My husband works long hours so it is just myself and my three year old all day. She really needs to get out but I can't drive to take her anywhere. Or do anything.
I want to work so we can get our own place as we are still at my in-laws. We have the house deposit but need the second income. That's literally the only reason. If we were rich I wouldn't work lol.

Honestly, I am struggling. With the news that Australia won't open this year even when vaccinated?? I am just upset that my parents might not even meet my child until she is close to one. I can't distract myself as I can't leave the house to work or even drive. I just want something good to happen, haha. I don't have any friends here so the days are just long. Sorry for the rant lol.

Also my i485 still only says “fingerprint taken” and not ready to be scheduled for interview like most people. Still grateful though ☺️. (Queens nyc filer, pd 8/19)

Still ahead of me and I had biometrics in September!

Thanks! I am just hoping I haven't wasted time by not checking in sooner. Probably not. Or at least telling myself that makes me feel better!

No lockdown but once the pandemic is a little more under control (Husband has renal failure and I am pregnant so high risk) I am going to get a hair cut and a manicure. Plus my parents are traveling as soon as they can to see us.

So, I checked my status today and my EAD updated to finger prints were taken yesterday. What a coincidence the day I contacted them to check. Oh well, maybe that means the ball will finally start rolling. I am going to do to same for my daughter today and see what happens. Frustrating but at least it's done!

Did your biometrics notice say that the appointment was pertaining to the I-485 as well as the I-765? If so, I suppose you can contact USCIS. Either way if your biometrics appointment was for both, I highly doubt that anything is going wrong besides your case status neglecting to update.

Yeah I contacted them and they said that it was applied to both. So just the waiting game I suppose.

Only my two actual AOS updated to fingerprints taken even though I got them for all of them. I googled it and apparently that was normal but now I am worried lmao.

I am at that point in the AOS wait where everything is boring - plus with a cold winter (for me) and pandemic on top I haven't been able to do anything. I am also from Australia so my quality of life hasn't improved by moving here or anything like it would if I came from a different country.

BUT I love that I am here with my husband. No more 16 hour time difference. It is amazing. I love how cheap houses are where I am and once I can get a job we can use our deposit to buy our own. Even though the healthcare is expensive; I have enjoyed the level of care I have received as a pregnant woman. Everyone is super friendly. Central heating is amazing too!

Yes. I saved for a deposit before I moved but I can't use it as I don't have the income to afford to live yet haha. It is so frustrating. We are SO close and yet so far and it is totally out of our control! I mean, I am still so glad I am here as I was one of the few to get a K1 interview during the ban and make it but I am still frustrated by being so stuck!

He desperately wants his SSN too. It's unreal that they want the immigrants to be self-sufficient but then won't let them work for months or longer. 🙄😒

 

Oh that is so exciting. I have only seen people do EAD. Didn't know you could do both. Does he have a job offer or what was the reason? I have only seen job offers get them.
I want one asap as I am almost 20 weeks pregnant and we could really use my income too. Plus we want to buy a house and I want to work! God, I also want to drive and I can't as no SSN! I hope yours is accepted!

Definietly try expediting though! I was thinking of trying that myself once my biometrics are done. 

Me too. So is my daughter.
I mean we wouldn't do that much due to COVID anyway but I could at least have my SSN so I could drive places. That would be nice.
I need a job offer to expedite and it is hard to get one as most employers would rather not bother waiting but we will see!

I am so jealous of you all! I am SO bored now. I found a job I would love and I am applying anyway with a potential job offer to hopefully be used to expedite my EAD.
I know my process slowed down because of my I-944 RFIE but they have that now and it feels like I am waiting. However seeing some of you guys have your status changed to ready to schedule interview gives me some hope!

I have had so much going on that I haven't had time to finish up the I-944 RFIE but I am basically done now and should have them both ready to be sent back by the end of this week. Paperwork is tiring lol.

I would just do it. I got an RFIE for it too even though it wasn't required when I submitted. Even with things constantly changing it's just easier to submit. It sucks, especially as I need to do one for my three year old daughter lmao.

Considering I haven't sent the I-944 or the medical, I was expecting something but ... still nothing.

Regarding the biometrics appointment,  I am not so worried because I know how some offices are extremely backed up but it would be nice to hear anything at all..  rather than nothing in 3 months.. 

 

Anyone in the same situation? 

Hey I only received my RFIE for my I-944 late last week! So really recently.
However, I did biometrics a week after my NOA1.

I didn't see the states but yeah after they said not to include it and then made it retroactive.. I am not messing around lol.
