Biffa got a reaction from Carpe Vinum in June 2019 AOS Filers
Biometrics done today, patiently waited till the place cleared out so I could go early as a walk in. Let the long, long wait commence! 😒

Biffa reacted to usmantariq88 in WASHINGTON POST: U.S. immigration agency to transfer citizenship paperwork from busy offices, hoping to reduce wait times
Immigrants who have filed paperwork for green cards and for U.S. citizenship could see shorter wait times in some of the nation’s busiest cities as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services works to transfer cases out of overburdened offices to even out processing times across the country.
The strategy, which will apply only to applications for permanent residency — also known as green cards — or U.S. citizenship, probably will be a welcome respite to immigrant communities in cities such as St. Paul, Minn., where some applicants wait up to two years to become citizens. Immigrants in other places could see the process lengthen.
It is unclear if the plan will have an impact on the staggering application backlog that has grown during the Trump administration and has drawn a growing tide of bipartisan criticism from immigration advocates, business leaders and lawmakers.
USCIS said Monday that it would begin transferring caseloads of applicants for citizenship and permanent residency among its various field offices with the aim of reducing the “differences in processing times based on geographic locations.”

Biffa got a reaction from Mieka91 in APPROVED, ALREADY IN USA BUT FIANCE BROKE UP
Try and find this man while you are here and try to reconcile. I can imagine you don’t want to live in a different country to the father of your child. Try reconcile with this man and ask him to be reasonable with the situation (both of you) created!
It will be difficult for you to claim child support from a different country. I am guessing you hopped on the flight because you thought there was still hope. Give it a good shot atleast so when you fly back to your home country you know you tired and that one day you can tell your child you tried your best when you have to explain this situation in the years to come.

Mine was $544 and I had already had all the vaccines except two that they charged me for. If I didn’t have proof for the others it could’ve gone way up! And that’s in NZ!

Biffa got a reaction from SalishSea in Lying on K1 application
Kinda sucks hearing people doing this.. I feel like I've disclosed every corner of my life to USCIS (I often joke the next thing they'll need is a DNA/blood sample)... It sounds like the woman has gotten away with it as she's gotten through the security clearances at NVC and her home country US consulate. Only thing is she will have to constantly live in fear of immigration knocking on her door one day to deport her.

Biffa got a reaction from SalishSea in K1 interview wait time (New Zealand)
I hear you. My case should be sent to the consulate next week, not on the West Coast just yet 😉 Thanks for your help. Its so hard planning your life with all these things, but its great knowing it could potentially move rather quickly!

Wow! Great to hear. Thank you. It's hard to tell from some NZ timelines because they vary so much, I saw one person waited for 2 months so wasn't sure if it was because the consulate was slow.

It would be like if you had a presentation in paper form and one on your computer screen. You can work from either but the embassy normally works from the electronic version. (When you present your DS-160 at the interview they scan the barcode and tie the DS-160 to your file) When they are in doubt about something then they will refer to the "paper" copy. The process once at the Embassy is that the "file" is logged in and given to the CO that will adjudicate your case. Leading up to your interview they will access your file to review it and if they have a question from something that pops out at them then they will make notes. Once you are in front of them at the interview they ask the standard questions and along the way they will ask some questions that pertain to the questionable information that they had about your file. When satisfied that you have complied with everything pertaining to the interview then your interview is concluded. Once finished the CO has some "housekeeping" to do with your file and then if it is approved it goes to the department that "manufactures" the finished visa that is then placed in your passport. The finished file, medical and passport are assembled into an envelope (they are slowly moving toward only issuing you the visa in the passport and all files, including medical will be electronically available for Immigration at your POE. The Philippine Embassy is one of the first to install this system) and sent to you for carrying to your POE.

That’s the exact same example I give when people ask me if my case is almost done now that the NVC is done with it!! 😂 I always tell them there’s the possibility that the plane that brings my paperwork for Madrid might fall into the ocean. The other day i was telling that to my mom while we were walking down the street and an old lady started yelling at me for saying such things 😂😂
