I was just curious bc I see this year cases are getting approved early! 
I can't wait, I am not going to lie. It is killing especially when people are getting theirs... But I will keep waiting!.

We started talking June 2017, and met in December 2018, then got engaged in Jan 2019 and filed in Feb 2019. More than enough time.

^Agree! Monday I got an email from a representative at AskNVC simply stating & providing that they got my case number. Then yesterday, around 2:45pm EST I got an official email from NVC-do-not-reply@state.gov that my petition was sent to the Consulate. There was an attachment of a .doc file in the format of an official letter with a barcode and the US Dept of State letterhead. The NVC’s electronic communication has been wayyy more reliable than USCIS!

completing the DS160 takes quite some time, especially when children are involved in the K1/(K2) process.
it might seem a good idea to save time and have this completed in advance, save and only come back to fill out the missing few boxes once a case number is assigned.
 
I had the same initial idea, however as it was mentioned before the case retrieve function often fails and all the invested time to complete and save the application will be lost.
 
Therefore my conclusion after losing the first application due to not being able to retrieve my saved information is that wait till the case number is assigned and complete fully the application from beginning till the end without saving it and leaving it incomplete.

I got my case number same date. Looks like the process is a lot faster now. Too fast for me. My fiancé doesn’t plan to come till feb of next year.

My case arrived at the NVC on 6/14.
Case number was assigned today, 6/18.  

Yay, a case number assigned! Now waiting for June 25th.. In about three years all of us here will be the most patient people on the planet 😀

Greetings! What a delightful K-1 journey! How do I find the average time that the NVC is taking to assign a case number? When I called today, they said it can take up to 8 weeks. I have followed similar timelines to mine and others are receiving them the same day or within a couple of days. I was wondering if maybe people are just not accurately updating their timelines. Any information is greatly appreciated!

May 24 here and nothing. Send an email to NVCInquiry@state.gov with the below content and don't worry about what others say about how long you should be waiting.
I bolded everything which needs to be changed before you hit the send button

I have contacted the NVC customer service line over the phone and they advised that they do not see the application being received from USCIS.
It’s been 30 days since approval. I’m afraid this might have got lost in the mail from USCIS to NVC.
 
I’ve attached a copy of the NOA2 approval notice. (make sure to attach this)
 
Please advise.

Hi all -- NOA2 14 May here. The NVC received our case on 6 June (I received an email notification), and I've just got off the phone with them now -- we have our case number. I think that'll put us on the 25 June shipment, so I'm off to schedule my medical!

This is just beautiful. Everything is happening just like I said over and over and over.  Now get out of this thread and get the thread for your country. That's where you're going to get answers about your next steps. It's just stupid logic to think you will ask a question about your country and no on here knows what the @@@@ you are talking about lead alone you are going to get the right answer.
 
Go up to the blue ribbon, select forums, then scroll down 3/4 of the page and find your sub-forum. Begin asking questions of others who are going through the same embassy as you. Someone from Germany, Spain or Syria is not going to know what you should do next because each embassy has different requirements.

Guys, @greenbaum’s right about NVC shipping out cases in bulk to US embassies on tuesdays/wednesdays every other week. Our ceac status is now showing “In transit”.
