Just use the date listed on your certificate for all future administration purpose  I never actually looked the date until I filed my K-129 several years ago. I applied for US Passport at Post Office so the agency just asked me to sign

We have traveled our Visajourney to the end, success !

We followed the steps provided here on the Visajourney website, mixed with prayers, and support from our friends, my wife became a US Citizen on 8/12/2018!!!
It takes a lot of patience, but if you do your homework, file the correct documents, and supply the required information, you will win.

My wife took her Citizen exam on the Sept 12, 2018, she told the examiner she was able to answer all 100 questions, she killed it. My wife said she was a little disappointed because she was so ready they only asked her the simple questions. After her test, they invited her to take the oath, about 2 hours later on the same day. We had and huge hurricane coming in, and since we were already there in the office she agreed to take the oath. We were expecting to get a oath ceremony in about 2 weeks, we wanted to invite some of our friends to attend, but due to impending weather she went ahead and took the oath. We have a new American!!

My wife is from Romania, she told me, when she was a child and saw airliner fly over her house in Romania she would wonder if it was going to America, Our started our journey  2013,
and now she is here! Our next step is for her to pass her nursing license.

Many of you know about this, but what a feeling it is to be able to be part of someone's life long dream, and watch them become an American...the right way, and forever

    Thank you Visajourney!!
I have recommended at least 3 other people to join and win!

Best wishes to you all, God bless!

It seems to depend on your USCIS office. Some offices never seem to update beyond that point. But obviously since the certificate has been issued, and the date is clearly listed, it has to be recorded in their systems.

    MY NATURALIZATION INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE
    Hello everyone!
I have a good news! I am passed and approved my application for Naturalization today. My experience is this. My husband and I arrived at USCIS at 11: 30 AM. Gone for security check up and one of the officer told me to go to window no.1. I hand him my appointment letter then told me that an officer will come to call my name at 12:20 or 12:30 because my appointment is at 12:20pm. There were at least 10 people also waiting for their name to be called and more are coming. There's a couple who arrived after few minutes and we both surprised why we weren't called though we've been waiting longer than those who just arrived and they were called immediately 🙄. Finally she was called and wish me success. It's 1:10 when finally my name was called.
    IO: How are you?
Me: I'm fine thank you. How are you?
IO: I'm good, thanks for asking. Are you nervous?
    Me: Oh yes
IO:Oh don't be nervous. I assure you you will not fail. Put your tote on the chair. Do you promise to tell the truth and nothing but the truth
    Me: I do
IO: Let's do the test first read this sentence.
Me: How many states do we have in the United States?
IO: You write : We have fifty states.
He checked the paper where I wrote it.
IO: Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
    Me:Thomas Jefferson.
IO:Name one state that borders Mexico?
    Me:California
IO:Who is the commander in chief of the military?
    Me: The President
IO:What is the political party of the President now?
    Me: Republican Party.:
    IO:There were 13 original colonies. Name 3
Me: Of course our very own South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia.
IO:What are the 2 major political parties in the United States?
    Me: Democratic and Republican Parties
After the civic he asked the NO NO NO NO No and the YES YES YES.
IO: What is the name of your husband?
    ME: His name is____,
IO: I mean your first husband
    ME: His name is______
IO: Your current husband' name? Where did you meet?
Me:His name is_____. We met online Christian Dating for free.
IO: Your height is 5'2, eyes black, hair gray? No your hair is brown.
    Me: My hair is gray
    IO:Your hair is brown
Me:My hair is gray. I am old look I have gray hair.
    IO:No it's not  gray it's brown.
Me: I dyed it that's why it is brown but I have lots of gray hair.
IO:No it's not gray, let me put brown
Me:Ah okay better put black because I am Asian and my natural hair color is black
    IO:Okay it is black
    Me: 😄
After few more questions he let me read the pad and signed it. He told me that he will recommend my approval and congratulate me. He told me to wait until my name is called to get the instruction regarding the oath taking. He walked me back to the door and wish me good day I wish him the same. The IO is a nice person. He will help you to feel comfortable during the interview and civic test. I wait just couple of minutes and another officer hand me a paper regarding the oath taking. Oath taking will be on SEPTEMBER 20 at 8 AM.
By the way I brought with me 1and half inch thick of supporting documents just in case he will ask for more evidence pertaining of my marriage to USC. I applied under 3 year rule but today I am 5 years and 8 days LPR. None of my documents were asked. He only looked at my green card. I remind him of the passport photos if I need to give it to him. He said "no we're good, I have everything here."
I have a wonderful experience and I wish everyone will have the same.

Thank you for giving words of encouragement and actual helpful advice.  I cannot believe she was treated like this. I would like be to see these people with the negative comments go to Russia and pass the citizenship test there and speak fluent Russian at an interview. Not gonna happen. Good for her for trying so hard to become a citizen. It’s amazing how judgmental so many people are and these are ones who spouses are immigrants.

gnakr reacted to Ruark in Horrible interview experience
This was at the San Antonio USCIS center.

I took my mother in law, from Russia, to her citizenship interview yesterday. It was a nightmare. She is 80 years old, no education, a very frail, meek, gentle old lady, who has struggled for 2 years trying to learn enough English to pass the interview.  We practiced daily, and she reached the point where she can do the civics questions, speaking and writing tests almost perfectly.  But still, she can BARELY use English.  Good grief, she's 80 years old, remember.

