    You are entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts.

    Fact: an F2a interviewing takes nothing away from a US citizen petitioner.

    Oh brother.

    F2a have been waiting for over 2 years for their turn to interview.

    What are these people taking from you?  NOTHING.

    Just because they are getting interviews, it doesn't mean it's coming at the expense of a US citizen.

    Get over your sense of entitlement.   Get over your sense of us vs them.  After all, your spouse is one of them foreigners waiting to immigrate to the US.

    Hi folks,

    I’m so relieved that my husband’s passport came back today with his IR-1 visa from the Consulate!! He can fly back to the state with us, yay!!

    I can’t believe how fast the Consulate responded to our additional proofs of my US domicile. They received our documents last Friday around 4pm local time and they approved the visa on the same day. July 1 is a local holiday and they mailed back his passport on July 2 then we received it today (July 3).

    Thank you all VJ members who have helped me throughout this long process and wish everyone who are still waiting for a visa on hand will get it soon!

    Nothing was asked like joint sponsorship or relationship proof or any othet documents but they kept passport. It happens mostly where u even hesitate slightly in interview they get u this. simple now wait nd hope for best. Pray alot from Allah. Can take months but if ends up in favor thankful to God bcz its not sure u must get visa or not. 50 50 chance game depends on case like any significant age gap or less time with each other or anything they wanna inspect.if you feel nothing is wrong in back ground  all you will must get visa.if u pray alot ask help from God he will get u done this. He is the last hope after all.

    Good day everybody!
    I had my cr1 interview this morning in Vilnius, Lithuania.CO was very friendly with big smile, we had nice talk like friends and finally I heard magic words - your visa has been granted. WHOAH.
    Even though my country is small and embassy is fairly busy, but maybe my experience will help others.
    They asked all original civil documents, no transcripts or w2.
    Questions were:
    how did I meet my husband;
    when we started dating;
    what do I like about him the most;
    why we did small wedding instead of big party;
    what does my husband do for work;
    where does he live; his parents;
    when was the first time he flew to Lithuania;
    what’s my dog’s name
    We were talking while he was looking at pictures I printed and brought, there were a lot of photos of us and the dog, haha!

    Very happy, very excited!

    @nyokie @Kartinee23 Congratulations guys! I'm so happy for you.
    Now the waiting game for the interview begins. It's going to end soon and once you are in your partner's arms you will forget about these hard times you had to go through. Trust me, I don't even remember that I was given 221g anymore unless I really think of how the interview went. The interviewer I got looked super annoyed maybe he was having a bad day. He kept reading my grandfather's affidavit and my husband's employment letter while shooting questions at me and also typing. Such a multitasker 😅 I almost felt like we were having a rapid fire round at some quiz competition. 😜 He told me everything looks good, returned my passport, kept my documents, gave me a 221g and told me to drop the passport to one of the drop off locations when they contact me. After the interview, I was so lost and broken, i had no idea what to do. I read so many 221g horror stories on VJ. I didn't want to be one of them but they approved me on the 18th, interview was on the 16th. All I think of now is how amazing it will be to be able to live with my husband everyday without having to worry about flights or take time off. You feel the same soon. Some tunnels happen to be longer than others but remember there's always light at the end. You are so close to the end of the process. Good Luck to you and everyone else here! This process is not easy but worth it in the end.
  10. Thanks

    Hi guys,
    Just wanted to tell you about my experience during  my visa interview.
    First, let me provide a bit of background. When I was 15 years old I overstated my visa in the US with my Italian passport. I left with a volunteer departure before I meet the one year mark.
    So, today was my visa interview at embassy in Santo Domingo. I was so nervous but my husband came to accompany me during the process. We get in  and stand in line to provide some documents, that process took about an hour. Afterwards  sent us to wait for our interview. We did not wait 10 mins when we were called.
    The consul first asked us to provide all the evidence we had for our marriage. We provided a photo album, flight records, money sent, among other documents. He probably took 2 minutes looking through those when the questions started. He asked the following questions:
    1- tell me about your relationship history.
    2- he asked my husband how many times he has traveled to see me.
    3- where have I travel and how long I've stayed at each location.
    4- who my husband lived with.
    5- was I ever arrested or detained by a police officer or immigration. (During this questions I explained that I was stopped by an immigration officer during my over stay)
    6-where was I heading when I was stopped.
    7-with who was I living during my stay and what did I do during that time.
    After we have answered all the questions, we waited approximately 20 mins. Then, he came back with my passport and a paper and said the worst thing in the world..."Unfortunately, you have a ten year penalty for over staying your visa. Your visa has been denied, you need to contact USCIS if you wish to continue with your case"
    At this moment, I was in shock. I could not say anything... Honestly I was about to cry. Then my husband said "excuse me, may I ask you a question. Does the ten year penalty applies to her even if she was a minor during that time?" (We had done the research regarding this topic before applying for the visa) The consul seemed confused and took the paperwork and passport. We then waited for a few more minutes while him and his colleague reviewed something on the computer. Then he asked again if I was deported which I explained to him again that it was a volunteer departure. I provide the paperwork, he makes a copy and says "this information changes our decision, congratulations your visa has been approved!!"
    I am so happy but this has been a Rollercoaster of emotions.  This taught us that they could make mistakes and is very important to be well informed.
    I hope this helps.

    Hello guys,
    I just wanted to say this to the ones waiting to get their interview dates. I understand how frustrated you are. We all have been there, some longer than the others. We are all in the boat, yearning to be reunited with our loved ones. They say it right that good things come to people who wait. This wait can get very frustrating, there is so much uncertainty, no one can predict what the outcome will be. Unless yours is an exceptionally busy embassy you will definitely get an interview usually within a month or so. It could take over 3 months or even longer for some others. But know that this will end soon. We are all so close to ending the distance. Whenever you feel extremely frustrated, remember why you chose to go through this exhausting long process in the first place and be patient. The end is close. 🙂 Good Luck everyone!
