You are correct, the only "evidence" needed is the marriage certificate. No other evidence of bonafide marriage is required for the i-485.

Hi all, just an update: we drove to Phoenix, AZ over the weekend as they issue marriage licenses if you schedule an appointment online and we found a friend of a friend that married us on the same day there. We submitted the marriage record on that day too so they said we should expect the marriage certificate to arrive in about 3 weeks in the mail. Thanks you all for your help and support.

I wanted to let you all know that I crossed by land at Port Huron in Michigan today with my K1 with no issues!

Thank you so so much! We had to cross sonner due the restriction ban they are gonna implement with Mexico starting today, which we don't know k1 are exempt. 
We will definitely keep you guys posted and hopefully we can get marry in a few weeks.

We schedule our courthouse appointment a few weeks ago for April 6th so far we have only received a email stating that due the outbreak only 2 witnesses are allowed in the room with us, I just arrived yesterday to the USA, one week earlier than expected. We are in San Diego btw

Create a new DS-160. Check the box single and don't present any type of lease. Let sleeping dogs lie. DS-160 is for the interview unless instructed otherwise. Your objective here is to present yourself as single, willing to marry within the 90 day window that starts once you arrive in the US. That is what is required for a K-1 visa. Do what is asked and not what isn't. No where in any instructions does it say to present a lease contract. I hope this helps. Hank_ may have some additional points.

The embassy agreed with my case and admitted a K-2 for our son. They passed the interview and now we are waiting for their Visa, They said that it would be done in 3 days and hopefully be in the U.S. by the end of the month. 

Again thank you all for your help, I had already Plans A through E planned thanks to everyone's input and advice.
