Yes, thank you @FridayGirl@69I hope and pray that you get yours within a month or two, at the latest! It’s a long wait time. Hope that it’s a smooth process and you sail through it now. I’m excited for you and wish you all the best for your interview!

I did not realize there was such a long lag time between approval to courtesy letter, request for medical clearance, interview request, interview & finally approval. That’s another 8-12 months to factor in.

The reason I’m curious is I did not file for AP so I have not gone back home for almost 5 years now. I’m wondering if I should if the wait time is so long. My grandparents are old and I would like to visit them.

I would suggest people file paperwork esp. work permit early on and renewals too due to this long lag time. Before I heard you would have everything done in 8-12 months, now, the process is 2-3X longer. But, let’s all pray for a positive outcome even if it’s a long journey. We have already overcome the worst part.

Best of luck everyone! Hang in there.

@Modu. Please print out your case status through the USCIS website and keep the screenshot on your phone, email and photos. It will have the date it was approved and when you received the notice.
If he still doesn’t give it to you and gives you a hard time when you ask nicely, please call go to the precinct closest to his office and file a complaint against him. That is abuse of power! Keep records and document everything.
Don’t say or do anything else. Be nice. Ask politely. But, if they continue to deflect and waste time and avoid/ignore your requests, then please file a police complaint. It does not take that long to review EAD/I-765 receipt notice/approval notice. It’s 1-2 pages long! You did not have a denial. He can always make and keep a copy for his own office records and give you the original document. He is giving you the run around. I wonder why, though? Best of luck!

Aug 2017 here. I only got courtesy letter, nothing else.  I would renew EAD in Aug/Sept. You will have to send in another application it does not automatically renew.

I think it’s always helpful to enlist the help of your congressman to inquire on your behalf.
it has always worked for me whether it was about EAD, VAWA delay, Approval letter and transfer notice.
I noticed they always respond faster when your congressman inquired on your behalf.

Thank you! Yes, I’m waiting for to hear that the case has been transferred to my local field office. Congrats on the good news. Thank you for your support.

Based on my research, c31 falls under automatic extension if you file 180 days before the expiration of your current EAD card. This uscis mandate came into effect in September 2017. It applies to certain categories, including those with c31 based EAD cards.

Thanks the heads up, dear. I really appreciate it. I’ll follow your advice and file for an EAD c09 extension soon.

    Gn! 🙏

Hi @Stillwinning!!!😊! I got the update that it was approved in April 2019 but no news since then. Congrats on the news about transfer! I’m waiting on that. 🤞I think you, me & strife filed around the same time. I previously had EAD another under category so my c09 was denied and soon after I got my c31 based EAD in April this year based on vawa approval. So, for now, I’ll reapply for c09 based EAD (just in case). But, let’s all hope and pray for positive and expedited decision though.

Thanks for sharing and for your time, energy, support  & encouragement. This community has been invaluable in times of uncertainty.

Don't depend on case status updates from their website. It's not current. I suggest that you schedule an appt with Infopass https://my.uscis.gov/en/appointment/us . Since you received your notice by mail, I think your case might be outside the normal processing time. You said you applied for the c9 category rather than the c31 category. Find out more  information here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

Do you have the receipt number? Check your status online. Or file an Infopass appt or file an e-request? I think that timeline exceeds the estimated time range. Consult with a professional about your options.

    Congratulations .
I Believe if you got this update online for i360 that's mean your vawa got approved and USCIS issued c31 Ead card .
