There is no Readiness form. Make your medical appointment when you have what is needed to take to the exam....police, certificate, shots, patient summary from your GP, any write up you may need on previous health conditions, AND something showing your LND number.

    Not sure what you mean.

There is a letter that comes saying your approved petition file n is in London and you may apply for the visa. It has a link to the K1 instructions. It has your LND number.

I would just like to query "the something showing your LND number" part.  Would a screen shot showing status be enough or do I have to also get my invoice ID and register on CEAC and get a print out from there, just looking for confirmation, thanks

    What?!??! 🤦🏻‍♂️😳

To clarify I changed my GP 2 years ago, when I applied for my vaccine records my past vaccinations from my previous practice where not there, even though said records should have been passed on to the health board and transferred to my new practice.

I even called NHS Scotland to get my previous medical history from them but was just referred back to my current GP.  However my current GP has not been very forth coming with regards to providing me with vaccinations and would only offer me the hep A + B combi (this was back in January) which I decided to take seeing as I had no record of any vaccination history at all, which I know not to be the case but wanted to cover that base never the less and have subsequently had to get all other required vaccinations privately, which sucks considering I have read others have freely and easily got access to said vaccines without issue through their own NHS GP practice

Booked in for 4th July - I’ve said that my vaccination chart either needs updating to reflect that I’ve had it (if I have) or I need it - and was told that’s fine 🙃. Will get a new vaccination chart and healthcare summary printed afterwards too.

I always sweeten the deal when I ring up demanding things from my GPs...”I appreciate how much of a pain I am, but just think how much money the NHS will save in prescriptions alone when I emigrate 😆😆😆.”

Sweet, I called up and got my NVC number and booked my medical in for the 2nd.  Your GP surgery seems very helpful and went out of there way for you which is awesome I on the other hand was not so lucky on that front.  The only thing they would offer me was a hep A & B combi (which I don't require for the visa, but took anyway 😅) everything else they told me they would not cover and would be required to get externally, which I have, all but pertussis.  Many of the major brands like boots and Lloyds don't seem to do them, even Knightsbridge themselves only give revaxis.  I even called to query it, but the answer was flaky so i managed to source it from emcare travel health clinic for this coming Monday just to cover my bases, fun time 😆😅

That would 100% be my luck 😂🙈

only reason why I’m debating it, is because the flights go from £385 with no transfers, the following day they’re at £565 and then the week after they in the £700+.  The flexibility premium is only £60 for all 3 of us. I’d still have to pay the difference in flight costs if I changed, but gives us a chance at bargain priced flights, if that makes sense?

I totes get the holding off, I’ve always been one to do nothing until you’ve got it in hand, but on the other hand I could potentially save over a grand for the sale of £60. Ughhhh.  I also do not want t jinx myself.

Totally makes sense to me when prices start to just continually climb going into the summer.  For the sake of £60 as a backup I would be inclined to take a punt and cross those finger and toes that everything goes through as you hope 😋

Tdap.  The P does not stand for polio in US immunizations. P is pertussis.

    The child version is DTP

Many children in the UK are given a quadvalent shot of DTP+polio so have had the dose of pertussis and only need the Td because it may be more than 10 years since their last dose of tetanus.

If there is no history of any tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis Immunization, then the US recommends adults start with Tdap. Immigration will accept DTP (the child dosage) in lieu of Tdap (the adult version).

You miss read my post or I did not do well enough with my grammar, I'm well aware the p does not stand for polio.  The point I was making is Td (tetanus diphtheria polio) is easier accessable in the UK, Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) is not and even if you get your vaccines done in Knightsbridge as opposed to your own GP you will get a shot of revaxis which is a Tetanus, diphtheria, polio vaccination which they Dean to be enough to fit the criteria

  8. Most places it will for the most part always be a Td vaccine as opposed to Tdap which covers tetanus diphtheria polio, to get pertussis you would most likely have to goto a specialist travel clinic.  Even Knightsbridge themselves only give revaxis which is the Td vaccine and they will sign you off as having all the required vaccinations with that

Are the processes the same. Our visa category is cr1

Ohh sorry no I just looked at the name @Wuozopo mentioned along with the timelines he linked to and presumed it was k1 without looking at your own timeline, and obviously the process is different, but I see you already asked a similar question on a different thread and got a response from @LLandTT

Who's timeline and response will give you a greater indication

    https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=327535

  10. Yeah some of the timelines go a whole lot faster depending on how desperate the person is to make the jump, @brandonflude1 has a pretty quick timeline from NOA2, until interview and is going to be at POE next Wednesday, so he might be able to splash more light on his very recent experience too

The reply from user Mike E.

