  1. We request the famous Crazy Cat and he appears!
  2. The 2017 naturalization review was scheduled for 9am. If yours is scheduled for 8 and you arrive at 7:30 I see you being done by 8:45.... But, not sure if they changed the way they schedule interviews...
  3. I always thought the interview times were not given to just one person but a bunch of people receive the same time and then wait to be called. Reading reviews from Columbus, Ohio I would plan to take a half day at least - go back to work around 1-2pm. Noon if the place you're interviewing at is close to your job. But, IMO I would take the entire day off... First review with a written report states their interview was at 1:45 and they were called around 2:20 (but this is for adjustment). First naturalization interview had a time of 9:00 and they were called in before 9. They don't state how long the interview lasted. But this was from 2017.
  4. Then no. Especially if we are talking DCF. But, this is taking away from OP. Have you filed the I-130 yet? Do you actually plan on relocating to the US in the next 12-18 months or are you only applying for this benefit for "insurance" to allow you to travel to and from the US?
  5. We do not know the exact situation for @Eberechi 1. This was a situation involving someone from the military/with orders- not an exceptional circumstance. Different rules for DCF. 2. Frankfurt is known for processing quite a lot of DCF cases. 3.Frankfurt will also DCF if the beneficiary is in another country and the petitioner is in Frankfurt. Especially when petitioner is involved with the military or US government. (not part of this case IIRC but I've seen it in another case). 4.The petitioner in this case wrote their senator 3 times. @Eberechi does the US citizen currently live in Nigeria? What is their exceptional circumstance?
  6. It shouldn't be a problem. You need to disclose everything when the time comes. Have you submitted the I-130 yet? If not submit one as soon as possible. If you are waiting for the I-130 to be approved go to your nearest Korean consulate and see if they have an records for you. If they do BONUS! If they don't ask them to write a letter attesting to the fact. If they don't want to write you a letter. Write one yourself. That should be adequate to get you through the NVC stage.
  7. IMO Yes DCF Still takes a few months to process so beneficiary might only arrive in US December: January
  8. Back in the day in Korea, DCF would accept foreign based income for I864 even though the consulate knew it was about to end… so… DCF has its own rules 🤔
  9. @Timona can you help out? how to get a police check from Kenya when you aren’t in the country?
  10. How did she originally get the background check from Kenya? Quite a few countries allow you to apply at an embassy or online to get civil documents.
  11. Not incorrect information for the FORUM we are currently posting and OP’s specific situation. Especially as you mention K1 a visa OP cannot pursue as they are already married. Maybe better to write “One cannot ENTER the US on a TOURIST VISA or ESTA with the intent to adjust”. More harmful to mention options that are not available to OP as that is misleading. Stick to OP’s case not general immigration advice.
  12. I've noticed NVC is DQing some cases even if the paperwork is not quite in order and passing the job of correcting the mistake to the consulate. The letter notes there is an affidavit attached to the police clearance certificate. I would get a new one without any extra information attached. If you did not alter the police certificate in any way include the visa reciprocity note Pshbrk linked above to your package so the CO knows you obtained the correct form.
  13. That's good news at least. If they still have your passport it could be better news. Advice is for your wife (the US citizen) to email Nigerian consulate and the FPU (if she has that email) to ask what is happening. But, the only thing you can do is wait now. Hopefully they will issue the visa soon. As there are no apparent issues re: the questions answers if the visa is ultimately sent back to USCIS for revocation there is nothing you can do now but wait.
  14. South Africa specific advice/opinion: You want to JUMP on that medical date. Take it and make sure you go to it... many people struggle to get appointments in SA. In addition, they can really drag at sending the medicals to the embassy so a few people have had to wait a month or so after interview to receive their visa. Others are only able to go to the medical AFTER the exam as they are so difficult to obtain. General K1 advice/opinion: I believe you are able to re-schedule the k1 interview up to 3 times after that you need to pay the fee again. In addition, if you delay the visa for too long the consulate might doubt whether the relationship is genuine. Work might come first now. But, you have to think long term. It is not just about reuniting with your love but actually obtaining the visa and being able to travel to the US. Good luck Main takeaway: make sure you go to the exam. It might be before the interview. It might be after.
  15. Do I understand correctly? You and your wife were interviewed at the embassy? Were you interviewed together or separately? Have you compared the questions each of you were asked and the answers you gave (if interviewed separately)?
  16. Hopefully, they are not doubting the relationship and they just need to conduct some additional background checks. Unfortunately, your sister will have to remain patient but it is good news they keep on updating the date on CEAC. Good luck!
  17. How did your sister meet her husband? And have they spent a lot of time together since they first met?
  18. You can do either. I don't know how long you've lived in Japan though and how long you've been filing the 2555. What do you usually write? But, I suggested: physical presence test and write the dates from October 2022- October 2023. Don't forget your wife will also have to file taxes and she should also complete form 2555. She can choose bona fide or physical presence.
  19. It is not by nationality it is by country. You got married In Turkey show your marriage certificate from Turkey. If she has lived in Turkey for more than 6 months she should also get a police background check from Turkey
  20. 1. When are you planning to move back to the US? 2. Do you want to move WITH your partner or BEFORE your partner? 3. Is it important for your partner to be able to work and/or leave the US during the first year they arrive?
  21. I used the endorsed visa in my passport for my job. Wasn’t an issue, had to walk admin through the process. It was simpler to use the visa and passport as opposed to bringing passport AND green card to work.
  22. Paging @Crazy Cat how long did it take your wife to receive her visa and passport after interview? You can read reviews for Taiwan here. People report anywhere from a week to 4 weeks because of the holiday season.
  23. This is from the link OP posted. So I assume at the US embassy UK
  24. Do you qualify for an AKA? Reviewing the documents required for it: This is more than likely for people who have two or more citizenships and do not have the name change documentation because they have one name in the US and another name in their home country. provide government issued photo ID in both names; provide two or more public documents in the full legal and “known as” names. Acceptable documents include but are not limited to: school records, tax records, military records, medical records, driver’s license, federal/state/local government ID cards, property deeds, insurance records, employment records, utility bills etc; and bring two witnesses who can attest that they have known you by both names. The two witnesses must bring valid government issued photo id with them. You may choose to bring a third public document in lieu of a witness.
