  1. I have not completed this as we are still in process - I am leaving the US next week and my 3-year old Boxer (short-snout) is coming 2 weeks after me. I have completed the CDC dog permit process (South Africa - high-risk) and surprisingly, the 4 week (max 8 week process) that is stated on the CDC website ended up being much much faster. I had a one-day turn-around and approval for entry at DFW. I myself am using a local service provider to assist me with the export via Turkish Airlines cargo, which is expensive but they have already made the process much more streamlined, if you can afford this, it is worthwhile imo. The service is also taking care of the Texas requirements for me. For the CDC dog permit application, I of course had to do the rabies titer which in South Africa had an 8-week turnaround - you will need to enquire with your vet on the turnaround time for the CDC-approved testing centre as listed on their website for Colombia. I would get started asap. You are welcome to dm me if you have specific questions.
  2. I printed the original pdfs of the most recent (2022) full tax return (I've seen other people say they brought multiple years), bank letter and a letter documenting employment from the employer. I also printed scanned copy of the birth certificate. All brought to the interview but the officer only requested the tax returns.
  3. Thanks all for your input, I appreciate your insight! In fact, I'm so ready for all the work travel to be over. I wish it was over already because it is extremely tiring. I have now booked the interview and the medical.
  4. Hi VJ fam, I travel extensively for work and I'm finalizing my projects within this month as we are getting closer to K1 finalization. I'm at interview scheduling phase and a slot just opened up at the Johannesburg consulate that I desperately want to book (and probably will be doing so after I write this post - so I am mostly looking for confirmation lol). My concern is that with work travel, I have to be available on short notice to travel to site and there is an off chance that I might need to reschedule my interview appointment - I know, I wish I didn't have prioritize work over being with my love (and waiting so long for this moment!), but sometimes this is unfortunately how the cookie crumbles, so please don't tell me "skip work, attend the interview". My question is - can I book the interview slot and consequently book my medical exam and say for example I have to reschedule the interview - will I be ok to reschedule my interview but still attend my medical appointment? I know this is probably consulate-specific but if you've experienced something like this or just have some wisdom to share, please do! Thank you!
  5. Good evening to the most patient love-drunk folks I know (myself included🙋‍♀️ 🫣😝). Update from us: NVC "sent to consulate" mail: 18/7/2023 NVC "Ready" on CEAC: 25/7/2023... furiously types mail to Johannesburg Consulate JHB Consulate sends P3 (which really is just a list of next steps & docs to bring to interview): 27/7/2023 We complete DS-160 & make the $265 payment - same day Only interview available now is 10/8/2023 - not feasible for us. Waiting for next available interview date (apparently released monthly).... [insert last-of-my-last said patience] Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting!!!
  6. Hi @Sha-Lee88 your timeline says you've scheduled and had (!) your interview now. Congrats!!! Can you share more on what the process entailed? You received two packets from the consulate? Thanks!
  7. Seems like a bunch of folks got their "sent to the embassy" mail today! Yay! Us too! Thinking of everyone else still waiting, we will all get there 🌈 NOA2: 31 March (we received it on the 3/4/23). After multiple enquiries we received a response on 30/6/23 from NVC-Research saying "we received but awaiting input". And now they've let us know its on its way to South Africa, hoping for a speedy turnaround to Joburg and to be with my babylove in Oct (or earlier)🤞🏽!
  8. We were one of the six approvals in our batch on this one, took a bit of time off to celebrate! Thanks for doing this, it helped so much with the emotions😵‍💫💚 On to the next step and strongs to all those still waiting, you’ll get there!
  9. Waaaaaa congratulations @Ngillet! We’re NOA1 14/1/22 too so *really* hoping for a positive update this week!🫂
  10. Hello! I've been a lurker for a minute but now following the appropriate thread 😊 Jan 14 NOA1 beneficiary here, waiting patiently in SA to be reunited with my partner 😖 Hope everyone is managing to stay sane in this process!
