    Hey guys....our IOE petition was approved by USCIS on 4/1/19 and I'm very happy to report that its finally been received by the NVC......7 months later.

    If you're waiting in limbo like we were, don't lose hope.  Just keep escalating and work the process like others have posted here.  Good luck to you all.

    Hi...40 days was an estimation but i have looked up the actual timeline.....

    9/12   filed the last service request via phone
    10/4   received a letter stating a supervisor would review case and action would be taken within 60 days of receipt of the letter.
    11/2    email from NVC...case received
    11/5    email from NVC....case number and Invoice ID!

    Been a long wait, but things are moving fast now.  Coincidentally, I'm in my wife's country visiting her as we receive this good news.  😀

    It's hard to know, but we were currently about 40 days into a 60 day service request period where a supervisor was reviewing the case.  We never contacted an ombudsman or congressman, but that was next.  Good luck, everyone.

    Congratulations Larryday... n 7 months to just get the case number from NVC. You must have had great patience during whole process.

    I had an IOE. The experience with Uscis was great. We were approved in 2 months. Since March we are waiting for case number from NVC. This is being a nightmare as we are Reaching 4 months waiting just for a Case number. Until today I just know that NVC can't access our information as it's all electronic.
    Let's see... They are refining this process but this waiting it's a bit frustrating.
    Good luck to all.

    I got an IOE number and got my NOA1 already. But worried about the next steps with the new technology.

    I'm interested in this topic, also.  Has anyone who received an IOExxxxxxxxx receipt number when submitting their I-130 actually received their NVC case number?

    Us:  Nebraska Office / Filipina Applicant

    Our timeline:

    1/14/19   Priority Date
    4/1/19    I-130 Approved
    4/2/19   Case sent to NVC

    15 weeks later, still nothing from NVC.  Calls and emails to both tier 1 and 2 USCIS agents result in no information other than "we sent it to NVC, its out of our hands."

    Calls and emails to NVC result in being told they have not received it and we need to wait.  No info on possible problems, options, or timeframes.  Very unhelpful on both ends.

    Hopefully others with IOE I-130 receipts will post their experiences and timelines here.

    Sponsors count all unmarried children under 21 regardless of where they live, regardless of whose tax return they appear on or not.

    For the OP, I concur that having a joint sponsor's affidavit and supporting documents ready is a good idea.  I agree with how "current income" is calculated as already mentioned.  It does NOT come from a tax return.  It is NOT how much you've made in ANY past period or YTD.  It is your gross pay for a full pay period, times the number of pay periods in a full year.

    If you made a hundred thousand last year and lost your job last week, your current income is ZERO.  If you took a new job last week at $50,000 a year, your current income is $50,000.  STILL the Consular Officer is going to consider the totality of circumstances in making the public charge decision.

    If your daughter is on your income tax your family size is 3 and the minimum required is $26.662 K 125%. for 2019.

    Doesn't matter if the child is on the tax return.  A USC MUST count ANY child regardless of financial responsibility and living location.

    If you can have a joint sponsor lined up before interview send thr joint sponsor I-864 with the beneficiary spouse to be used only if needed.  If not a 221g will be issued and you will have some time to send it.

    It is part of the instructions. Take into account what applies in the case.

    4. How Do I Count Household Size?
    Your household size includes yourself and the following individuals, no matter where they live:
    A. Any spouse;
    B. Any dependent children under 21 years of age;
    C. Any other dependents listed on your most recent Federal income tax return;
    D. The person being sponsored in this affidavit of support; and
    E. Any immigrants previously sponsored with a Form I-864 or Form I-864EZ affidavit of support whom you are still
    obligated to support.
  16. Thanks
    LarryDay reacted to Lil bear in Is my income enough?
    Correct .. except that the joint sponsor completes their own I864.
    864a is used by a household member if needed. Joint sponsor completes the 864
    You may get the RFE at the NVC stage. But the CO at the interview makes the final decision
  17. Thanks
    LarryDay reacted to Lil bear in Is my income enough?
    Yes you have a chance. The current full years income ,  estimated at your current rate of pay, is the first marker.  So multiply your hourly rate by the number of hours you work each week then multiply by 52 .. that’s your estimated current  years income. If that is more than $21137 then you pass that hurdle. The final decision though is made by the CO who assesses the risk of the immigrant becoming a public charge. If you get an RFE then you get a joint sponsor .. it adds a few weeks to the process .. or you line up a joint sponsor now and submit their I864 and documents along with your I864 and documents. Then the CO at the interview will decide.

    LarryDay reacted to Eugenia2017 in Is my income enough?
    The minimum required for household size 2 for 2019 is $ 21.137

    110% of the poverty level is irrelevant for an I-864.  I would find a good, qualified joint sponsor.......even then, the Consulate Officer has discretion regarding a new immigrant becoming a public charge....
