As a mod I was able to see your post above. I totally get it, it sucks. Police were involved with my ex, they brought in CAS. CAS made he take a drug/alcohol addiction test of some sort. They took their time so we were already split up at that point. The Worker called me all concerned because my ex told him he would be back in the house by June (it was May when the worker called). I would have lost my kids if he moved back in, but that wasn't enough to take away his parental rights. It is so mess up in Canada, next to impossible to a parents rights taken away. My custody agreement was he could call anytime, see the kids anytime he wanted. He just needed to give me 24h notice. I did it like that because I knew him well enough to know he couldn't be bothered. Anyway, I don't want to derail your thread with my venting. Just wanted to know I do understand and truly do wish you the best.

She actually sounds pretty perfect for you. Minus she's not a rubia. Definitely keep us posted. Oh my, I'm glad you were able to get him to go in. Big hugs. Doggy harness sounds cool. I don't walk the doxies and the Labrador is getting old and likes to just sit on the back patio or sleep.

You need to spill the beans about JC. We want to know it all

I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed for you all. My Ex liked to play victim so we never seen or heard from him. Because you know being in his kids lives would make him not a victim.

If he would give written consent this can save any delays. It doesn't need to be anything fancy. I fully understand the frustration, my older kids were 10, 12, 14 & 16 I needed permission for all 4, but like I said my lawyer didn't trust my shady Ex and had his permission letter turned into a court order. Good luck!

Oh no a leak at Christmas will cost a bloody fortune. Did you check if it was from the neighbour that you mentioned earlier? Do you have a shut off at the street? You can turn the water off to the house, fill up a couple buckets for the bathroom and jugs for drinking water. This time of the year it may take a a bit to get a plumber. If you can shut the water off to the house it will save your water bill. That sucker will go sky high fast.

NVC doesn't ask for that. It is Montreal that will need it before a visa is issued. I hate to tell you but until 18 you need a court order or parental permission. The 12 thing is only for a judge to take into consideration the child's thoughts and wishes. You're preaching to the choir here, my ex didn't pay a cent in child support. He lived 5 mins walking distance from my kids and still never saw them. He was abusive, plenty of police reports, CPS and medical records of drug and alcohol abuse. I still needed either his consent or a court order. I went with a court order, so there was no chance of him changing his mind.

She may still be required a letter of consent from the father. In Canada sole custody is not the same as in the US. I was still required to have a letter of consent or court order.

~~Moved to Work Visas, from AOS from W,S & T Visas- the OP is asking about being under his wife's TN visa~~

It is good to share your experience. Sometimes some think it's easy to just do AOS instead because they heard so and so, not knowing that entering the US on a tourist visa to adjust status is fraud. For those new readers and log time members of this thread, dmitrych qualified for a dual intent visa. This allowed a legal path to GC wile inside the US. Thank you for the update

I love that you are here asking. I'm with the others, the kids are not going to be the ones who will care for it. Sadly the parents will probably resent and be pretty upset with your wife if she does not have their permission. I'm the type that loves all animals, I have almost anything my kids or myself would ever want. Minus the goats and cows because we live in town they they frown on that. I'm still tempted to get a mini house cow. I read they can be house train too But here's the kicker, if my inlaws showed up with a cat for my kids I'd kill them. Anything that comes in this house I'm the one expected to care for it. Sure the kids help out, but it is all on me the parent. Please try to convince your wife not to do it unless she gets the go ahead from the parents. As Lemonslice mentions the Sphynx are very high maintenance, my son is waiting for but not until he buys his house because his apartment is super cold.

K1 visa possibility
Ontarkie replied to BubblyJoe's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
This plan is outright fraudulent. She cannot use a new J1 to avoid her 2yrs residency requirement or use the J1 with intent to adjust her status. That is outright fraud and against the TOS of this site.
