Is that a joke?  That is not good advice at all....it's reckless, in fact......Extended Administrative Processing can last for months or years.........or it could be denied after admin processing.........

but in that cases,  the immigration officer don't tell you that your visa is approved at the end of the interview .

when it is approved , it is approved , and the visa is "issued" within 4-6  business days . there is no reason to get extensive ap or denial

    Warning from the NVC website:

    After the Interview

    Important Notice

Do not sell your house, car or property,  resign from your job or make non-refundable flight or other travel arrangements until you have received your immigrant visa.

if they tell you its approved at the embassy , dont worry and save some time by already getting rid of some stuffs . yesterday i sold my car , i already emptied my apartment of all the furnitures

  3. my interview is thursday 2 and i still dont get the results of my medical examination i ve attended 17 days ago . this afternoon, i ve been to the medical center to know more about it , impossible to reach this pieceofshit of bogus physician . the center is closed on week ends , wednesday is a holiday and this guy only come back on friday 3 .
i guess that monday im gonna have to enter in berserk mode and snatch someone's head off in order to have this enveloppe .

its exhausting to constantly have to deal with idiots and incompetent peoples .

I don't know if I'm too late for this or not. I also needed my birth certificate and I went to city hall for that. They printed it out for me no problem. Tip: you can get an international birth certificate, which will have an english translation on it, it might be useful in the future. They mailed that one to me though, they couldn't give it to me right then and there.

I applied for a K1-visa, so a different one than yours, and I brought the birth certificate that they gave me in city hall to the embassy interview, and that was no problem at all.

not by that much , i emailed the embassy , they replied this morning . as the electronic version is the only one issued by the government since earlier this year . so the embassy use this electronic version in place of the original. as simply as that
    but thanks !

btw , are they cool at the embassy ?

  5. Hi fellow Belgians

I m coming up with a question about the birth certificate for the interview appointment . I have my immigrant Interview at the Brussels US embassy the 2 january 2020 . As you know , the check list on travel states say that i must bring the original birth certificate with me .

but our dear Belgium does not deliver no originals documents , they even switched last 1st of april 2019 to a full paper-free numerical format for all civil documents which are less than 100 years old

My question is , for those who already got their interview : are these document from the DABS / BAEC are naccepted in lieu of the original or they are likely to trigger some troubles?

    a big thanks

So, is DQ same as Case Complete? Or is it different?

My CEAC account still says "Your case is currently at: NVC" - if at all, does it change to Case Complete once interview is scheduled?

DQ email from NVC states that they will work with the embassy to schedule the interview next, so just wanted to know what happens exactly.

as said up above , yes DQ mean that you case is complete .   your status on ceac will stay " at NVC " till you get you interview letter , then it will change for " in transit " to the consular office

    Hi Mathcore,

Question: what do you mean by "proper certificate" - you mean you had to send an original by snail mail? Or that they were expecting an "extrait intégral de naissance"? I guess also, you had to join the certified translation. Tks.

honnêtement i dont know , its just what was writen on the letter . no reason why , no details . so i took absolutely everything available a la commune . the original is never ever  given . only copies .  an NVC dont accept originals anyways
so i join a - new extrait de certificat de naissance ( the one they ask but they refused )
    - a copie littérale d acte de naissance
    - a copie d acte de naissance international
everything got an apostille from the federal public service of foreign affairs

for the translation i did include some i made by myself on my first package ( including passport and police cert) but not on this one, as its not required . i joined them au cas ou .

That page is for all immigrant visas, so regardless of visa type all immigrant visas go by those same criteria for the 3 options. Just a difference of what is submitted via the option

yep but it changer over the time . a list was also available . now its just the exemple of the standard letter .

anyway to be honest i still dont know how NVC proceed their cases . for exemple created my case number or reviewed my documents way before ( 1 month ) the dates stated on travel states , and they also gave me the mail as the only option .  they told me that they cannot accept my " extrait de certificat de naissance " an i needed to provide the proper certificate , despite the fact that the " extrait " is exactly what they ask on the document reciprocity page for Belgium .

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-6-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html This is what travel.state has to say for ways to process at NVC. The only method that has specific embassies listed is email processing. The other two methods (mail and CEAC) do not list specific embassies, though most embassies these days are actually processed through CEAC. My husband and most others are not interviewing in the consulates you have listed and still went through CEAC to be processed at NVC

yes this page is not the same as it was when i saw it with the list . they have changed it .   also i presume as mine is a EB , the process is not the same as for Families . for exemple i didnt had to pay and file for AOS . as my i140 already do that job
