  1. Contact your U.S. Congressman's immigration liaison. They have channels that we don't. They'll ask you to complete a simple release form, perhaps available in advance on their website.
  2. Thread is moved from the K-1 Process forum to the Embassy/Consular forum -- topic involves that phase.
  3. Sad: Britain Tries To Play Baseball But Gets The Rules Wrong And Forgets Their Gloves And Puts Sticks Behind Home Plate For Some Reason LONDON — As the fun and excitement of America's Major League Baseball season draws to a dramatic close, the British had reportedly taken it upon themselves to join in and set up their own league. However, they have reportedly mucked it up, sadly getting the rules all wrong, forgetting to wear gloves, using flat bats, and putting some sticks behind home plate for some reason. There are also now two home plates. "We've no idea what we're doing, by Jove," said Englishman William Ellington Smithtonshire, who had set out to bring baseball to England. "I thought I could improve the old thing. The game's at its most exciting when chaps leg it to home plate, so [...] https://babylonbee.com/news/sad-britain-tries-to-play-baseball-but-gets-the-rules-wrong-and-forgets-their-gloves-and-puts-sticks-behind-home-plate-for-some-reason
  4. Sunday! Time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke: =========================================== THE SCOTSMAN AT THE ENGLISH UNIVERSITY Donald MacDonald, from the Scottish Highlands, went to study Law at a renowned, austere English university and was living in the residence hall with the other students there. After he had been there a month, his old mother came to visit him. "And how do you find the English students, Donald?" she asked. "Mother," he replied, "they're such terrible, noisy people! The one on that side keeps banging his head on the wall and won't stop. The one on the other side screams and screams all night." "Oh, Donald! How do you manage to put up with these noisy English neighbors?" she asked her son. Donald replied, "Mother, I simply ignore them. I just stay here quietly, playing my bagpipes."
  5. 'Everything Smith Did as a Deranged Prosecutor Helped President Trump Win the Presidency' In the summer of 2023, John Lauro—a New York-based defense attorney at the time representing Donald Trump related to the events of January 6—met the government prosecutors leading the criminal investigation into his client. For nearly two hours that day, Lauro spoke to Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team in response to Smith's target letter notifying the former president that he may face charges for his attempts to "overturn the 2020 election." [...] In response to the special counsel's recent attacks on the president and his DOJ, as I reported here, Lauro wants the public to know the Jack Smith he dealt with for more than a year in the J6 case in Washington, D.C. "I saw a gross deviation from Department of Justice norms and prosecutorial ethics by the entire Jack Smith team," Lauro, a former federal prosecutor himself, said. "Every move he made as a prosecutor was not justified by prosecutorial ethics but was instead motivated by a single purpose—to get Donald Trump and prevent him from being president." The purpose of the lawfare, however, extended beyond the pursuit of Donald Trump; the wholesale destruction of the MAGA Right was their ultimate goal, Lauro said. "What we were fighting was an effort to take out a political movement and Jack Smith was the prosecutorial hitman to do that." [...] https://www.declassified.live/p/everything-smith-did-as-a-deranged
  6. This is a wonderful article by a former leftist. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No Kings: The Lunatics Are Running The Asylum Protests are meant to be the voices of the unheard. Yet these protests are the voices of those who never shut up. Not for one minute, not for ten years, and all of us have had to endure them like being trapped inside Willy Wonka's chocolate factory with hundreds of thousands of Veruca Salts. What are their No Kings protests anyway? What have they been since 2016? What are they trying to say? Is it like the ex who smashes all the dishes in the kitchen when her husband tries to leave? I won't be ignored, DONALD. [...] https://www.sashastone.com/p/no-kings-the-lunatics-are-running
  7. Thrilling Saturday non-GS/ES report, see man: The drag-carcassing GS wasn't so bad, because we erranded on our way back to the casa, enterprising we man. Breakfast was another Many (2+1) of those precooked egg patties, ingest we man. The GS/ES itinerary took us to semi-local 'hoods where we'd rarely or never been, need that periodically we man. Lunch/din-din was at Denny's, haven't been there in a blue Moons Over My Hammy man. We consumed 2 chicken-fried steak patties & double mashed potatoes, ingest we man. It did not make us sick but probably irreparably hosed our cholesterol, speculate we man. At the casa, a shower & a siesta were then taken, Clean for Gene and zzz we man. Mama T-B. hastened the siesta's end with a demand for a visit, roust our carcass we man. Amazingly, she approved of the duster dress that we'd bought on speculation, mirabile dictu man. Visit lasted 1 hour + half an hour, should count on at least this every time man. We warshered/baked & must fold today's purchases + Mini-B.'s leftover duds, domestic we man. No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man. No plans for Sunday, prepped for Two Guys week we man. And that was/is our thrilling Saturday, report we man.
