  1. Hello! I got my EAD card finally in the Mail, sept 07. now the job search start.

I have been having problems with the DPS. they send me already 2 letters from SAVE, the  verification lawful presence system they have, first letter said: verification peding, and secon one, said: not verified.

A little bit of my background with DPS: I used to have a Driver Licence valid for 6 months, in 2015, that one is already expired. now I am trying to get a new one, but I have different Inmigration status and new Last name. I dont know, but I have a feeling that my new last name have to do with this.

The status changed on August 24th for us too. We received the notification in the mail on August 30th and hoping to have the card today or in the next few days too! We applied and received the SSN after my husband got here, so we already have it. Good luck everyone!

wich is weird for me is some of my friends receive both documents toguether... usually the social security card is on the same USPS first class envelope.

I received my approval notice on 08/23 and got card 08/25. I don't know why you haven't received yours. It came as a USPS priority mail which normally takes 2-3 business days and going by the fact that we received the approval notice on the same day, I would think you should have it by now.

so, did your online case status change from: card being produced to card mailed to you? or just after card being produced came in the mail?

my update of: card being produced was august 24, i still dont have nothing yet. not even an update or something in the mail

I heard that even if the letter says nothing about doing the Medical again. What if they ask for one at the interview? You would have more delays in getting approved.

well, I will have it done by the time I have the interview. what I mean is, I am going to wait untill i receive the letter with my interview schedule, then go to have my medicals before the interview so I will have a fresh medicals.

Yeah. I called uscis and the lafy told me to go ahead and do it. It won't take a year for the interview to be scheduled. Thats probably true for most field office, not houston.

I guess i'll wait for the actual interview notice to be sure.

What did your ead case online say before the card is in production?

it says your aplication was received.

Hello!! I was just wondering, did you send your medical in your aos packet?

I just got my courtesy letter for the medical today, dated aug 3, 2018. My case status online says ready to be scheduled for interview since aug 6.

Is it advisable to do the medical now when i see a lot of people in houston still waiting for interview.

Hello! No. I don't want to waste my money. I will wait until I receive my interview notice and then I can go and have my Medical Examination.

I did, I am still waiting for the actual card though, was mailed to me on Monday. But my situation is not so typical in one sense as our first attempt of applying for EAD and AP was rejected in February and part of me wonders whether they took it into account or not...

    Hi guys,

Thanks for giving me a lot of advices. I just got update from USCIS that "New card is being produced". It is very surprise, because I just got denial from USCIS to expedite the EAD 3 days ago, contacted the congressman's office today and about to send evidence tomorrow.

    Here is my timeline:

    1. Packet sent: 04/01

    2. Packet received: 04/05

    3. Notice date: 04/13

    4. New card is being produced: 08/15

There is total 137 days, no expedite. Good luck for the rest of you. Good new is coming for April filers ^_^.

@PollyC that's crazy. Here in NYC it costs about $200.

@JoAndLo shop around, different doctor offices may have different prices. Call them to find out how much it will cost. I called about 10 offices in order to find the cheapest in my area.

That is a good idea! will be better to call and know how much will be. I am just getting ready for that time to come (will be when I know my Interview date, because I don't want them to expire and cost me more money)

Remember you need to bring along your immunization record with you.

If you lost the record or got a not updated record just like me, you probably need to get a tDap vaccine and a blood test.

I did mine in Montana, it cost $320.

My test just took like 30mins, they took a look of my not updated immunization record, then said because some info is missing there so I need to get a vaccine and a blood test. After that the doctor will come in and asked you some questions, then some usual checking (listen to your lung sounds stuff like that).

After all checking the Dr will ask you sign on the I-693. Then its done. (I didn't get the report with me becos they said they need to see my blood test result to see if i need to get more vaccine)

One day after they called me said I need to get one more vaccine becos the immunity level is not high enough. The next day i went to a health care centre and get the vaccine ($21 only), then fax the report to the clinic, two days later i received my sealed I-693 by mail (they also sent me a copy of the report for reference)

You can find a USCIS authorized civil surgeons here: https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor

    Hope it helps!

Thank you so much for share your experiece!

Good Luck! Will be so nice to start working again i can’t wait!

Visa Journey estimates that the USCIS are roughly processing EAD/AP’s from people that recieved their NOA1’s on March 11 2018. I just checked and officially recieved mine on April 6th 2018 so let’s hope it arrives within the next 3 weeks!

    That will be great!

  11. Anyone get their medicals in Houston?

What to expect? approximated cost? any location that can recommend to me?

I am a AOS filler and just receive a courtesy letter regarding my medical, I didn't send it with the Original submission of my AOS package because was scared about expiration of the medicals.
