Interview Feb 8, 8:45
I'm admittedly freaking out at how little time I've got to get everything together, especially since I'm still recovering from Covid.
Any recommendations for how close to the appt I can push the medical?

After entry since they don't "start" production until both the fee has been paid and POE has occurred.
We're rapidly approaching our 90 days so I'm curious to see how the process goes for you since I think we'll be going through the same (our 90 days in up on the 9th). Just checked USICS and card is being produced as of today.

Received my Green Card today, it was mailed to the wrong address but luckily we still own that property. Our address changed after we were DQ'ed but case was still at NVC. We updated the address with NVC, I had confirmation they changed it and in our interview our address was also confirmed. I really just think it wasn't communicated with USCIS, if I did this process again I'd complete the USCIS address change to the "approved" i-130 forms. Oh well, completed an AR-11 online so USCIS should have my new address now. No idea where the SSN will go, haven't received it yet!
POE: Dec 28
Green Card in Production: January 8
Green Card produced: January 12
Green Card shipped: January 13
Green Card received: January 14
SSN: still waiting

Hi everyone, I had my interview today at 9:30am and got approved. Everything went smoothly. They said it will take about 3 weeks to receive my passport. I am super excited
Just a quick NOTE : Do Not Bring any sort of backpack, laptop bag or a handbag with you. Just bring your folder and necessary items like phones and wallets. I think small purses are ok too. They will not let you in otherwise and will ask u leave it somewhere else.
Good luck to everybody!

We are so relived and ecstatic that this process is coming to a close- now just to wait for the passport- we will provide a more in depth review later. Thanks everyone for all the support- don't know what I would do without this group!

I had my interview today, and my IR1 visa is approved.
They received my medical from Dr Cheema (exam done on 12/16 and report sent electronically to Consulate on 12/18).
They kept my passport and I should get it back within a few days.
I'll share and send more details regarding the interview once I'm back home.
I want to thank everyone on this forum for their kindness and generosity.
This was helpful in many ways and I hope nothing but the best to all of you who are waiting for ILs or interviews. Good things come to those who wait

I activated my visa & entered the US on January 1st, and just got my SSN in the mail today. (I had requested on the DS-260 that they send me one.) My son hasn't gotten his yet, but hopefully it's coming soon!
If anyone is interested in the actual crossing - I crossed at a land border with a Uhaul truck, with my son & my US Citizen husband. I went through the truck/RV lane, and told them I had an immigrant visa. They asked for my license plate number, which I wasn't prepared for, so I didn't have it ready. We had to wait in the truck for maybe 10-15 minutes while he did some stuff in the computer. Then we had to park and all go sit inside while they processed us. They asked the address where I would be living, and didn't ask much else. They didn't take the list I had prepared of truck contents, just verified that it was only household goods I was bringing across. They also made sure to double check my marriage date, to make sure I was getting the correct visa type (I am CR1, and they wanted to make sure to put it through properly if I was eligible for IR1, which I am not - if I could have waited 2 more months I would be!). Overall it took just under an hour total.

Hey guys! I had my interview today and was approved! Even though I became increasingly anxious as the interview neared (I'm sure many of you understand how stressful this process is), my whole experience at the Consulate was very easy! I will post my entire review after I enter the US so I can give you all the information I've learned at one time. Good luck everyone!

My husband used a large accordion folder.. like a little suitcase. We organized it based on the checklist. He took waaay more than necessary.
my husband went to Dr Mascarenhas in Nov. Nice doctor, the medical took about 2 hours and the results were sent to the consulate in 5 business days.

Update:
After my December 14th interview, I was following up regularly with the Consulate to ensure my medical report was received. I received confirmation from Dr. Zatzman’s office that it was submitted on November 25th, however almost a month later, the Consulate still said that they had not received it. The Consulate ended up requesting another copy from Dr. Zatzman’s office and I actually had to follow up and request that it be resent again as well myself (they continued to maintain that it was submitted in November 25th and did not understand why it was not received).
My passport was returned with my IR-1 Visa via Purolator on January 8th. I do want to note that the envelope also contained two police certificates that belonged to someone else and did not include mine. I have reached out to the Consulate about it.
POE via Toronto Pearson Airport on January 10th. The processing part was super quick. I was in secondary for maybe 10 mins at most and then was called and told that everything was done and that I could proceed to the exit. There was quite a few people waiting in secondary when I arrived so I thought it would take longer. I did have my baby with me so not sure if that is why I did not have to wait long. I do know that others have reported waiting longer (40 mins-1 hour or so) in secondary so I would suggest going early just to stay on the safe side.
Now at home in VA. Definitely relived that the wait is finally over. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the group, it has been very helpful! Best of luck to those who have interviews coming up and hoping that those that are awaiting their appointment letters hear some good news soon!
