Nobody here can make that decision for you. That’s something you yourself need to decide on. You must remain unmarried for F2B but I also understand that’s a very long wait. If the petitioner can naturalize and you do marry, then you can keep the petition which will become F3 and you can be eventually be petitioned years from now but at least you can live your life and not worry about this anymore.

Waiting for NOA1 receipt. It might take up to 10 weeks to receive Usually, the biometric letter will come after NOA1. Most of the time it happens within a few weeks of that but in other cases it takes a few months. I-485 It’s true that they take faster these days, I’m not sure about 4 months fast though. It definitely was a lot longer than 7-8 months for many prior to Covid, more like 1-3 years.

According to the thread below, you need to wait until the consulate sends you instructions and the interview date. This person reported waiting a few months which seems accurate for a busy consulate like Ciudad Juarez: K1 applicants do not pay fees to NVC/Ceac. All payment is done at the consulate and I would wait for those instructions

*** Thread moved To General Immigration discussion where mandamus cases are discussed *** Maybe @saied can chime in if he can, I believe he also received a motion to dismiss.

*** Thread moved to SSN forum form US citizenship forum *** She must go in person. I went to change it right after I got my GC. I think it makes sense to require an in person visit for a serious matter/agency like this, it’s not like you’re changing an address or something. They want to see original documents in person to verify. If they mess up and issue someone an unrestricted SSN even if the system says so (and glitches happen) they will be responsible for it. I also don’t see how they would know she’s a citizen without having to dig for that information and I’m sure they don’t have resources for that.

Uganda does not process any immigrant visas. Kenya is the designated consulate for Ugandan nationals so that means you will have to travel to Kenya for interviewing etc. I went to the US consulate Kenya page and after taking the visa navigator quiz, here’s the information on K1 applicants: I Want To Schedule My K-1/K-3 (Fiance/e) Appointment If the U.S. Embassy has e-mailed instructions to schedule your K1 appointment, click here to create an account, pay the required interview fee, and schedule your appointment. K1 appointments are often taken as soon as they are opened online. Applicants should continue checking the scheduler for new appointment availability. We are unable to manually schedule any K1 appointments on behalf of a petitioner or their beneficiary. IMPORTANT! While we understand your desire to reunite with your fiancé(e) as soon as possible, the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi is facing very high appointment demand so it may take several months before the embassy sends you an e-mail with scheduling instructions. You should not attempt to schedule an appointment or your required medical examination until you receive the instruction e-mail from the embassy. https://ke.usembassy.gov/visa-navigator/ Please note the part in bold. It says not to schedule anything until you receive an email form the embassy and that it may take several months.

*** Thread moved from Bringing Family members of US citizens to America forum (consular processing) to AOS work/student/tourist visas - this is an adjustment on tourist visa case based on prior post history *** If you filed I-485 before April 1, 2024, I don’t believe you need to pay for EAD and AP. I would include I-485 NOA1 when you file I-765 and I-131. “If you filed your Form I-485 before April 1, 2024, and paid the fee, there will be no fee to file Form I-131 or Form I-765 while your Form I-485 remains pending. For further details on fees related to adjustment of status, please see our Fee Schedule.” https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/frequently-asked-questions-on-the-uscis-fee-rule#:~:text=This final rule removed $727,A.

Options for B1/B2 extension. Mom of US citizen.
powerpuff replied to obrakeo's topic in Tourist Visas
if you can afford to self pay in the US, that’s great for you. Not everyone is like that and we’re offering all perspectives and potential issues that might be not be “required” in immigration but it’s worth considering. -

What you said doesn’t contradict what I said. OP asked what issues might come up if they decide to petitioner for a GC and I answered that insurance is one of them. Once she becomes a PR she’s not a visitor. That’s a fact. -

Just an FYI that traveler’s insurance do not cover permanent residents. They cover medical expenses for a traveler (i.e. visitor) which she would no longer be. -

One big consideration would be the potential extreme high cost for health insurance for her. I linked a thread for informational purposes: -
