  3. Oh I wouldn’t either! This is why I’m avoiding Mexico for the time being (until I get my 10 year GC).
  4. I also use this handy website to check for details on traveling as it also gives the option of seeing if airlines have restrictions: https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/MX-Mexico-passport-visa-health-travel-document-requirements.htm When inputting PH passport, USA Permanent Resident for a tourist trip to MX: - choosing Delta Airlines shows a warning that the extension letter is not accepted - choosing United Airlines showed the same warning as Delta - JetBlue showed no restrictions So maybe try to fly with JetBlue. I haven’t tried other airlines besides these three
  5. *** Related threads on traveling to Mexico on extension letter merged together *** From what I have been reading here the issue seems to be the airlines. I know for a fact that Delta will not board someone with an extension letter. United airlines as well according to recent reports: I personally have scratched Mexico from my list of destinations for this reason as I’m also in the Removal of Conditions process. The hassle is not worth it in my opinion given there are many other great options. I could get a visa but as you said it’s hard to get an appointment and it’s just too much work

  9. Yes, I would advise to fill out a DS-160 when it shows ready (that’s what I did).
  10. It’s either transcripts only OR full tax return and W2. Pick one but they prefer transcripts. In that case drop the W2s Pick one or the other. There is no need to send both And the K1 visa page as well This will be separated so it needs its own set of documents. At the very least you need 2 passport photos for I-765 as well
  11. That’s a futile argument as the consulate relies on US laws, not the applicant country’s laws. “About to be finalized” is not the same as fully finalized so CO is right about that as well. They can’t travel on the same case as the marriage was/is not valid at the time of adjudication and there is no basis for him to travel as a spouse on a F4 case. I believe that’s the only option. The wife will have to sponsor the husband. Keep in mind it takes 5+ years for a Lawful Permanent resident to sponsor a spouse.
  12. Yes, as the delay is out of your control. You should bring a fresh of intent to the interview but if you’re extra worried I would email the consulate and reiterate that you’re seeking an extension and attach that letter of intent. It’s a common problem. I know for some consulates it took months to secure an appointment after checking that page constantly. I also remembered reading a thread where someone reached out to the consulate (the immigrant visa unit) and asked about the issue and they’ve been granted an appointment that way so maybe you can try and see if that’ll work for you as well.

  16. *** Topic moved from Bringing Family members of US citizens (other than spouse) forum to IR1/CR1 spousal visa forum *** CR1 category. If married for more than 2 years at the time of entry to the US with the immigrant visa then it will become IR1. 18-24 months

  18. I’m not sure about “instant denial”, as you said they would usually put someone in AP/refused before making a decision. However, one meeting (especially if it was short) can be problematic for a “tough” consulate and I’d categorize Tunisia as such. You mention it is not possible to meet before/at the time of the interview. Is your interview scheduled very soon (as in the next few days) already? I’d do by best to meet at least once before the interview. I was asked at my interview when was the last time I saw my fiancé and back then the process didn’t take as long as it does now, plus it was in the midst of COVID border shutdowns, but there was definitely an expectation from the CO that we’d see each other again after filing the petition (which we did). In your case CO might have questions as to why you went so long without seeing each other. It all boils down to what your risk tolerance is and personal decision. If you’re okay with taking the risk and going in with what you have at the moment then that is your decision.
