If you are a citizen or Greencard holder (in some cases) you can apply. If you need assistance let me know. It's not like the private sector application process.
The NVC uses contractors but there are thousands of federal jobs out there. Some are located outside the USA if that's your interest.
I know it was a joke about how they just get paid and chill... But you just don't know how true that is.

Do you know for sure that other categories are scheduled based on PD? I was told by NVC reps it's all about CC date and PD just to make sure it's current. I'll be super happy if you are right as I'm an EB2 with PD in Feb 2016. CC April 17, 2019.
Yes it is both. Sorry for not being clearer. For cr1 and ir1 the pd doesn't matter for scheduling. However for other family categories the pd has to be current. Im busy at the moment but as soon as i get time ill locate it on the gov website and post the link. Perhaps im not explaining it clearly. I think its always best to read for yourself also. So let me get the link.

For anyone who cares to know...
Unfortunately not every person posts on VJ. So the statistics on VJ are not exact (although they are still helpful).
It may seem as though many IR and CR interviews are not given out because not everyone is using VJ.
Here is the April report from the Department of State where you can see how many are given for each category at each embassy:

Someone with cc 30th of April got interview date today. Pd 7th February 2018. I taught they scheduled it based on PD this time around
It depends on the category. Ir1 and Cr1 is based on time in que after CC. Basically based on CC. You wait in the CC line with all those in that category. If your category is something other than spouse married to American citizen then its based on PD. Ill post the link where this is explained later.

More physical time. The number of her future visits and the time she spends with you will definitely help to build a strong case.
When I came with my wife for her interview in April, I overheard another interview: the beneficiary (wife) was asked for how many times her husband (who was not with her) visited her after the marriage. She said none as he was doing his PhD research. They denied her visa application, she cried...then left in angry.
What country was this?

What is the best option for us to do?
Hi. I am the same as you. I met my husband online. We chatted daily on whatsapp for 1.5 years. I went to visit him for 8 days where we were also married during that visit. I returned to the states and changed my sur name. A month later submitted the 130 and the k3 paperwork after (as it is an option). It took 7 months and we were approved by the USCIS. He has never been to America and i only been to Nigeria the one time when we were married.
I submitted support letters from friends and family, 100 pages of chats from the beginning, middle, and current of our relationship, wedding pictures, pictures hanging out in Nigeria, emails between him and me and him and my family members.
If she can come visit you more that will help especially when you get to the interview stage.

Thank you, what if my physical address is only 1 since I was born, do I need to fill the address I provided in 1 under physical address 2 and physical address 3 under i-130a or I'll leave physical address 2 and 3 blanck?
Dont leave anything blank. Instead write "N/A"

Thank you, people that witnessed our marriage lives in Nigeria, and is it possible for her family members/friends that was not present in the wedding ceremony also make an avidavit?
Yes. And include them with your 130. Doesn't have to be notarized but it wouldn't hurt. Keep copies of everything ypu send to the USCIS because USCIS doesn't forward your attachments of proof of relationship to the NVC. Which means it wont go to the embassy ahead or you taking them to your interview. So you want to have copies to take with you to the interview.

Since we're having marriage certificate,is she gonna use her maiden name or my surname as her last name?because I heard marriage certificate is an evidence of change of lastname of my wife?
She will need to take the marriage certificate to the SSA to have her sur name changed. Then go to the DMV to update her state ID/license and send a form to the US State Department to have her passport updated. But she should also update all her accounts with her new sur name (bank, employer, etc). The IRS will get updated by the SSA.

Hi everyone waiting on Lagos and everyone else waiting on their respective countries too.
I just wanted to share how I feel.
Sometimes in this waiting I am sad as I wait to be reunited with my husband; the man given to me by God who ordained our relationship.
We all keep ourselves busy with day to day life with this longing always lingering in the background.
But praise God, our Lord, who loves us with perfect love. Who has every good intention for our lives. For our God is intentional.
This hurdle that is in front of us will be thrown into the mist of the sea. Far be it from us to not have faith even when our anguish may sometimes keep our eyes from seeing the good end God has already done in our lives. He has done it.
“Through it all, my eyes are on You. And through it all it is well, Lord.”
Patiently wait on God and let it be well with your soul. We will not be cut off from our expected end.

Whilst we patiently wait I thought I'd create some data for each country from the spreadsheet showing min, max and average times from CC to Interview Notification (this data doesn't seem to be anywhere)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14Z0dJFAllOdEszZrK0D3rdtVtZgHy4SyGmsBq8972oY/edit?usp=sharing
Mods: If this isn't allowed please delete.
Note: This is for approx. 4000 entries in the spreadsheet and goes back a number of years. I've cleaned up some of the data but not much. I also removed ones that had 0 days between CC and Interview notification as I think thats suspect.
Thx!!!

Can you call them and ask please. Can call because I don't have calling airtime.
Sorry I can’t today. I’m at a seminar right now. Then I have a 2 hr commute or longer home. Someone else here posted a minute ago that they won’t say what countries they are working on. When I called last week the guy I talked to , although not rude, was not forthcoming or helpful.
