    Congrats!
You may file for ROC 90 days before your green card expires. Make sure to continue to gather evidence of bona fide marriage until then. You will need to submit evidence since the date of your marriage. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-751instr.pdf

After 20 months of waiting we moved from fingerprints received to interview scheduled! Yay!! We have everything together except the medical records, and I’m a little confused how that works. My husband did his exam in Kenya with the approved facility and was given a sealed envelope. However, he said they took that envelope when he arrived in the US and he was never given it back. I’m not sure if that’s how it is suppose to work, but that’s what happened. Now it is interview time in a few weeks and he needs form I-693. Anyone else have this happen? If customs has it, does that mean USCIS has it or does he have to do the exam again or what? The interview is not until Sept 22 and so we have time I guess. Also, no RFEs, it just took forever because we are in Houston I guess.

Thank youuuuu, @Juls801.  It got approved. yayy.   It went pretty smooth. Bring your papers well organized, if you have prior passports bring them all. I did just to be on the safe side because the checklist I was using didn't request it, and the official who interviewed us asked for them. Be sure to have all your papers well organized so if they ask for something, you have it at hand. She basically asked how we met, when was the first time we met in person, she aske how was our wedding, if big or small.  And then they did the whole are you a terrorist, hooker, etc... we had a LOT OF DOCUMENTATION that I sent when I sent my AOS request, so I think that helped. At the end she requested the extra documentation of ongoing relationship we brought, handed it to her, she filed it (maaann was it a big file!) and then she told us she was going to recommend it got approved. she reminded us of lifting the conditions in two years, and that I could apply for citizenship afterwards.

the longest part was the wait ... we got to the office at 12ish and we didn't get interview until 1:45ish even though our appointment was at 12:45.

    It went very smoothly.

We had approximately 30 sheets/pages of photos for the officer to look at. Each page had 2 to 3 photos on it. They were arranged in chronological order and each was labeled with when it was taken and who was in it. We had photos from  when we were dating... taken in Beijing.... then in Myrtle Beach,  in New York City with different relatives/friends... In Guilin, China visiting her sister.... Then, photos from when she arrived (last October), our wedding and the dinner afterwards (in November), Thanksgiving with relatives, Christmas with relatives... We went on a trip to Louisville to visit a friend of hers (more photos)... Visited my oldest son and his roommates in another city... Photos at approximately 6 or 8 different state parks (on a variety of dates)... (Each had something distinguishable in the background so it was obvious that the photo was taken at that park/location). We even had a cruise planned (it was canceled because of covid).  I had our boarding passes (that I printed out before it was canceled) to show him...

He looked at every photo and made a few comments and/or asked a few questions about how we liked different places....

For paperwork I had my tax transcripts and W-4s from 2019. I had proof that she is on my health/dental/optical insurance plan from work and that she was the beneficiary of my group life insurance from work... Joint checking account statements for each month this year...

He went through the application and verbally re-asked her approximately 1/2 of the questions in it (to confirm her answers). He had her sign it.

After he saw all the photos and all of the other documents he congratulated us and the green card arrived in approximately 10 days.

Hey Meg101, you may want to try calling uscis to see the status. Talk to a tier 2. I just had my husband call about where his packet was, and the tier 2 officer told him that his green card is already in production and we will be getting it in about 5 days! Woohoo!

Hi! Well done on getting through the interview! 🙂I’m an early January AOS filer in a similar situation. I had my GC interview on Thursday but was told they can’t proceed because they don’t have my medical exam from my K1 visa in my file. I wasn’t told how long it would delay things, just that he would put in a request to find it.

I really hope you guys hear something back soon! 🤞🏽😃  please update on here if you do. 🙂

We had the interview for my husbands green card today in San Bernadino. Office was pretty empty, only had to wait about 10min past our interview time.
The officer checked our ID, had us pull down our masks to check our faces. Then had us aware in and hand over our paperwork we brought in. He then went into a different room and we continued the interview over an iPad. Usual questions that are in i485, when my husband crossed the border and where, current address, how we met, what activities we do together. Also if we just had the one joint bank account or if we had others, and how we pay our bills.

The officer then told us that he did not have our original documents from this whole process(k1, medical, etc). So we are currently awaiting for them to receive that packet. We were told it could take 30-60 days. Then we will hear about the decision.

    interview took about 25 minutes.

According to a few articles I read online they were required to notify the 70% of employees that would be affected by the furlough 30 days in advance. I can only speak for myself. But, if I anticipated being furloughed in a few weeks I would probably have other things/concerns on my mind that would prevent me from operating/functioning at peak efficiency at work.

Aside from possible slowdowns (not necessarily intentional...just from the situation/pressure/other) why would they schedule many interviews (especially for dates in September) not knowing if they would be there to conduct the interviews?

I kind of figured that (if the threat of furloughs was removed) things would proceed rapidly once the USCIS employees had some reassurances/certainty that they would be working in September and that they would have adequate staff to conduct interviews.

I do expect some slowdowns, though. I read that they have instituted some severe/extreme cost cutting that negatively affected contracted workers/services. (I included a link below to one of my sources.)  That will probably cause HUGE wait times and delays if you try to call the contact center for information about your case... (And other delays based upon steps/things that utilize contracted services/workers.)

I think/guess that they might have been holding off on scheduling too many interviews because of the pending/threatened furloughs at the  end of this week.

I am not surprised that they scheduled our interview soon after the furloughs were cancelled.