His country is  Myanmar and he gave you replies describing procedures for the consulate in Rangoon. It's not the same as London so the Mod said don't offer advice in the U.K. forum unless it's about a London procedure. Most everything he sa

Lol I knew I was missing something thanks 😆🙄

  12. So just a little update on this peeps, and to help any fellow Scots this may effect :-

*fresh copy of my decree (court stamp clear and legible, signed by sheriff clerk)

    * Copy of Writ filled to the court

    * action of divorce signed off by the sheriff in email with digital signature

    * Letter from lawyer confirming they represented me and confirming date of divorce

    * Nice little letter directing them to there own source material highlighting that's Scots law divorce decrees are signed off by a sheriff's clerk and will not show as a judge/magistrate.

...as of yesterday I got issued my nao2  🎉

Hey all, my visa just got approved! I'm looking to book flights rather soon, can someone please explain to me why I keep seeing posts where people have got a return flight? I was just going to get a one way ticket, but I keep seeing posts on here recommending a return but I'm unsure why?

Yeah I have found even looking up the identical flight going out with the same airline booking one way more often than not actually works out more costly than putting a return on the booking which does seem counter intuitive, it's quite odd but is representative of all the airlines I have checked

    Ha!

I got approved for a tourist visa a couple of years ago (I visited for 6 months, so couldn’t stay on an ESTA) - and when the interviewer told me I was approved, I gave an excited high pitched squeak, to which he laughed and told me to say hello to Phoenix for him 😂😂.

I definitely follow the @Wuozopo method of reading everything I can find in here that in any way relates to the K1 visa or anything leading up to it, so I’m hopefully prepped and ready for whatever comes...but like you, find it a lot to process, so breaking it down in stages in terms of what I focus to read up on  (I also created a little timeline for myself - step by step, get birth certificate that month, ACRO that month, have MMR jab that month, etc, so I don’t miss anything...it’s also helped the time pass, because I constantly have something to ‘look forward to’...well, maybe not look forward to, no one likes injections at the doctors, but feel like I’m ticking off my list and getting one step closer to being permanently reunited with my fiancé).

My plan is to have my interview in the second week of September, so will then have around nine weeks before I hopefully leave on 19th November (if the visa is granted, of course)...so will be spending those nine weeks intensively studying the AOS guides and forum section - but not focussing too much on it yet, lest my head explodes!

Yeah I defo feel like I do as @Wuozopo has stated and read lots, and feel like I have a pretty good idea of the process and don't really need to ask a whole lot of questions, as for the most part they have already all been answered, rrpeatedly,  the only issue then is I feel I spend more time just lurking and not engaging in any conversation 😅

Oh no not at all. I mean during a lot of my previous trips Courtney had to work at times so I got used to it then to some extent.

It's different (better) now though as there's so much to do, from prepping tea, cleaning, sorting stuff out, uni work and even just walking to dog. It feels different but it's not bad different :)

Glad to here it and hope it stays that way and you settle into your new life, and it becomes home for you

So, it's okay to proceed with scheduling the medical exam even if we haven't received the packet? Is it also okay to then schedule the interview?

If you have called up the NVC and have your LND reference number then you can procceed

As per what @Wuozopo stated in page 1 of this very thread

    "

If you get in the system, then you're "allowed". Otherwise it would say "case not found" or something like that.

London's set up is based on assuming a beneficiary will not know what to do next in the process until they receive their letter of instruction from the embassy saying-- we have your approved petition so you may apply for a visa now. And they tell the beneficiary the instructions are found on their website https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

That's only way many people know what to do next. Noteverybody is on visa journey picking up tips and tricks.

The ACRO is valid for 12 months, but I always like to have my documents within the most recent 6 months (I got my ACRO Late december), February was the medical date

Just to clarify on this again the ACRO has no validity period in itself

"Length of time for which a certificate is valid
There is no set period of time for which the Police Certificate is considered to be valid.
Embassies, High Commissions, consulates or other authorities will usually require you to produce a Police Certificate which has been issued less than six months before your visa interview or travel date.

Some countries will only accept a Police Certificate which is less than one month old. It is your responsibility to check with the relevant authority before making an application."

as per the official site https://www.acro.police.uk/Police_Certificates_FAQs.aspx

For the interview itself at the embassy it states as per the link here :-

    https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

Under the police certificate tab for the United Kingdom

"If you have resided in the United Kingdom for 6 months or more since the age of 16, you are required to obtain a police certificate from the ACPO Criminal Records Office (ACRO).  Further information is available from their website at www.acro.police.uk.

Note: UK police certificates are valid for 12 months only.  Failure to present all necessary and valid police certificates at the time of the interview will incur significant delays to your application"

Which matches up with what Luke is saying.

However for the medical the actually states they want it within 6 month of issue as per this link :- https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/medical-examination/

Under the required documents it states specifically

"For applicants aged 16 and over, a UK police certificate (known as an ACRO) issued within the past 6 months"

So again just be wary of applying for it too soon as it may not be valid when you come to a really use it 😆

Thanks! Should I have my fiancée bring that to the embassy interview?

Mogi I see from your time line you have just filled, so I would hold off on the ARCO until closer to NOA2 is issued otherwise you run the risk of your ARCO expiring, although the ARCO itself has no expiration date the USCIS request specifically that it be within 6 months of going for your medical.
