It is a non-immigrant visa because you are not immigrating on a K1. You have to Adjust Status or leave the country after 90 days (as we all know). 

Just the normal email that says reply with payment receipt and the other info for interview to be scheduled. I am going to pay the fees tonight (need to work it out as K2 is confusing me) and then email them back and see what happens!
I have everything ready to go basically so I am glad to know that it is there safe and sound now!

It seems to vary even when they were fully staffed. I would email them again if you had no response.

They replied to me today and only answered one of my three questions.
However my status was finally changed from in transit to ready!

I think the generaL consensus in this thread is that K1 visas are not in scope of the EO because it is not an immigrant visa, and so is not affected by the EO. So, there’s no need to look into whether k1s fit into one of the exceptions in section 2, because the whole EO in general doesn’t apply to K1s from the first place.

Everything after that goes on to state exceptions to the above.
 
I would also look at Presidential Proclamation 9983:
This says, for example with Nigeria (the other bans are worded the same exact way),
Note the identical wording.
 
The Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM) is the document that defines the policies and procedures use by COs to (as one part) determine eligibility for visa.

Ergo, the logical conclusion is that K-1s are not impacted by this EO. The language used is identical. These are legal documents - words matter.

I am in the same boat as you but I don’t think k1 visas are affected. 
 
I think some people are getting worried because they don’t see fiancés in the exclusions in section 2 of the EO. This is because section 1 already excludes K1 visas because it is a non immigrant visa, and section 1 is placing limits on people entering on an immigrant visa. You can’t read section 2 without reading section 1 first. Hope this helps some people who feel confused. But ultimately I will be seeking advice from my embassy for confirmation.

Exactly. All those VJ members saying that it can be considered as an immigrant visa are right, but by definition it is non-immigrant and it’s not affected. 

K1s are first and foremost nonimmigrant which are out of scope per Sec 1.

That’s how I’m reading it too. I just checked the legal references on USCIS and fiancés issued a k1 visa are are definitely categorized as a non-immigrant. And the EO itself states it is suspending aliens as immigrants. I’m hoping I have interpreted this correctly because I filed for an emergency k1 visa interview two days ago.

I hold a K1 visa and was a week from departing when the UK travel ban was imposed. I had also finished my job, shipped my pets, sold my belongings including my car and finished the lease on my house - the US with my partner IS my new home and I am now stuck without a home, away from my partner and pets etc. Most of the visas in question in this forum are almost always involved with an individual or family packing up their lives to start anew in a new country. 
We do read the news and are aware of the pandemic, but there are factors beyond matters of the heart.

Its been said previously,  K1 is exempt 

Now that the Executive Order has been signed, there may be something in place by the team to list the details. Give us time to gather the details as we want it to be as accurate as possible and to discuss how it will be on the forum.

A K1 is a non immigrant visa. Although I haven’t read the EO I don’t believe the K1 is affected by this suspension, the reason i say so is because, recently( February) Trump banned immigrant visas in my countries (travel ban) there was a debate about whether the K1 visa will be part of the ban because of the nature of the visa. I went for my interview after the effective date of the ban just before the embassy shut down. All of us present at the interview for K1 visas were either approved or denied. The CR1’s etc (immigrant visas) were asked to wait for a waiver approval due to the ban. This made it clear that the K1 is treated as a non immigrant visa although it has immigrant intent. I may be wrong but this is just my experience. If you’re waiting for your visa like me or have an interview coming up, don’t panic let’s see what happens. You can also contact your embassy for clarification on this.

1) Does not appear to apply to K-1 in general.
2) Existing visas are exempt.
 
The EO says "The entry into the United States of aliens as immigrants is hereby suspended and limited subject to section 2 of this proclamation.". To me, that means anything with non-immigrants is not impacted because that is very specific terminology when it comes to immigration.
