  20. Man -- what effect will widespread adoption of this have on the trucking industry? Will it help with the shortage of human drivers, or cause the latter to be "obsoleted"? Wonder if any labor unions are involved? Too bad this didn't come about in time to possibly save Yellow Freight.
  21. Thread is moved from the K-1 Case Progress subforum to the "AOS from K Visas" main forum -- OP is at the latter phase.

  24. Interesting... ~~~~~~~~~ Azerbaijan, the Next Stop of the Abraham Accords? Facing complex negotiations on Ukraine, Gaza, and Iran, the Trump Administration would love to claim a diplomatic victory. What about looking to add another signatory to the already successful Abraham Accords? An ideal candidate would be Azerbaijan, where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was supposed to arrive on May 7, but has postponed his visit. He delayed the trip due to the escalations in the war against Hamas in Gaza, the Islamist regime attacks against the Druze minority in Syria, and planned retaliation for Houthi ballistic missile attack against the main Israeli airport. Turkey and Iran also courted Azerbaijan to derail the rapprochement between Jerusalem and Baku. Ankara and Tehran would like nothing more than to kill any possibility of Baku joining the Abraham Accords.
