FYI My passport just arrived with the visa in it. Really surprised as I didn't get anything from DX tracking to say it was on its way. But hopefully you'll get yours today also!
Hello, how long did it take to receive it after your interview?

Hey, thanks!
Did you fly direct or did you have a layover?
Also, how strict were you guys with the quarantine? Did you stay in the whole time or did you mask up and do shop runs together?
I did a direct flight with BA because I know they know what they're dealing with. I saw some horror stories of other budget airlines not understanding the rules and denying entry.
Yes, we quarantined properly. He came out for walks with me in the fields where we weren't close to anyone else. But he stayed home at all other times, including food shopping. -

Has anyone flown to the UK during all the madness? What should I expect?
I have an upcoming trip in October and it will be the first time I have travelled during Covid. I last saw my wife at the end of February, but things weren’t really being taken seriously at that time.
Of course, if we hear anything about the interview between now and then I plan to reschedule my flight until after so she is able to fly back with me. She is very nervous about going through border control by herself, which is completely understandable. I find it daunting myself and I’m a citizen. 😅
My US husband came to the UK in July. He had no issues at customs, but had to complete a Public Health Passenger Locator Form before arrival and had to quaranteen with me for 14 days.
Here's a link to the form: https://www.passenger-locator.co.uk/en/?msclkid=ca9ffe1f86fe12114e2fa1583874bbe9&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PCU - UK&utm_term=public health passenger locator form&utm_content=UK Passenger Locator Form - Exact
I (British Citizen) came back from the US on Sunday and had to do the same. -
Does anyone know how long the UK Police cert (ACRO) is valid for?
Mine is dated January this year so over 6 months old.
It was accepted as DQ in April.
Obviously if lockdown hadn't happened i'd be in for interview before now.

Woah really? Were you expedited?
Hello. No, not expediated. Regular processing. DQ'd 10th April

I'm glad to hear that April DQ's are getting their interviews. That's awesome news.
Are these mostly DCF or NVC?
We DQ'd May 27th so hopefully we see something soon.
I just checked our ceac and the NVC still only shows that the case is at the NVC.
Is it the NVC that sends an e-mail to you when the appointment is made? or is there an e-mail from the embassy I should be expecting?
We processed through the NVC and had our case transferred to London when we moved here a few years ago. We got our LND number updated before the lockdown.
All this news is giving me great hope for good news for us soon as well.
Mine was NVC. Yes, NVC sends the email.

You're right, but I think Davu is also right. I already have access to the courier page because of an earlier conversation I had with the Embassy where they told me to book my appointment (I'd emailed them and NVC at the same time, Embassy replied first, NVC subsequently replied to say wait but I'd already registered and had access assigned manually through their help email). But from other forums I've read, the service becomes available when the case is transferred across to the embassy, which should be fairly shortly now that we've had confirmation of interview dates
Thank you!

@MattyUKtoUS @T3G please let me know once you guys try to do Step 1 of the interview Prep 'Register online'.
It's telling me "The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment" -

Grats to all of you.
Can anyone confirm for certain that they are NOT an expedite and have been scheduled?
Just wanted to verify that this is actually something new and not just a slew of Expedite's getting approvedMine is not expedite. Regular scheduling. DQ'd 10th April

This is pure speculation, but based on posts on this sub-forum and in the DCF sub-forum, it looks like only two groups of immigrant visa interviews are taking place at the US Embassy right now:
1. IR1/CR1 NVC filers who were granted an expedited interview and whose files have arrived in London.
2. IR1/CR1 DCF filers whose I-130 petitions were approved by the USCIS Field Office and who have received an LND number from the Immigrant Visa Unit.
I do recall seeing a post by an NVC-filer who had a non-expedited interview a few weeks ago, but I believe they already had an interview date assigned before lockdown and their original date was canceled and then re-scheduled.
Yes, that's exactly the impression I get too.

That’s pure BS.there can’t be that many at the embassy. Someone posted stats and IV visas are in the minority. Doesn’t make sense. Unless they are taking the 3 weeks to clear the student visa backlog
Have you spoken to NVC? And have they given you a different answer?
This update has been given directly by the Congressional Liaison dept of NVC to the senators office, so I can't quite see how it is 'BS'.
Since they only opened Monday this week, I can totally see that they might need to reschedule cancelled interviews, DCFs and prioritise students before they open up to NVC.
This forum is useful for an indication and for group support, but at the end of the day i'll take my information from the source.
And we've explicitly been told NVC is not the hold up. US Embassy London is not giving them appointments (yet!).

My husband has been in contact with our local senator to ask for his help in following up on our case. His office has been excellent and jumped straight on to it and got in touch with both NVC and the US Embassy in London. The bad news is that as of today, NVC told him that London have so far opened up no new interview slots to NVC and are only focussing on the cases already at the Embassy.

Hello everybody.
So pleased to find this particular thread.
I was DQ'd April 10th so I think I'm pretty near the 'front of the queue' when it comes to scheduling routine appointments and therefore I hope a good test case! Ha.
As of today I'm still stuck at NVC and like you all, patiently waiting!
Fingers crossed for some news in the next couple weeks.
Thanks,

Anyone at London Embassy received an interview date this week?
-
Hello everyone
I struggle with the structure of this forum and VJ in general so i'm probably not getting the best out of it. But want to join in!!
Just wanted to say I was DQ'd at NVC on April 10th so I think that's pretty early compared to some of the others on this thread. And i'm still waiting for my interview at London. Regular, not expediate. So will be really interesting to see what happens next week!
Has anyone received an appointment at London who was DQ'd around the same time - regular, not expedited?
Thank you! Exciting! -

We are about to start this process, and I have been receiving mixed messages over whether or not I should be engaging the services of an Immigration Attorney to help with it.
However, I know that this doesn't come cheap so I only want to do it if it is really going to benefit us to do so.
Could anyone offer any advice on this please? Is it straight forward enough to go through the process ourselves, or should I be looking at using a specialist?
Will having an Immigration Attorney speed up the process, reducing the time between filing the I-130 Petition to receiving my Interview invitation?
Thanks for your help, in advance.
Ben
Thought I'd share this amazing personal account from @Agie3105 which covers the entire CR1 process end to end: (link removed due to TOS).
Trust me, when you get your I-130 in and receive your NOA1 you'll feel a lot more comfortable.

Just had my interview yesterday in London. All very smooth! Was just asked to present my originals (birth cert, marriage cert, police certs). They didn't ask to see any financials such as the tax returns or W2.
Simple questions such as where did you meet, what does your husband do etc. I did get the sense they throw in a couple of wrong dates to try and catch you out. Twice I had to correct them.
Just one red flag from me (but I'm sure everyone already knows this), you can't take any electricals other than a mobile. I had my laptop and the security guard advised I go leave it with the cafe across the street (called Disctrict cafe) who have a storage facility. If this place wasn't open I wouldn't have had anywhere else to leave it, so advise you to leave anything like that at home.
All in all I was inside the embassy for 1 hour. It was very quiet. Maybe 5-6 other people in the Immigrant Visa waiting area.
