Packets 3 and 4 are essentially paperwork stages where you submit different things. Not all embassies have these though. Like in Philippines, once NVC sends your file off to the embassy, you are on your own. I don't think Jamaica does packet 3 or anything either. Go up top left to "Portals" and go into the Jamaica forum and can see country specific threads and other Jamaica members near you. Also search top right hand in the search bar for things like "Jamaica packet 3" and see what you find.

I agree : you'll need a letter of consent, and this one should be notarized, with a notarized copy of mother's passport. I did it last Tuesday with the father of my daughter. Please feel free to contact me if you need some example.

not needed a new petition, the one you submitted for the K1 will be enough, as I understand you already listed the girl there.
She will derive her K2 from the K1 beneficiary.

regarding the sole custody: I've paid a lawyer, who petitioned at the court and the court issued a document that the Mother has the sole and full custody of the children.
This is one option, or the other option is to have the other parent sign a statement (guidelines through your local embassy's instruction) that she is giving her permission to take the child out. I yet to see a parent who will sign this....unless they accept a big payment.

Each country's law is different...you can decide which route is needed in your case.

The I-129F petition part of the process is for vetting of the USC. The next part of the process, is at the foreign fiance's interviewing embassy. It is at that portion that the K2 visa for the child comes up. Here is a DOS site link that should give you more information on the K2 process:
    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html

When we were going for our K1/K2 visas, my wife had sole custody of her son. I still suggested that she get a notarized statement from the boy's father, stating his allowing his son to immigrate with his mother to the US. We likely didn't need it, but you never know. If there are any custody issues at all, the US government is not likely to get involved in an international custody battle, but will likely deny the K2 visa. Follow the lead of the interviewing embassy/consulate regarding the K2 requirements.

Down the road during the AOS phase, this guide: https://www.visajourney.com/content/k2-visa-adjustment-of-status-tips
and the thread at the top of the K1/K3 AOS forum will be helpful.

Good luck on you immigration journey.

You are close to the VisaJourney NOA2 estimate, but keep in mind that the official USCIS case processing times (from their website) are still listed at 5.5 to 7.5 months for your I-129F. So, there probably wouldn't be much value to calling them, since you wouldn't exceed the "official" USCIS timeline until mid-August.

No need to panic, just keep waiting for now. The VJ timelines are pretty good, but they are not a guarantee. The visa process is a test of patience. You are still on track, so don't get frustrated.

The USCIS website and USCIS case tracker apps both worked for me recently as our petition was approved last week. So make sure you are signed up on both of those.

As all the other VJ'ers will tell you, you should use this time to read the guides and posts that have information on your upcoming visa steps. The more prepared you are, the faster you can navigate your way through the rest of the journey. Good luck!

Most of us here can relate........But you had been together within 2 years of submitting the I-129f, correct?

If today is the average approval of a I-129F submitted on your same date, you will likely hear soon on the petition--the VJ timeline estimates are pretty accurate.  And remember, an approved petition is only the first stage of a long process.  Even if you hear today that the petition has been approved, then there's NVC, embassy/consulate interview to be scheduled, medical exam, etc. etc., sometimes administrative processing after the interview, before a visa is actually issued.  You have many weeks and months to wait after petition approval.  Good luck, this process takes lots of patience.

All you can do really. Even at this stage, I always tell people worst thing you can do is look everyday and just think about it all the time. Hard as it may be, the less you think about it the better. Remember this is just the first of three stages, so don't panic or stress too much yet.

According to other VJ members, the average time from NAO1 to NAO2 is about 119 days.........you are right at the average now....You should hear something very soon, imo.

It sucks waiting.   The estimate is based on averages.   Some people get faster and some get slower.   I think of it how i am in a line at a supermarket and the lady in front of my pulls out a ton of coupons and pays in small bills.  The petitions get processed in batches by a person.  Some are faster.   Some petitions are easy and some are not.

    Hang in there.

We wrote a joint letter because he was visiting me at the time we filed.   We worded it “we intend to marry each other within the 90 days of Alec”s arrival into the United States on the K-1 visa” etc.  We both signed it.  No RFE.

Unless Jamaica specifically requests for banking statements, if you're using income like pay stubs, then usually banking statements aren't even needed. Only reason for those are usually for any substantial savings to show.

So again unless Jamaica strictly requires banking statements from everyone, usually don't have to if using current income.

I hope someone can help. My fiance and I have having a very hard time waiting to be together. We are trying to wait but it's becoming more difficult.  Has anyone ever filed for the K1 but then went a got married while waiting? Is that common or even a possibility? Or would that just mess everything up and make us start all over?

You are not alone  We thought about it too.. but start this all over again is a pain.. And it start being challenging to explain people why we dont set up wedding date lol
After we applied to K-1, i read more about CR1, and honestly, if i had done research a bit earlier we would have married and would have applied for CR1.

But we try our best and booked holidays in April!  So i am counting down now to this month.
