  1. Welcome to the forum! Your country-specific thread is moved from the K-1 Process forum to the Mexico/Latin/South America regional forum, to be among a higher concentration of potential respondents. People should be along to help. Good luck during your process!
  2. Great to hear. Eat this elephant one bite at a time!
  3. We need even more threads as helpful as this. --- Yet another idea is to find a real estate agent where you want to live. Some even specialize in rentals. However, I prefer other ideas presented above.
  4. Is there a better garden spot? How about also Adak, Alaska? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ US immigration authorities appear to have begun deporting migrants to South Sudan, attorneys say WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration appears to have begun deporting people from Myanmar and Vietnam to South Sudan despite a court order restricting removals to other countries, attorneys for the migrants said in court documents. Immigration authorities may have sent up to a dozen people from several countries to Africa, they told a judge. Those removals would violate a court order saying people must get a "meaningful opportunity" to argue that sending them to a country outside their homeland would threaten their safety, attorneys said. The apparent removal of one man from Myanmar was confirmed in an email from an immigration official in Texas, according to court documents. 5. Can our veterans comment on how significant this is? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ VA drops secondary review rule for community care medical appointments Veterans Affairs leaders on Monday announced plans to eliminate secondary reviews for patients seeking health care consults outside of the department's medical centers, a move that could dramatically speed up the time for booking those appointments. The move was mandated by Congress last fall as a way to simplify VA's community care procedures, which allow veterans to use taxpayer dollars to receive private medical care. About 40% of all medical appointments paid for by the department are conducted by private-sector doctors, a number that has risen steadily over the last decade. But some veterans advocates have expressed concerns that as more patients — and federal funding — leave the VA health care system, the changes could weaken the department's medical centers by leaving them with fewer resources. 6. Is yours on the list yet? Few, so far... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Walgreens Closing Stores in 13 States This Month. Here's the Full List If you think that companies are filing bankruptcy and closing stores at an alarming rate this year, you're not alone. So far, Joann has gone out of business, Rite Aid filed bankruptcy for the second time, and Big Lots has closed all but a couple hundred locations. Now we can add Walgreens to the list of closures. The company announced last year that it's planning to shutter 1,200 locations over the next three years, and some are happening this month. Here's what we know, and which locations are closing soon. 7. This is actually a pretty good system. When I've been on solo road trips, I can't eat while driving, so I've made sure to either eat a big hotel breakfast or (the night before) buy convenience-store sandwiches for breakfast, then skip lunch so as to maximize my day, and pig out for supper. I also fill the gas tank in the evening wherever I'm stopping for the night, whether it needs it or not; this precludes having to interrupt a trip to find gas. Good philosophy, and come to think of it, I agree with you about Loves. --- In Iowa, I was impressed with Kwik Star or however they spelled it -- really clean stores, and great product selection, especially sandwiches. One of the best car washes I've ever been through, too.
  8. Dude, where do you find all this cool stuff? This site is completely sharking!
  9. And another. No matter to whom this happens, no one should like to hear it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 'Dilbert' creator Scott Adams reveals same cancer diagnosis as Biden, says he has months to live (NEXSTAR) – Scott Adams, the creator of the 'Dilbert' comic strip, has revealed he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones. Adams, 67, brought up the diagnosis Monday during a stream on his Rumble account, while discussing former President Joe Biden's similar prostate cancer diagnosis. "I've decided that today's the day that I'm going to take the opportunity, since a lot of you are here, to make an announcement of my own," Adams said during his podcast. "Some of you have already guessed, so this won't surprise you all. But I have the same cancer that Joe Biden has." "But I've had it longer than he's had it. Well, longer than he's admitted having it," Adams added. "So my life expectancy is maybe this summer. I expect to be checking out from this domain sometime this summer." 12. Great news in a really fun article. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Brand-New Brand: Trump Lemonade [...] if you wanted a prime example of Trump's recipe for success to anchor a doctoral dissertation, you could do no better than the rise and fall and rise of Ed Martin, Trump's original choice to be U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia in this second term. Martin had served in the position on an interim basis since Jan. 20, the date of Trump's inauguration, and was expected to get confirmed for a full term by May 20, when his interim appointment would expire. 21. I've never heard of them, but I've had no reason to have heard of them. The one with stellar results is one of our VJ Partners (and I have no conflict of interest in making this recommendation):
  22. Yep, erratum sheet, or tell them first thing, or both.
  23. It is Sunday, and time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke (appropriate for a Sunday!): =========================================== CONFESSIONAL A man went into the confessional box at church. On one wall, he found a fully equipped bar with Guinness on tap. On the other wall was a dazzling array of the finest Cuban cigars. Then, the priest came in. The man said, "Father, forgive me, for it's been a long time since I've been to confession, but I must say that the confessional box is much more inviting these days." "Get out!" said the priest. "You're on MY side of it!"
