Familyman reacted to llaz in Travel Just Before Starting ROC?
Is there any issue with traveling just before the 90 days would start for ROC?
My husband's mother is dying and his conditional green card expires early April. He wants to go see her in December.

Just an update. I just check my case online and it’s now saying “we approved your application” now I just have to wait for the ceremony date and my journey will be at its end with the immigration process.

Familyman reacted to qqg3 in Why is the I751 cover letter written by the US Citizen?
Looking at form I-751 it is completed by the petitioner, i.e. the person who is currently a conditional resident.

So why are all the example cover letters written from the perspective of the US citizen, for example: "...please find a JOINT I-751 petition for removal of conditions of permanent resident status regarding my husband/wife "CONDITIONAL RESIDENTS NAME"..."

This seems wrong as the conditional resident is usually filing jointly WITH their spouse (the US citizen).

Yes the judge granted my ex annulment as he is an American citizen. There is a lot of discrimination here. A lot of innocent people are in jail.

Familyman reacted to Lorie00 in I-751 bona fide waiver ended with annulment
I filed i751 bona fide marriage with divorce/annulment pending procedings. I had an interview with uscis officer and once i handed him my annulment decree he said he can't adjudicate my case and interview me because legally my marriage never existed. If the law says that marriage never existed why does the form allows me to choose an option of bona fide marriage waiver ended in annulment? I waisted my money, time, only to go to USCIS and being refused an interview? The officer never looked at my bona fide evidence nor asked me questions. Is that some kind of loophole or misleading immigration law? I'm devastated.  Anybody knows what I can Do? File a complain, write to Ombudsman?

I think this is part of the new 'public charge' rule.

Familyman reacted to Loren Y in Speeding ticket
Shouldn't effect it at all. Not sure what state you are in, but look for a " ticket terminator" type attorney, they can get them reduced to a parking ticket and make it disappear. Benefits of this include no record, no insurance increase, no going to court,no classes ( Some states require them), and usually a reduced fine. If you tell me what city your in, I may be able to help you search. Usually only 25-50 bucks, plus the fine and court costs. You can also take care of it yourself by talking to the Prosecutor when you go to court. Get there a little early, and you should be able to find him easily, if not ask a bailiff, and all you have to say is hey, I'm going thru some immigration process is there anyway to reduce the speeding ticket to say a parking ticket. 99% of the time it's a done deal, I have yet to see a prosecutor get crazy over a speeding ticket, they will call your name, he will tell the judge to reduce it, amend it, and your on your way no record. Now, if it's speeding with a DUI, reckless endangerment, vehicular homicide, etc something a little more serious, don't expect any love from him. All the courts want is the money to be honest, and if wiping the record separates you from your money faster they are all about it. It is done all the time, so you are not doing anything out of the ordinary. Another option is to go to court, plead not guilty, they will set up a date for you and the officer to be there to share the facts of the ticket. Once again, 9 out of 10 times the cop isn't going to show up, especially if you got the ticket late at night not to many officers show up to court in the mornings after working all night, and they sure are not showing up on their day off for a speeding ticket. Officer doesn't show up and case is dismissed for want of prosecution, then you walk out no fine no court costs or anything. so, your choice, you can just pay it and move on and take the hit with insurance and stuff, but it's so easy to make them disappear, that is what I would do.
