Has anyone have experience with dr. Cheema? I booked for July 26 but from the email it says report is ready in a week and will be mail to Montreal by the clinic. However, it says on the website that it will be ready in 3 business days for pick up. Could anyone who had done the exam from dr.cheema let me know? My interview is on the August 4th so it would be tight if it takes one week for report to finished and then mail to Montreal.

    Thanks!

I had my medical Dr. Cheema morning of June 23rd and received confirmation that the results has been sent to the consulate by morning of June 26th.

I just had my interview today and was APPROVED :)

I'm not sure if this will help, but I only handed my original police certificate that's due to expire exactly 1week from today, July 9th.  I do have a more recent one that I got last month just in case, but they never asked for it and I forgot to ask if it's really 2years now.

I would assume they would have said something if it's an issue given the very close expiration date, but it was accepted as is.

I was told you have to move to the US 6months from your medical exam date, so I don't think it'll be an issue if you wanna stay a bit longer after your interview.

Oops! Just to be clear, I meant my police certificate was issued July 9, 2020 -- so if it's only valid for 1 year, it would be expiring next week...

I redid mine, just in case. The answer I got from the consulate made me think it was truly up to the officer to decide, so didn’t want to take a chance of having any issues:

I think they put that disclaimer because if you went to RCMP they will tell you that the Police Certificate is only valid for 6months.  With them extending it up to 1 year (or now 2years) they have the discretion to ask for a new Police Certificate that is within the 6month issuance if needed.  Atleast that's how I interpreted it...

Not in California. You have to redo the whole drivers license process as if you just turned 16 - written test and road test. However, for CRA purposes (NR-73), you can show severance of residential tie by voluntarily giving it up.

I believe it is illegal to hold both a Canadian and American DL concurrently. Your driver’s license is tied to your residency; if you’re in the US on certain visa types, there are some special rules, but as a resident for tax purposes and substantial presence, you are required to change it within 3 months.

good to know. thank you both for the help!

    Hi all,

I am trying to make an appointment with Dr Cheema.

I sent them an email just now including all my information as they instructed on their

website. Even though I read all instruction, I still think I might have missed something

and there should be another way to make an appointment such as online.

Can you tell me if I am doing it right? Thanks, I appreciate it.

I also sent them an email this morning (around 8am) and got a response within the hour. The document they sent me does state that they only book appointments 7am to 12noon only, so you probably won't hear from them until tomorrow morning.

I can't even imagine what someone DQ'd in mid-septmeber or mid-October is going through right now. Being so close to the finish line and then getting ghosted by the consulate for 60+ days.

I'm DQ Sept 9th and this had definitely taken a mental toll on me to the point that my family are already suggesting I talk to a professional about my depression. I don't think I can really afford to wait another month of waiting. Hoping to hear something next week...

My husband keeps telling me to just fly down and visit till my interview.. with out a doubt we can afford it but I don’t want to take the risk to be told no flying down. Also now looking at what’s going on I feel like I got another year of waiting.

same!! I promised my husband we'll talk about me visiting the US this month last January if I still don't have a scheduled interview by then, but given I'm DQ Sept 9th I'm afraid to go there but not have enough time to prepare for my interview once scheduled.  this waiting game has been torture! especially seeing K1's getting their interview dates for July already. I gave up hope on a June interview but it would break me if they're not gonna schedule spousal interviews for July too...

  8. since I'm on the cusp and still holding on to the hope that I'll get an interview date soon (LOL) I'm trying to prepare the docs I'll need to bring for the interview. just wondering if anyone can help me out:

    1. currently holding dual citizenship but only have a Canadian passport and that's what I noted on my DS-260 form -- do I still need to bring proof of the other citizenship?

    2. we originally uploaded I-864 but was wondering if we can switch to I-864EZ since we need to update quite a few information on the original I-864 anyways?

    3. I have a middle name on my birth certificate but not on my marriage certificate since my passport and other forms of identification does not my middle name. will this be an issue?

thanks in advance for the help!

Along the same lines as here..Scheduled until 5/19, latest DQ 9/5. I’m DQ’d 9/9 and was really hoping to be in this batch. I hope they’re not finished with this month but honestly it’s been such a mess with interviews during COVID I won’t be surprised if that’s it :(

hey there fellow Sept 9th DQ 😬 to say I'm disappointed is probably an understatement since my name is right there that's supposed to get an interview date on the google doc list. lol. but here's hoping more dates will come by next week...

  10. Hello! Just wondering if anyone has had their passport stamped with No EOS / No AOS before and how are the chances of entering the US again after returning to Canada?

I’m freaking out as this is the first time it has happened to me. I admit I frequent my husband in the US especially since COVID hit and he cannot afford to do the 14-day quarantine here in Canada. I don’t plan on overstaying, but I do plan to come visit him again during the holidays in maybe end of November or early December. Will I be denied entry if I try to visit again so soon? Will that affect my current CR1 application if I do get denied entry? I’m currently visiting him for 2 weeks during the Canadian thanksgiving week

    thanks for the help!