  8. Saturday GS/ES report, see man: This drag-carcassing event had many vendors but lousy stuff, shut-out we man. This is the first time in perhaps a Manycade that we left with zero, oh well man. Two GSs were phantom, man. One timed out before we could attend, their problem man. Of the Many (2+2+2) actual ESs, Many (2+2) yielded the take, see man: -- 2 bottles facial toner, full box lens-wipes = $Many-&-a-half ($[2+2+1] + half a buck), deal man -- duster dress for Mama T-B. = $2 + half a buck, deal man -- 2 NIP rolls "Fragile" tape, NIP box denture tablets, 2 NIP Head & Shoulders = $Many ($2x2x2 +2), steal man -- full can Lysol, 2 gigantic warshcloths = $1, steal man Total = $Many ($2x2x2x2 +2+1)
  9. You need a certified copy of the birth certificate.
  10. The OP appears to be at AOS stage for his K-1 wife, so no I-130. He can certainly include the extra information, but no one should get in trouble for interpreting the I-485 instructions literally and sending precisely what's asked for. VNMH, please update your VJ timeline; it stops before visa-issuance.
  11. Let us know when you become a Colonist.
  12. I've never been involved with VAWA, so I have no idea about the fees. If Sandra G. stops by the thread, she'll know; otherwise, someone who has done it recently might answer. Sorry for no help here, and it's the weekend, so replies may be slower than during the week.
  13. BREAKING: Oct. 7 Jihadi Arrested in Louisiana by FBI One of the murderous attackers who participated in the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel was just found and arrested in the United States of America, living here with a fraudulent visa. If ever a story illustrated our urgent need for serious reform of our visa/immigration system, this is it. Mahmoud Amin Ya'Qub Al-Muhtad participated in the Oct. 7 attack on Israel and his location was pinpointed to one of the kibbutzim where one of the worst massacres of that 2023 day occurred. Afterwards, he moved from Gaza to the United States after obtaining a visa, while not admitting his connection to paramilitary organizations in his home territory. 14. After no production since June, Cat T-B. barfed in 3 places today. All were highly liquid, on the tile floor, and rather easily remedied with use of high-quality paper towels.
