It's not strictly required for the green card interview, but proof of being enrolled in your spouse's health insurance can be used as proof of a bonafide marriage.

Also looking at the long-term / big picture, it is not a good idea for anyone to go without health insurance in the US. That's just being penny wise and pound foolish.

I was just answering the question asked.

Hi everyone that reads this...I'm on my last part before I mail in my K1 application. My fiance and I mostly use fb for communication and obviously I need to print out messages for proof. Problem is we have been dating for 2 years so that's alot. I've tried down loading my messages from fb but their are so many messages. How did all of you do this part.  Its takes like an hour just to find the first message I've sent to her.

There is a message/chat downloader addon for Chrome that I used.   After installing the addon, an icon will appear at top of Chrome anytime you are in messenger.  It will let you specify date ranges.  I downloaded in 3 month increments.  I didn't actually present them in the Manila interview, but they could clearly see me standing there beside Junrey holding 2 large binders (1st 3 months and last 3 months).  I did not send in any message logs with I129F petition application.

    Hello and good day.

As I checked USTravelDocs PassportVisaRetrieve and it said Passport Status: Your passport is ready for pickup.
Now I don't know what to do next coz 2GO Tracking is still saying "invalid". So I don't know what's up and I don't know what to do... The 2GO address given to me can't be found on Google Maps and their phone number is "not in service".

    Would like some advice.

I had my interview on October 05, 2018 and CEAC status check VISA issued October 10, 2018.

    Thank you.

My fiancé picked up his visa on Friday Oct 12th  (2GO Mall of Asia where he requested in application) after receiving an email from 2GO.  The tracking status at 2Go never changed from "invalid".   I tried his passport number, MNL#, application number and they are all invalid.  Is the 2GO location the one you requested in your application.  Have you looked up the location on the 2GO website.

that was definitely an adventure!! If I tell my fiance your story he will appreciate my organizational ethics more now:lol:.  I was overly organized and I actually had him print and take a picture and text me everything he did so i know he has completed it hahahaha. I waited 8 months to schedule an interview, i didn't wanna risk any hiccups along the way.  He now sees a whole different side of me, God bless him!

I had made check lists.  Everything in the proper folders. Pictures labeled.  I was checking off item on the list with wrong document.  Junrey had mentioned that he had used an existing profile when he completed the visa application.  I didn't think anything of it, especially since his receipt indicated he paid for k1 visa application.  The thing I would have done differently was interview preparation.  I had never seen him so nervous.  We had gone over typical questions, but I would make a more comprehensive list.  He was almost in panic mode at each question and while he speaks English well, that is not where his thought processes are.  CO said "You speak to him in English, I want you to speak to me in English"

    Hello everyone

So my interview was today and I was approved but they are waiting on my medical results to issue the visa.

I was just wondering I checked my application and it's in administrative processing, is this normal? They do have my passport and I never received a 221g so that's a good thing.

Any advice on when I should contact them about the medical results. Thank you

In our case they stated that visa was approved.  Then status stayed "Administrative Processing " for 10 days.  No 221g.  So it is a normal part of the process.  Of course, I worried for 10 days.

  6. Thought I would share the embassy review I posted this morning.

Junrey's interview was 9/24/2018. I attended with him. I thought we were well prepared and had everything in order. I was wrong. This was an adventure.
Couple of things first. Everything at the embassy was well organized, professional, and friendly.
The appointment was scheduled at 6:10AM and we lined up around 5:45. We had the appointment confirmation that allowed us to get in line, but we did not have the application confirmation. Junrey had completed the application so I was unfamiliar with the confirmation page that had his picture on it. They gave us the website to get it and gave us until 9:00AM to come back with it. I had rented an Airbnb condo across the street and so we went there to get what we needed. Junrey saw the document online and said "I've got that". We had it all along. So back to the embassy (7:30AM). Got to go to front of the line. We were then allowed into the embassy and waited our turn for pre-interview. In the pre-interview stage it was determined that some how Junrey had paid for a K1 visa but attached it to the tourist application he had made 2 years prior. She was confused how he did, but needed a K1 visa application. She gave until 10AM to get a K1 visa completed. Back to the condo (around 8:30AM at this time). We started to complete the online application (very slow if you are in hurry). About half way through a message was issued "timeout - click ok to continue for additional 20 minutes". It timed out anyway. We could have accessed that application if we had written it down. We started over, but immediately wrote down the application number. We finished the application and fortunately I had his picture to upload into the application on my laptop.
It is now 9:15AM but no printer. Saved confirmation page to USB memory card and went to find printer. The computers were out at the first internet shop we found. We found a print shop in the next block that was able to print it out for us. Back to the Embassy, bypassed all the lines and to the pre-interview window. A USB memory card (I didn't have on first time through) is not allowed in. US citizens are allowed to check in electronic devices by going through a different door. I gave them my driver's license and the usb that I picked up on the way out. Cleared pre-interview window. Then finger printing of Junrey. Then wait for interview. Interview questions: (Junrey was extremely nervous) How did you meet? When did you first meet in person? Wedding plans? Junrey said we would get marriage license and get married the next week. CO wanted details of the wedding. Some how Junrey couldn't verbalize that it would be courthouse wedding with just the 2 of us. Tell me something that just you and your fiancé know? CO then said "I'm going to recommend approval". I believe that the statement "Recommend approval" vs. "Is approved" puts you in administrative processing. We were in "Administrative processing" for 10 days with status changing to "Issued" on October 4th.
Overall the embassy went out of their way to help us and we were able to get it done.

