  1. Thank you for your reply here. There is not much information out there, so I appreciate it. How was the interview and the outcome? I hope that you have gotten the visa.
  2. Hi all, We have all noticed a wait time of one year after DQ for applicants who are not citizens of the embassy location, which is sad. But does anyone have any idea how they have been doing in late 2023 and 2024? CR1 (Iranian) PD: 12/2022 DQ: 09/2023 Ankara Embassy
  3. Did you hear anything? my wife is Iranian too and we are waiting since DQ 09/12/2023. Our PD is 12/12/2023.
  4. Hi congrats on you visa issuance. We are also non Turkish and I’ve heard the same thing which is a year later after DQ. I see that you got IL really quick. do you mind to share your experience? DQ 09/12 PD 12/12/2022
  5. Ankara DQ Sep 8, 2023 still waiting for IL. CR1 case Does anybody have any updates? The case is still at NVC. Embassy declined the expedition and we are suffering as the result.
  6. I got DQ yesterday. So as you said does not matter. Marriage is a marriage. @pushbrk I am a big fan of you. I learned a lot from your posts and comments. Thank you!
  7. Thanks for sharing this info. I looked hard to find any info on Akara timeline for CR1. just filled NVC civil documents yesterday and now the ball is on NVC’s court. I hope we can get appointment before 2024 as my wife residency expires in Turkey by then.
  8. Thank you very much! I assume identification card is the same. She has both Turkish ID card as well as Iranian. Can we just submit the Turkish one?
  9. Hi, I’m hoping to get some clarity on a situation that might be a bit unusual. My wife is Iranian, and she currently resides in Turkey. Our marriage took place in Turkey, which means we have a marriage certificate issued by the Turkish authorities. However, I’ve noticed that the NVC website provides a list of specific authorities for marriage certificates based on nationality. Here’s where it gets interesting – the marriage certificate criteria for Iran and Turkey are distinct. Here’s my question: Are we strictly required to obtain an Iranian marriage certificate, even though we married in Turkey? After all, a marriage is a marriage, right? I’m a bit uncertain if we need to adhere to the specific Iranian documentation listed, given the circumstances. Moreover, in Iran, a post-marriage birth certificate usually lists both spouses’ names. Ours, however, is empty due to our marriage occurring in Turkey. I’d really appreciate any advice or insights on how to navigate this unique situation. Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
  10. I got the State refund check today to both of our names. I should figure out how I can cash it out.
  11. My wife is in Turkey and we got her certified copy of her passport from US Consulate in Istanbul. we paid $50 for this service. My question is regarding the application. I had an appointment with IRS last Friday and the lady told me that I can't apply in person because my wife (applicant) needs to be present. My only option is to mail the forms. Now, I realized that IRS will issue the check to both of our names and as far as I understood, banks won't cash it out to a single account? Do you know how we can solve this? Also, as far as State filling. I am not sure how that works, I did not see any instruction for California, I guess I have to wait until I get her ITIN and then apply for State. does that make sense to you? Thank you again!
