Dang, first time I went thru this years ago, my NOA1 was dated April 20, fiancé was here by Sep 9 for my Bday!! barely over 4 months.

Starting all over again. Lesson learned and much happier with my new fiancé. Hoping for a quick turnaround.

Any idea which months are the heaviest for filing?

There are articles out there that can better explain it. I believe the heaviest months for filing we’re the begining of the year. If I recall correctly

Is there anybody here who file in November and still waiting for Noa2 like me. I am November 14

November 14th old site, November 16 new site, still waiting. Sent two inquiries, both responded with "still adjuticating, waiting on security checks"

Looks like many of us November 14ths got screwed and we're now in limbo. I guess it doesn't feel so bad to know there are several of us.

Honestly, I try not to think about it. I will just hope that I get the approval by atleast November and continue to make inquiries every 3 weeks. I hope that whatever the hell they're doing it will be finished by that time. It's brutal to think there are November and December beneficiaries about to make their point of entry in America and we can't even get past step 1 yet.

the one above sais due to security checks... ours doesn't even say that it just sais pending adjudication which sais to me..... security hasn't even been done?

im worried our case is lost.

If the CSC response is due to a congressional case worker inquiry, the service center will say "security checks"

If the CSC response is from a regular service inquiry from their website, the service center will say "adjudication"

It's the exact same difference. I would know, I have both the CSC response to my Congressional case worker and the CSC response from a regular a service inquiry.

I second this.  Very sad to see many people on here being rude and lacking of compassion.  I thought this was a forum to ask questions and get support.

I don't see anyone rude or lacking compassion. I see people who have waited much longer than 5-7 months putting the proper prospective on just how long this visa journey will take, along with correcting those who sill think this process somehow started under the current administration. One of the issues is every other day someone makes a thread blaming Trump for their wait times. As if getting a green card was some easy nice simple procedure before he came.

This is what we recieved from them.... good to see after 8 months our case hasn’t even been touched.

As pointed out already, I received the exact same message as well as everyone else who sends an inquiry. The service centers send the same message to everyone. And they'll just send the exact same message again if you request another service inquiry in another 30 days

It doesn't mean it hasn't been touched, it means there is a security background check issue they need to further investigate. As greenbaum pointed out, it's now a waiting game. If you can wait long enough for the NOA2 you win the game. If you withdraw, panic, change your mind, then they have won the game. Some posters withdraw and that's the end of it. Other posters stick it out but for me there is no question what my option is: Stick it out.

I know there is no way of knowing when a decision will be made but I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if there is a possibility of still getting an RFE or will a definite decision be made after the security check? Thank you.

I can't asnwer your question exactly . Bu t I can tell you that im in the exact same boat and received the exact same message (everyone receivs the same auto-respose enrich message. If they wanted an RFE, they would've asked for one by now. The people who had to wait longer than 7 months like us, didn't necessary have an RFE. Ironically some of the people who had RFE's, got approved faster.

We applied in July of 2017.

We just received our NOA2 at the beginning of June 2018...

Wow that's crazy, and your beneficiary is from a low risk country right? (Canada)

We have a poster here who waited 3 years for his NOA2, they made a thread about it, it was insane. As an 8 month+ waiter so far, reading your story and others helps me to be more patient.

  8. 5-7 months is not really a long time. That's only a small step in the overall timeline visa journey to become a U.S. citizen. By comparison, CR1 visas are 10-14 months which is a long time to not see someone.

I've been waiting for 8+ months, and others have waited for almost a year for their approval, no RFE. If one can't handle 5-7 months, I'm not sure their relationship was built to last.

The current administration has nothing to do with the increase in time. In 2015 two mass shooters in san bernardino, one of which was admitted into America on a K1 visa, clearly affected the current processing time and forced USCIS to revamp or further investigate cases even longer.

  9. The average processing times for the K1 NOA2 are 5-7 months. When they get to your date on that timeline, there is still no telling when you will actually receive your NOA2

In other words the timeline above simply shows you that someone is actively looking/reviewing the petition on those dates. It doesn't show or tell you when you're going to get your NOA2

Guy, we got NOA2 on July 2 2018 after over 3 years long waiting. We appreciate everything you said and will update our processing timeline once our application got updated on USCIS website.

Congrats! Jesus, 3 years? I would bet that's some type of record

You have alot patience but I would imagine it also helps that you were living with your fiance at the time. Good luck on the rest of your visajourney.

I thought they were looking at content and relationship dev, but it occured to me now they may be looking for consistency more than actual details of what was written?

Is it better to find lovey dovey stuff or one screenshot/month over the period of the relationship?

They have to process thouands of petitions. I believe they look at key words and discussions and to consider the overall package.

I guess it really makes no difference since they won't tell us, for obivous reasons. What matters is you simply copy/paste and send it in. I did it and had no RFE so far.

So i received this e-mail this morning after out of normal process inquiry. Does this mean my case is currently being adjudicated? I am kind of confused now. 226 days now

It means to wait, I got the same exact response 3 weeks ago via email. :D

Why? "Additional background security checks" is the reason. What prompted additional security ? Who knows?
