Zoeeeeeee reacted to Meisha&Jake in 4 weeks in administrative processing scared I’ll be denied
Out of 5 trips to the USA before i moved to Jake, i only had additional security screening ONCE & it happened to be on my one way flight with Jake, with my K1 fiancé visa in hand. I had the wipe down of my hand luggage & my shoes etc. & no issues, i honestly believe it is at random

thats a completely random check, ive had it before too. They try and vary the amount of people they swab ie male/ female / young / old / white / black etc so literally anyone can be swabbed. Also it wont be recorded that you had this test anywhere either.

We're going to have a look, the 11th works well as I can get a lift down to Heathrow then instead of fighting with tube/trains and whatnot
Heathrow is so much better to drive to than Gatwick though But that's worked out amazingly for your dates hasn't it and the cruises. I guess it's the downside of Detroit being the main airport for us, it's not quite a tourist hotspot for leisure flights is it.
Going to have a little play as I can get a return for Feb/Mar 2020 and it'll be £650 ish on Delta's sight so
The initial post had the mention of a story that someone was denied or questioned on AOS as it showed them leaving the country. But Wuozopo has advised pretty much a very rare occurrence so Just me over thinking

Hey Luke,
Could you be flexible on your dates of travel? Just had a look on skyscanner and it’ll be half the price if you fly on the 16th instead of the 11th?
We obviously really fluked it with Herschell’s flights (he’s got a one way from LA to Gatwick, so that he arrives on Sunday 17th November and can then take the cruise back with me on Tuesday 19th) - it only cost £200...admittedly though, Gatwick is an hour’s extra drive from me (3.5 hours one way), however, it was an extra £250 to fly to Heathrow, which Herschell was going to book, until I told him off 😂.

Having been in the cockpit of the 787 Dreamliner and the A350-1000, I'd be quite happy on the pilots knee, there's more room on the jumpseat than economy that's for sure
Flying into Detroit is quite limited on airlines without having many stopovers, so I'll probably just book the cheapest return for as far in the future as possible. Even if I don't cancel it like you say, hope for a schedule change which I'll unfortunately be unable to accept.
Gatwick to Chicago was an option with Norwegian but then I'd have to rent a car and 6 hours later I'd be almost there.
To be fair we're looking for a June wedding so with a Feb or Mar 2020 return date I think I should be safe.

I am flying out on the 30th of May and booked a one way ticket with TC for £349! (I had to make sure there wasn't a catch like my seat was going to be strapped to the wing of the plane or the pilot's knee.)
If you prefer you could still do the round trip with a bigger/better airline and just cancel the return leg a few days upon arrival. If you actually want to fly back for a short visit once you have your Greencard, you could chance it and potentially have a flight already waiting for you. It is probably wishful thinking but there is a slim chance it might play out that way! If it doesn't, once again just cancel.
P.s flight schedule change is highly likely for flights booked so far in advance. This opens up the possibility of a refund if you choose to not accept the "unfortunately unsuitable" change proposed. I discovered that by accident with VA (of course review all TOCs before purchasing anything from anyone).
Congratulations and good luck.

Hey everyone, spammy Luke again!
So finally, the time has arrived to book my flight out! (May 11th) and then I remember reading someone's horror story about their AOS being declined because they had left the USA before receiving their AP. This boiled down to them cancelling their return leg of the flight but it not getting recorded correctly by the booking agent. They hadn't actually left the USA but the system showed that they had.
My question is, would it be safe to book a return ticket for say February 2020 and then file AOS/EAD/AP etc?
Or sell one of my spare organs for the one way ticket to be on the safe hand? (Return works out approximately £650, where as a one way eyewateringly costs £1675!)

Zoeeeeeee reacted to helen83 in My interview experience today and verdict :)
So I've now just got home. Had a 2 hour train journey to kill time on so have posted my review but I wanted to thank everyone who has advised me, answered my questions, calmed my nerves with their experiences. I would never have been so prepared if it wasn't for the help this site provides so I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I'm not going to write up another full review in this post but I just wanted to confirm now I've experienced it that the interview part really is the easiest part. Not anywhere near the horror stories I had put into my own head and really was a great experience.
So on that note I guess you can all tell that yes I got....
APPROVED!!! YAY!!
Thank you all again for everything

That’s what I mean - first big day (cause it’s the final day at work) but also last big day (cause it’s your last day there!) 😆.
You’re thinking of Vegas for the wedding, right?

Zoeeeeeee reacted to Paigepaige in K1 approved!
My fiancé and I went for the K1 visa interview in London today.
All the documents they asked for was;
DS160 conf and instructions
Birth certificate
I-134 & tax return
Visa photo
Passport
After we sat down and waited for the interview (by far the easiest part of the whole process)
The only questions they asked us is what I do for a living, how we met and our wedding plans. He then thanked us for being a very easy case to approve and congratulated us!
Fingers crossed for a fast return of my passport.
Good luck, it's definitely the easiest part of the process.

Luke, I’m absolutely delighted for you and Courtney...I’m praying everything will be as smooth for us! You hear a lot of negative stories, so loving your positive one 🙌🏻.
Now the countdown begins, 1st May is the first big day, right (well, last big day depending on how you look at it!)?

Love reading your posts. Haven't seen someone so detailed, observant and specific yet. I guess you going thru this gives you a better perspective and makes you objective, more objective then any of us going thru the process right now. Quite a refreshment!
Tbh, I won't be relaxed until I'm in the fishbowl on MIA looking for a ballon that will most like say "Congrats, it's a boy" or "Happy 50th anniversary" cuz my future husband will remember the "Welcome" ballon last minute and that's only ones they will have left in the store lol but thought it's to detailed to post 😁😁

No problem, it was very easy to get a certified copy. I thought it would have been a bit more difficult to get mine as I was born in Greece, but I had no issues

So I had no idea where my birth certificate was so I applied a copy by going to https://www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate. It took around a week to get it and when I received it, it states clearly that it is a certified copy.
I have attached a picture of it below.