We watched the "sample interviews" online, where it showed these warm, smiling officers greeting them, asking them to raise their hands, "please remain standing," etc. and she was prepared for that at well. We actually play-acted these situations in the living room.

None of this happened.  The officer stepped into the waiting area and called out her number.  She walked over and smiled at the officer, who was stone-faced, cold as ice.  The officer waved at her to come, without saying a word, and walked back to her office.  There, she just pointed at a chair, gesturing for my MIL to sit.  She didn't greet her, introduce herself, nothing.  No "please remain standing," no oath, etc. Then she sat behind the desk, grabbed a piece of paper and started throwing questions at my MIL, never looking up at her, just looking down at the paper and mumbling the questions at a high speed. Of course, my MIL had NO idea what she was saying.  One time my MIL asked her, with a smile, "can you repeat, please," and she looked angry. My MIL was too intimidated to try that again.

Then she tried the civics questions. She asked a couple of questions and didn't even give my MIL time to answer them. A couple of times she did answer, but the officer claimed "I couldn't understand what she was saying." Of course, my MIL speaks with a heavy Russian accent, but she is by NO means understandable!  She gave my MIL the writing test, and she did fine, she passed that.  The officer didn't even GIVE her the reading-aloud test, which surprised me, as my MIL reads PERFECTLY, better that some native English speakers. I asked the officer why she didn't give the reading test, and she smirked, "I couldn't, she didn't even know what I wanted her to do" which was total bullcrap. For heaven's sakes, just put the sentences in front of her and say "read these"!

When they were finished, the officer stood up, walked to the office door and opened it, and rudely motioned for my MIL to leave.  No comments, no smile, no nothing.  She just barked "2nd interview" and stood there by the door.  The entire thing was less than 10 minutes.

My MIL was despondent, not just at failing the test she was CAPABLE of scoring perfectly, but at the rudeness of the officer.  We talked to a friend whose parents had been through it, and she said, "oh, they're all like that, just rude and ugly, this is all normal...." and she advised taking an attorney to the next interview.  So we are going tomorrow for a preliminary visit with a good attorney ($$$).  Meanwhile, my MIL was crushed.  As of 10 pm last night she was still crying.  Have you ever seen an 80 year old lady crying herself to sleep?  It's not pretty.

My wife, of course, was livid that this could treat her mother like that and walk away scott free.  We plan to write a complaint to the supervisor, but will consult the attorney first, before doing anything.

Thoughts, comments and advice are welcome.

    Thanks.

I think for status updates, it just automatically puts in whatever date they actually do the update on the computer and is not an actual reflection of anything. Some people don’t even get that status, it’s just a matter of if they feel like getting around to it or not. The only date that matters is the one on the actual certificate. I registered to vote online and applied for passport at my local post office the same day of my oath and both went through without any issues whatsoever.

Yes mine says it was issued 5 days after I actually received it. I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s just an online status. You’re done with USCIS, stop worrying.

I don't know about the legality (or lack thereof of it) but it'll probably best to get that taken care of ASAP. During my oath, we were told to go to our bank and the DMV almost directly after the oath to get that taken care of with our certificate, and some paper which they'll give you. Hence presumably it's something you can do in one day. You may run into the risk of having your money stuck when you need it the most, the longer you wait. You may not have all that you need then.

A quick update. I had my interview yesterday, Aug 30. I was the last one in the waiting room.  The bulk of the interview was small talk...pleasant and the IO was very courteous and friendly. We spent less than 10 minutes on the N400...he quickly verified all my responses, had me check the spelling of my name, asked for a copy of selective service status information letter (although I was not required to have one because  became LPR after age 26), which I had. Asked me if I had informed the INS about my divorce in 1997 since it had overlapped with my adjustment of status petition. I had. He verified my answer by looking at the original petition from 1997 (they sit with your entire file which includes every document connected to your A#). Did the test, proofread and signed forms and I was approved.  For those of you who are still waiting, the most relevant bit of information is that he told me that each IO  is processing 10 N400s per day instead of 7; and on most days 8 to 10 of them are adjudicating n400s.

    From selective service website:
”In accordance with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS) Policy Manual - Volume 12 - Part D - Chapter 7, applicants for naturalization who are over age 31 are eligible for naturalization even if they knowingly and willfully failed to register. This is because the applicant's failure to register would be outside of the statutory period during which the applicant must show that he is of good moral character and disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States. Thus a man's failure to register with Selective Service does not make him ineligible for naturalization because he is age 31 or older. Also, since an immigrant who is age 31 or older remains eligible for naturalization even if he knowingly and willfully failed to register, he should not be asked to get a "Status Information Letter" from Selective Service.”
    https://www.sss.gov/Registration/Status-Information-Letter

    if your birthday is correct,
You are 31, hence you don’t need anything from selective service.

Trust me, it's very straight forward interview. It's a much easier/relaxed version of a job interview. You'll be sitting across the desk from the IO, and 90% of the time s/he'll be reading things off of her computer screen. Since they have so many people interviewing on a typical day, the questions will be straight to the point. I was in/out in 20 minutes.
