For the most part, how quickly or slowly your citizenship application is processed is based solely on where you live and which field office you have to deal with. Why USCIS hasn't found a way to ensure that applications are processed at a similar speed NATIONALLY and regardless of where people live is beyond my comprehension - it's called DISTRIBUTION OF RESOURCES to match needs. It should never be the case (assuming all other case factors are equal) that a person in one city can become a citizen in <6 months while someone else (with the exact same case features) is forced to wait 1-2 years before the marathon ends. How is that fair or efficient?

My original interview was scheduled for 3/23 for Manhattan office. I was just notified that my reschedule interview is 8/12.

You can update the SS record anytime later on. No need to rush. Remember if your certificate gets lost in the mail, that a lot of money and lots of months to get the replacement.

I just got the email!!! I cant believe it, i checked today in the morning and didnt get anything. Passport was shipped! Like others, it is 4 months.

I just received my naturalization certificate back today Jun 30. It came in a regular yellow envelope

Finally!  Today came in the mail! I’m so happy! I’m wondering if the pass por card will mail separately? I just got the passport  I’ll keep you guys updated

I still don’t understand how Queens is open but not Manhattan or Brooklyn... they’re all in the same building, and if it’s a Covid thing, well Queens was more affected than Manhattan for instance. Makes no sense

One detail: the USPS express mail tracking number in the email is wrong - it links to something that was delivered to California in 2018! So hopefully that doesn't become an issue....

Update - I got a phone call today from USCIS and they rescheduled my oath ceremony (my cancelled oath was March 27th) to June 30th at the Federal Plaza. They told me to come wearing a mask, no guests allowed, bring green card and bring my own pen. The call was from a "no caller id" and she said that they are scheduling only 10 people at a time for the oath ceremony. She told me I should come even if I don't get the notice in the mail because it might take some time for me to receive it by mail. My USCIS account now shows that new oath ceremony was scheduled! Very happy to see that there is progress in NYC now. 

Curb your enthusiasm as this will still take several weeks, if not months. But yes, there's reason for excitement because it is starting to move.

They list conflicting reasons on the website.
 
First they say its because people shouldn't be traveling.
 
Then they say it's because of limited staff.

Logged in yesterday, the estimated completion time was back again, still at January 2021 for me , but at least it hasn't crept up.

I did not even try for expedited service when I applied, but the passport agent asked me if I wanted to. So it might have been possible. As of today it has been 6.5 weeks since I applied. Hopefully my application gets picked up soon. I just want some assurance that it has not fallen down some hole somewhere.

Which speaks to his cruelty and psychopathy. He has no concern for the chaos he is causing for millions of people right now. His actions are sick and toxic.
 
A sane and competent president would NEVER make such an announcement via TWITTER at 10pm in the evening and with ZERO details.

Every single travel ban, immigration change, border closure etc etc has caused separations between US citizens and non-citizen family members & relatives.
