Has anyone gotten their biometrics yet for Jan 2023 filers at YSC? Am traveling out of the country for a week in April so I’m a little bit nervous since we haven’t received biometrics yet, but we can travel before biometrics (if that even happens) so long as we can reschedule is that right?

I filed in December and haven’t received anything except my NOA

Just got my "reminder to remove conditions" letter from USCIS - looks like they didn't bother actually applying my change of address request to my file and so as a result USPS returned it, and they sent it back out to me at the address that USPS said "return to sender" at. It was stamped "action completed approved for filing" at the bottom on the tearaway slip, instead of the usual "include this with your application for faster processing". Hopefully when I file my I-751 they use that address instead of my old one...

Lol exactly the same thing happened to me. They ended up switching to my new address after I filed the I-751

Are you able to provide the timeline? I’m in a similar situation, waiter 8 business days post approval and no movement. Thanks!

I think it was about 3 weeks after approval.

So my expedite request has been denied... my next question will be how accurate is the lawfully app ? Predicted to have EAD approved by 29th of this month, so still hopeful that it won’t be a lot longer

Not at all accurate for me. I also got an expedite denied, submitted exactly the same request a second time 2 weeks later and it got approved..

Hey, everyone. April filer here. My interview is on March, 25th but I haven't applied for health insurance. Do they ask about insurance at the Fairfax office? Will it be a big problem during the interview? That's the only thing I'm worrying about. Thanks a lot.

We got asked for a copy of our health insurance policy

@beefmaster2  @CDNgirl09 any thoughts on civil surgeon?

I honestly don't remember the name of mine. It was somewhere near DuPont. Certainly wasn't good or cheap though!

Thanks for that data point. Fingers crossed. I'd mainly love to not have to renew my EAD (it runs out end of September) and I feel like I should probably put that in for extension if it gets to end of April and I don't have an interview. I also would just love to not think about this any more for 2yrs :)

I submitted for my renewal just before my interview. Honestly, I am glad that I did. Technically USCIS has 120 days to provide you with a response after the interview. I would have hated to lose my job due to lack of work authorization while waiting for my green card. Anyway, up to you. Its a short and free form so perhaps just worth doing it?

For a change like that my understanding is that you need to physically make an appointment at CBP (they need to verify the GC and change the basis document on their systems). Given the hassle with doing that right now many people are leaving it till they return from an overseas trip when you can do it on arrival at the global entry kiosk.

Any idea how you make an appointment?

  7. I just got my green card in the mail and I am wondering how to update my Global Entry. I have an active Global Entry approval for a prior visa I was on. Now that I have my green card, I am hoping to update my record so I can continue using it (obviously once COVID is over).

How do I do this? I cannot seem to find any information on the website. Do I need to submit a new application or can I just update my current record?

Anyone who has already had their interview, did USCIS keep your certified copy of your marriage license? I just realized they ask to bring a certified copy but our interview is Tuesday and due to the weather situation in Texas, I don’t think I’ll be able to get one before the interview. I have our original, would that be okay?

Take a photocopy too. If they want to keep something they will keep the copy.

Hey y’all, I just wanted to update my case. My Interview was scheduled on 02/16 and currently waiting for the letter.

    my PD Date is: 04/28/20

I have one question though, our 2nd year anniversary is in May and probably the interview will be before that, am I right that it would be a Conditional Residence?  Even if it is just 2 months before the 2nd year anniversary?

Yep, conditional residence I am afraid.

I just wanted to message you and ask if you got anything but came here first. Had the card was mailed update Friday but no follow up that it was actually picked up. I guess the winter storm is behind that as well.

Yeh I think you are right. I just got my approval notice in the mail. I guess the card will come in a few days. Let me know when you get yours and ill do the same!

My I-485 interview has finally been scheduled!! I'm beyond excited and nervous.

Question - How long typically is your interview date after they have updated the status to 'Interview Was Scheduled'?

I'm waiting for the interview date to come in the mail, but would be good to know.

Also, what would be the best preparation for the interview in terms of what should I be taking with me, in addition to the original I-485 pack I submitted and additional evidence?

    About a month for me.

Hey, a few more Qs for you guys before our interview tomorrow.

    1. Do copies of documents need to be in color or is black and white ok?

    2. Is there a place on this site that people post reviews of USCIS centers and their interview experiences there? I know there is for embassies/consulates but cna't find for USCIS.

    3. Technically, I meet the support guidelines but may still fall short. (I'm below 250% and I went back to school this year, though our current income is still close to the minimum and our assets more than make up for the deficiency.). I will have an affidavit on hand from a joint sponsor who will definitely pass, but he doesn't want me to hand it in unless it's needed. My question is, will the interviewer tell me my I-864 didn't pass and give me the opportunity to submit the joint? Or will he/she potentially not tell me and just reject it post interview?

    Thanks for your help
