  3. *** Topic moved from Taxes & finances during US immigration to Moving to the US for where health insurance is discussed *** When I first came to the US, I had to take out insurance through marketplace under affordable care act (ACA) because my husband was “locked” into Medicaid due to the pandemic and i obviously couldn’t be on Medicaid. It was not a cheap insurance even though we got tax breaks for the premium. However, I’d rather pay that than be stuck with no insurance. I then got under my employers plan once I could work. Once my husband changed jobs and was no longer locked into Medicaid, I got on his employers plan which was cheaper than mine. Best for you to take out insurance under your employer and add your fiancé. That would probably be the cheapest.
  4. Hmm I would at least give it another week which would make it 2 weeks post interview. If you need your passport later on you can request it while they make a decision on B2.
  5. Congratulations!!! That’s truly amazing! my thoughts exactly. Now I wonder if I should have waited a couple more months to file to reap the benefits of this classic USCIS scheme 😄😫

  8. Approved is not a status that really exists on CEAC, at least I’ve never seen it here. “Issued” means Visa has been printed in the passport. Refused is a very common and usual status after visa interview as verbal approvals do not actually count; it’s the status showing “Issued” showing the true approval.
  9. *** Topic moved from Bringing Family members (other than spouse) to the US forum to AOS work/tourist/student visas - this would be an adjustment of status from a work visa case ***
  10. Only Islamabad processes immigrant visas.

  20. USCIS usually rebuffs with referring to the processing times on their websites and that the application is within the normal processing times. However, it’s free to try
  21. US Citizen is not part of a B2 visa application for a foreign national. There is nobody to contact or do on your part. Your friend is the one who needs to qualify on her own merits.
  22. The average processing for I-824 that I’ve seen here is about a year.