  15. Why are cats always calmer after they've been manicured?
  16. Thrilling Friday non-ES report, see man: We got to bed at half-past 2 a.m., almost Walmarting time for Bro G man. We were zzz-ing not badly when we were jolted awake by yard-crew noise, jolted we man. Neighbor's crew began before sunrise, couldn't believe it man. We have a streetlight right over our yards, that's probably how & why man. The guy normally shows up last thing before sundown on Fridays, usual man. He must have reversed his route this time, man. If it happens again, we'll have to mention it kindly to our neighbor, sigh man. We lurched downstairs to discover that miu had barfed Many (2+1) times, all liquid man. Miu was inspecting it to see if she could re-eat it, almost certainly that goal man. Miu was months overdue for an all-wheel manicure, agitated miu man. We got miu-carrier off garage shelf and brought it to kitchen, somehow didn't kill ourself man. We then fed miu, miu-breakfast man. However, miu knew what was planned and was having none of it, no trips Daddy man. We were running late for our ES-ing, so we flushed the idea for then, flush we man. Although the ESs were vastly spread out, we enjoyed the trip, country highways/roads never before visited man. We made surprisingly good time, despite occasional monsoons man. Breakfast/lunch/din-din (at half-past noon) was at favorite medium-sized town Chinese buffet, no not THAT one so calm down Bro G man. The price was indeed cheaper on Friday than on Saturday, crucial point to remember from now on man. There was no need to visit More-Than-a-Dollar-Tree or Tractor Supply Co., did so just last week man. On way back, went through FST to town supermarket, second consecutive week man. We again up-stocked on Powerade Zero grape for $1 each, wonderful sale man. Was greeted at casa by expectant miu, time for treats and dry miu-food Daddy man. We served miu 2 treats, nabbed her from behind, and miu-carriered her, loudly objecting miu man. Miu screamed all the way to vet's office the beauty salon, fruitlessly explain trip's purpose to miu we man. Miu got manicure, beyond desperately needed man. Miu has also lost a few ounces, again within healthy weight-range man. We paid $Many ($2x2x2x2x2) -- si man, Many ($2x2x2x2x2) -- for this manicure procedure, man. Miu screamed all the way back to the casa, scream miu man. Miu much calmer once de-miu-carriered, always the case after manicure man. We were semi-sweaty and needed a shower, decide to mow full lawn we man. Weather was hot and rather humid but cloudy with occasional breeze, why not go for it man. Endeavor necessitated Many (2+1) sweatbands, 2 job 1 recovery man. Miu did NOT sit on our lap as we off-cooled, must have smelled too fragrant we man. Showered and intended to siesta, much-needed man. Of course, Mama T-B. phoned partway into siesta, how does she always know man. We will have to appear on Saturday to caddy different medications, man. We will have to put her off until we're ready, see just below man. No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man. We have itineraried Many (2+1) mass GSs and Many (2+2+1) ESs for Saturday, ambitiously itinerary we man. One is practically at the crack of dawn, why do mass GSs run for only Many (2+1) hours man. We will drag our carcass from bed to attend that one, then prep ourself to attend the rest, figure we man. And that was/is our thrilling Friday, report we man.
  17. We found a sort of workaround for the above, see man: -- we type addresses into Bing Maps to determine the logical route, type we man -- we print that front page as an itinerary overview, overview we man -- if we want stepwise directions, we retype the addresses into AAA TripTik, retype we man -- we then print those pages, good backup man It's double work, sigh man and we only rarely refer to the printed directions when our Garmin GPS doesn't have a newer address in its memory, see man, but at least it accomplishes the goal, si man.
  18. If none apply, ignore them. They're covering the waterfront of possibilities. If there's a logical place to put your A number, it does no harm. Your naturalization certificate is the key item here.
  19. Congratulations on your marriage! Unless requirements have changed, you don't need much beyond the marriage certificate (send a copy, and save the original for your interview), the I-485 and other forms, and the fees. Order several more copies of the MC for yourselves -- you'll probably need them. Your other relationship evidence is a good start for removing conditions (ROC) on the green card. It's never too early to think about that stage. Take every piece of evidence physically coming in that indicates your shared life together, and throw it into a box. Do the same thing digitally in a computer folder. By ROC time, you'll have a smorgasbord of evidence to support the filing. In addition, and as a priority, shop for a lawyer who can draft wills, medical & financial powers of attorney, and similar estate documents. These make superlative evidence for ROC, and they're even more crucial to have in "life." Remember that if you move from one U.S. state to another, your wills may need to be redone.
  20. If they're not the standard fees, someone will be along to clarify.
  21. What do the instructions tell you to do? Read them carefully.
  22. Rather pretentious, but well-meant and potentially profitable for the 501(c)(3) outfits. Even if only a few dollars come in, every little bit is a gain. The only problem that I see is whether GoFundMe concentrates on nonprofits on one side of the political spectrum. If they're doing it for organizations such as libraries, that's fine.
