  10. Legal marriage certificate issued by the state. Depending on your state, a religious ceremony is considered a legal marriage ceremony which will produce a legal marriage certificate. That’s how it was for us in NY. The imam sent the paperwork to the county after the ceremony and the county issued a marriage certificate.

  18. K1 is treated as an immigrant visa and is processed by the immigrant visa unit at the consulate. The process of obtaining the police certificates is the exactly the same for K1 applicants
