Sorry hopefully they will approve soon. Is your embassy even doing emergencies and expedites? many people have  expedites but embassies still not open.

    Hang in there.

They are scheduling interviews and they expedited it for us so they are doing that. It is just frustrating when you finally think things are moving that they stop. As we all know in this process, our timelines are not up to us

  2. We were lucky enough to get expedited to the embassy...only to find out that the 2 people who process green cards there are gone until the end of the month on vacation 😢 . feels like a kick in the you know what... we can't even schedule until those people come back to work. it is so frustrating i just want to cry about it today.. I thought we would be at least scheduled by now. Such a bummer!!!!!!!

Congratulations. At what stage did you request  for  it and what form was used to apply for it?

We paid fees and uploaded all the required documents, and then requested expedite at NVC. I typed a letter explaining why we were requesting expedite (COVID, forced separations bc of closed borders and emotional hardship from these things) and signed it. I emailed it to nvcexpedite@state.gov . the subject i put as our case number expedite request and then gave them my info (DOB, petitioner,  Spouses DOB and name) and sent it!

Then you just wait for them to answer you.

I’m wondering if anyone here that has been expedited can help me understand the process a bit better.
We submitted an expedite request to the NVC on Monday (on the grounds of medical and financial hardships) and have not heard back yet, but I want to make sure we are prepared if things work in our favour. I am aware that expedites are approved by the embassy where you will be interviewing. If the expedite request is approved, are you then responsible for scheduling your own interview? I’ve seen mention of people needing their interview letter to book their physical - is this true? I’d love to hear any other input or experience that people have had with this process. Thanks so much, I’m so glad to have found this community :)

hi! I heard back after 9 days that we were approved, so wait a little longer! If approved, you will email or call the embassy to see if they received your application from NVC, and schedule the appt with them.

We submitted a request for expedite to NVC and received an approval about 10 days after they confirmed they received our request for expedited interview. Our case was already DQ at NVC in March 2020. Now waiting to hear from the embassy for interview date or instructions on how to proceed.

Thank you! I am still waiting for them to tell me they received my request, i guess. Congrats on being almost done! And good luck to getting your interview soon!! I hope you hear a date soon

    Congrats y’all!

my priority date is mid November, still no updates. Last account update was 02/23/20. Hoping to see something soon! Do y’all suggest asking for an update?

you can ask, but it’s unlikely they’ll give you one. The agents on the phone are usually tier 1 unless you request a tier 2 and even then it’s hard to get specific information if your case is technically still within normal processing times

Date change today  May 18!!, 2 months from the last one, anyone else got one??

ahhhh this makes me hopeful!!! I haven't had a date change in 2 months. I hope they keep processing spousal visas at what seems like a decently quick pace! Maybe they are trying to eliminate some of their backlog while the rest of immigration is suspended! Fingers crossed for us waiting that there are more date changes coming our way!

Mine hasn’t been updated since March 9th

I am not sure what to think of the case inquiry. It says if the case status has updated within 60 days, it means they are actively working on it. So i dont know what that means when it goes passed 60 days. It must just mean they entered information, are waiting for information or are working on other cases instead. If the 60 days passed update meant we could check, i feel like maybe we would've heard more about this. Still worth asking though!

  10. Good Morning everyone! I have a quick question: Our case hasnt seen a status update since March 20th. If it hasnt updated by May 20th, does that count as the "60 days inactive" for a case inquiry? I'm assuming no and that that is a far stretch, but thought i'd ask if anyone has heard of this being a thing to do.

Thanks guys! Congrats to all the approvals, and fingers crossed for the rest of us that our approvals are soon!
