  1. Almost done with our I-944s. My three year olds is literally N/A for most things as she has no study, bank accounts or anything lol. I hope they are nice and take the age into account!
Hoping to have everything we need done and printed by the end of the week and sent off next week! Then I am hoping we get an interview not TOOOO long after as I have already done biometric. My friend who did biometrics a day before me and filed in July received her interview date this week for the end of the month. Fingers crossed!

If it’s listed on your tax return you don’t even need to state it there. If not, it says annual, if it were me I’d put how much I will receive in 2020, to clarify, what you’ve received so far in 2020 + what you estimate you will receive in the remainder of 2020 = the amount I’d put in the field.

Thanks! It says tax year.. But should I just do how much for the whole normal year.. Or should I just start from whenever the US tax year is. Kind of confusing.

The instructions for the I-944 say that the additional annual income is for the most recent tax year.

    The instructions say, specifically:

"Item Number 6. Additional Income. If you or your household members received additional income on a continuing weekly, monthly or annual basis for the most recent tax year (for example, child support, unemployment benefits) and the income was NOT included in your or your household member’s tax return transcript, provide the amount of additional income and all information requested. For information on non-taxable income see https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/ p525.pdf. Also, provide evidence of the additional income from any source in the United States or outside the United States in U.S. dollars. Do not list income from any public benefits, as defined in 8 CFR 212.21(b) that you or your household members received as it is not counted towards income. Do not list any income listed in Item Number 1., Household Income"

    Hope this helps!

    It does.
So I would put the total I will receive this year in annual amount received and then the total amount received at time of filing just so far.
However, since it is talking about the tax year. Do I just talk about it starting from whenever the US tax year starts instead of the start of the year?

  4. Guys, I have a I-944 question. Regarding additional income. I am including child support. However, it has two sections. Annual amount received. Is that how much I have received so far this year or just how much I receive every year? Then there is total amount of additional annual income received? Is that how much child support I have received in the whole history of my child.. Or what?
    Thanks!

  6. I swear there should be an age limit on these things. It feels like such a joke. My three year old has no education, bank accounts, credit history etc. Everything is basically NA. It makes her look like a really bad public charge and I know they will take the age into account but it does worry me. Anyone else gone through this?

I mean I have put our assets in the family section and she has health insurance at least lol..

    Anyone else?

  7. Hey!

I had no issue with other forms as it included current pay stubs, letter of employment etc. My husband (US) didn't earn much last year but then graduated and now earns 3x the amount. However, I can't see anywhere in the I-944 to mention current income that we make now. I have seen some people suggest putting it as additional information and explaining the situation but I am not exactly sure where or how to put that. Any advice?

    Thanks

Thanks for this. Just read thru it. Most er, interesting😂 Is it just us Brits who get so wound up about food from home? When I worked in Germany, so many didnt bother with the local Markhauf German supermarket.....they only shopped at the NAAFI😂...unless there was a bus organised to go to the US PX😂😂😂🙂😂😂😂. Hey ho, each to their

Nah! I'm Aussie and I have already cried because I miss food. The food in the Midwest is SO different (and boring) compared to what I had in Australia. I miss the healthy eating and so many things I could get there that I can't here. It is even worse as my three year old only ate sausages and cheerios in Australia and they don't exist here. I recently have been sent some care packages from friends and family of Australian snacks so that is nice! But yeah, I know I need to adjust to US food but.. it is hard! It was fun when I was visiting but now that I am permanently here it's less so. Plus I am pregnant and super nauseous with food aversions so it makes food even less appealing. Fun!

Yeah the main timely things are education equivalence and the letter from credit bureaus - if you have those you're doing good! I don't know about your daughter I'm afraid!

I got those both done back in August when I thought I was going to submit it. So they should both still be fine!

No updated status for the RFIE yet. I doubt I got lucky though. Only a matter of time.

I will go through it one more time, but this is what I currently have. I know you don't need to duplicate documents already submitted with the I-485, but I'm still going to send them again. If anyone else has other suggests please do say!

    1. Copy of Marriage Certificate of Beneficiary and Petitioner (proof of name change)
    2. Copy of Beneficiary’s UK government taxable income statement 2019-2020
    3. Copy of Petitioner’s 2019 IRS Wage and Income Transcript
    4. Copy of Petitioner’s 2019 IRS Tax Return Transcript
    5. Copy of Beneficiary’s Savings – Bank account statement covering 12 months
    6. Copy of letter from Equifax demonstrating no current credit record for Beneficiary
    7. Evidence of Beneficiary Health Insurance
    8. Evidence of Beneficiary’s degree and certifications
    9. Evaluation of Education Equivalency
    10. Evidence of Occupational Certification
    11. Evidence of Beneficiary’s certifications in English and other languages

Oh I have all of this already so this is easy if I do get an RFIE. I probably will but just had biometrics first. My three year old though. She has nothing for the beneficiary so it's mainly just my husbands information, right? None of mine?

We had biometrics yesterday on the 10th. Case tracker right now for I-765 and I-485 both show fingerprints taken now. I-131 shows “case was recieved” like usual as the biometrics weren’t for the I-131. No sign of RFIE for I-944.

Same status for my information too. I wonder if we will get the RFIE later. Even if we didn't I would get it done to take to the interview just in case haha.

  11. Has anyone else had their biometrics appointment with no sign of their RFIE yet? Status still says fingerprints received but I do check often as I am dreading the RFIE lol.

My wife’s AOS biometrics appointment is today, is there anything besides her passport, the biometrics notice (including the sheet they sent her to fill out), and our marriage certificate that she needs to bring with her to the appointment? Thanks

You're good. I forgot my marriage certificate and they let it slide even with the name change thankfully. Don't do that though lol.

  12. Hi guys!
I arrived in the US in July and the social security offices were closed. So I applied for my SSN via the AOS process in August. I am not sure how long that will take for EAD/AP but I have already done my biometrics. This was disappointing but not a huge deal as I don't want to drive during winter as I am new to snow and my daughter and I were successfully added to my husbands health insurance - which I have used no issue.

However, we received a letter each the other day requesting SSN for both of us. I know that it isn't a legal requirement to provide one. So, is this just a simple phone call stating so or should I be prepared to argue my case. Does anyone have any advice?

On a side note I believe now finally the local social security office is open. However, it is too late to go there and request one right. I94 has expired and I changed my name to my husbands. So, it's just a matter of sitting tight until that combo card, correct?

    Thanks!

You submitted in August and you're at that point already? Wow.... I haven't heard anything other than getting my receipts! congratulations1

I submitted towards the end of August and I had my biometrics including AOS a few weeks ago. Still waiting for an RFIE for I-944 though.

Just checked my status wondering about RFIE and instead it was finally updated to "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken"

  14. Myself and my K2 had our biometrics last week and there's been no change to our status update yet. It still just says fingerprint fee was received, case was received for K2. I don't know whether I should expect a change or not? Also no RFIE for I-944 here still.

ALSO I forgot to bring my marriage certificate for my name change on my application. My ID was my previous name so didn't match. They let it slide luckily but don't be silly like me!