We will now schedule CFO class and book airfare as soon as visa is in hand

Hello Guys Please help. Yesterday our case was Ready in Ceac Site. Per reading here on VJ that means that's our cue that interview can be done asap. So next day, my fiance went to USEM Manila to do the interview, he was told that he needs the EMAIL saying he can go thru the interview. Meaning they're waiting for the physical case that was sent by NVC. I thought they end it electronically ? Please clarify,

I believe that they are wanting a document with your MNL# on it.  The email you receive from NVC stating that they received an approved I-129F petition has the MNL# on it.  I believe others are taking a screenshot of the ceac status screen which also shows MNL#.   Follow the guidelines on this page. http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html   Scheduling of interview is after making DS160 application,  paying fees. Medical exam at St. Lukes is done at least one week prior to interview.

    Congratulations 🎈🎉 p

Our case has been READY for a long time, and we still have not had the interview yet.  So, you don’t need packet 3?

We are still waiting on our packet 3?

We are not waiting for packet 3.  I'm following this guide http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

I believe packet 3 contains this letter. https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

I have read that many do not receive their packet 3 until after they have attended interview.  We scheduled as soon as the status here https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx changed to "Ready"

Question....if my fiance applied for a visa before to visit and was denied did that need to be reported on the i129-f ? I know it asked other questions if he'd been in the states which he hasnt but he has applied for lottery and tourist before...

I don't see that question on the I-129F.  I believe it will be on the beneficiary's DS-160 visa application.

Hi guys. We got our approval on 7/24. But the NOA 2 came this friday 7/27. My case status in the website still say "received". I think that is not update. Maybe many of us  have been approved and doesn't know anything for this website. Please have a lot of patience. Your approval is coming soon.

Make sure you are checking status on the new website. https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/  You have to log in and receive passcode in a text message.

They have not been updating the old website.

Hi everyone. I’ve been lurking around this site reading and rereading all about the K-1 Visa for the past 2 months. I finally mailed my packet off on 07/09/2018 and today I received my email confirmation that it has been accepted for processing.

I am really excited that this process has at last gotten started. Time appart is so hard at times so a countdown is a blessing in my eyes.

Anyways I just wanted to introduce myself and ask one question I have not found while searching the forums. This question is directed to anyone who has had a fiancé come from the Philippines.

Regarding flight cost: I have always bought airline tickets months in advance because It is much cheaper. Also since I only know from personal experience I have only ever pirchased round trip tickets. I understand that I will have to wait until we get our approval to buy so I am curious what kind of funds I should expect to pay for a short notice one way flight from Manila to New Orleans? Can anyone share what it cost them or give me a ball park figure. I want to be prepared to buy her ticket as soon as we are green lighted.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Go to https://www.fareboom.com/   They have great comparisons.   Better prices start 3 weeks out.  I like to fly EVA to Philippines as it is the shortest time from Houston.

What's the reason for VJ to go by the notice date?

I'm guessing, but I think all the scan processes were developed outside of vj.  When vj setup the timelines, I think it would be logical to use the notice date.  Then outside developers tried to automate the process, the only date available is the "received date" that is returned when a case status is requested.

  13. 7 minutes ago, JoelThai said:

The issue is that the Visa Journey instructions state to use the NOA1 Notice date on the timeline, but the scans are using (out of necesity) the NOA1 received date.

You can see the instructions when editing your time line by clicking on the link "Help finding your NOA1 date"

    http://www.visajourney.com/images/noa-date.jpg

Yes, I received approval today with my timeline for NOA1 indicating Jan 02 (Notice date) as instructed by the VJ instructions.  My received date was Dec 28th.

But, I do consider myself a December filer, as I filed (i.e. sent) my petition on Dec 26, 2017.

    Yep.  It's confusing.  Congratulations!!!
