    3PFs. No RFE. Applied without a lawyer. i485 has also been transferred so that wait has started but for now, I am grateful. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

    Prima facie determination is basically: "We glanced over your case, and what you submitted probably does check off all the boxes".

    It's really only used for getting financial aid and some other federal benefits. Other than that it doesn't matter at all. If you get a PFD you can still get RFE'd. If you get a PFD Denial then they will definitely RFE you.

    In my case, I got a PFD Denial, and I figured that I'll just respond to the actual RFE once it comes, it came, I responded, got approved.

    Please consider submitting EAD renewal expedite request through your senator's office. It carries more weight that way and keeps USCIS on their toes. And chances of their losing or sitting on the expedite request become much lower.

    Oo.. a doctor in the making! In that case, my advice is worth $500, will send invoice later   Congratulations and best wishes for your residency journey. Also please tell everyone in your residency program that correlation = causation. I have it on authority of  @TBoneTX.

    Also USCIS issued recent guidance, adding healthcare workers to their expedite criteria. From USCIS website:
    { ALERT: If you are a healthcare worker
    Who has a pending Employment Authorization Document (EAD) renewal application (Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization); and Whose EAD expires within 30 days or less, or has already expired: Call the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833) to request expedited processing of your EAD based on your circumstance as a healthcare worker with an EAD that will expire within 30 days or has already expired. To determine whether you are a qualifying healthcare worker, see this DHS advisory memorandum (“Healthcare / Public Health” section, pages 7-9) (PDF). Be prepared to provide evidence of your profession or current employment as a healthcare worker. If the evidence you provide is not sufficient, we may not accommodate your request for expedited processing of your Form I-765. Expedited processing means only that USCIS will process the application faster. }

    Website for expedite request criteria:
    https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/how-to-make-an-expedite-request

    I know of at least one healthcare worker who got her EAD expedited after USCIS issued this recent guidance.

    I just read many pages from the above link. I have nothing to offer in advice or knowledge and just wanted to say that all of you are very inspirational people and your experiences & tales are very touching. I look forward to seeing many approvals!

    I’m sure the process may feel like an uphill struggle but imagine the view when you get to the top. All the best
